Hummel died at his home in South Huntingdon on Saturday, Oct. 29th [19th] at 2 a.m. from the effects of Spanish influenza and pneumonia. Deceased was a son of Annis and Henrietta Hummel, of South Huntingdon (the latter deceased) and was born at Coalport Clearfield county, and was aged at time of death 29 years, 2 months and 16 days. He was an industrious and highly respected young man, and is survived by his wife and one little son, James Elva aged 3 years, and by his aged father at home, and one brother Wilbur Hummel, in the U.S. service at Camp Lee.
