(Caldwell) House, 70, of 55 E. Pennsylvania Ave., Mount Union, died at 5:10 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, 2002, at her home. The funeral service was conducted March 25 at the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Union, with Pastor I. S. Owens officiating. Interment was in the Mount Union Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Born May 4, 1931, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Allen Berkeley and Margaret Gertrude (Morris) Glass. She was united in marriage to Edward E. House on July 26, 1951. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1967. Surviving are their nine children: Joyce Easter, Dorothy Cox, Carol House and Mark House, all of -Mount Union; Steven House, Dianne Fortson and Kathe Posey, all of Huntingdon; Michael House, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Margie Squier, San Diego, Calif. A grandson, Jared House of Mount Union, was reared in the home. There are 24 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren surviving. A sister and a half-brother also survive: Mrs. Julius (Mary) McNeal of Huntingdon and Ray Caldwell Jr. of Clearfield. Mrs. House retired as a clerk-typist from SCI-Huntingdon, where she worked a number of years. Prior to this she was employed by Huntingdon County Children's Services. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, class of 1949. Mrs. House was a member of the Eastern Star, Chapter 57, Mount Union and a member of the Pocahontas Temple 719, Mount Union. She was a member of the Mt. Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Union. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
