Blair Memorial Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon at 12:45 p.m. Monday, July 2, 1973. He had been in failing health. He was born August 20, 1927 in Huntingdon, a son of Raymond and Thelma (Rhone) Hicks. He is survived by his mother, Thelma Hicks Gutshall of Huntingdon R.D. Three children survive, William Hicks Jr, Huntingdon, Barbara Minaya, Ph Philadelphia, and Carol Dean, Ohio. There are four granddaughters. Kimberly ma made her home with the deceased. Also surviving is a brother, Coy Hicks of Mo Mount Union R.D. The deceased was of the Protestant faith. He had been employed as a custodian in the office of Dr. Reiners in Huntingdon. He also worked as an attendant at the Coo the Cook Service Station in Huntingdon. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Navy Navy aboard the U.S.S. Liggett and the U.S.S. Dade in the South Pacific. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Heath fun funeral home in Mount Union. Interment will be made in IOOF Cemetery in Mount Uni Union. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. u until the hour of the service on Thursday.
