Funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 12, at the Heritage Baptist Church, RD, Three Springs, with Tony Blackburn and Pastor Eric Lingenfelter officiating. Interment was made in the Old School Baptist Cemetery, RD, Three Springs. Arrangements were by the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. She was born March 3, 1920, in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Delmer and Bertha (Painter) Lane. She was married to Rex H. Hoffman on May 10, 1942. Mr. Hoffman preceded her in death on December 14, 1989. Mrs. Hoffman is survived by two sons and one daughter: David R. Hoffman and wife Pam, of Three Springs; Dale R. Hoffman and wife Mary, of Findlay, OH and Dorcas A. McVay and husband Patrick of Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Kevin Hoffman of Quakertown and Brian Hoffman of Greencastle and great-grandchildren Kristin, Kari, and Kaitlyn. She has two sisters, Mertie Fleming of Titusville, NJ and Marjorie Senft of RD, Three Springs and one brother, Ralph Lane of Saltillo who also survives. Mrs. Hoffman had one brother Melvin Lane, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, also a seamstress who enjoyed quilting and braiding rugs. She loved the outdoors, especially walking and riding her bike. She was one of the first in the area to make home deliveries of the Valley Log. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, RD, Three Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Heritage Baptist Church, P.O. Box 263, Three Springs, PA 17264.
