Hampton, an aged veteran, died Wednesday morning March 20, 1912 at the County Home, Shirleysburg, where he had been making his home during the winter. Mr. Hampton had been in feeble health for some time and his death was not unexpected. For years Mr. Hampton was a resident of Orbisonia, where he was highly respected. His wife (Louisa Broombaugh) preceded him to the grave several years ago. He is survived by five sons who mourn his departure. Mr. Hampton was brought to Orbisonia by Houck and Chilcote, undertakers, and prepared for burial and late in the day removed to the G.A.R. post room where the body was ket till Thursday afternoon when a shor funeral service was held by Rev. G.A. Sparks of the U.B. Church. Interment in the Orbisonia Cemetery. William Brown died at his residence in Cromwell Township, on Thursday last (February 2, 1865) aged nearly 85 years. On the 30th of May, 1840 Mr. Brown's family-a wife and five children-were murdered , and himself wounded by his son-in-law, Robert McConaghy. He married again and reared a large family, continuing until his death to live in the same house in which the murder took place. He was a hardy, illiterate pioneer, and srerved his county during the War of 12. Huntingdon Globe Wednesday 2/8/1865 Milton William Hampton died in the Heidel Ambulance while on the way to the Huntingdon Hospital, Sunday, May 5, 1929 about 2 p.m. Milton was taken suddenly ill on Sunday, the doctor was called and requested immediate hospitalization. The patient was placed in the ambulance, accompanied by his parents, but died before reaching a mile from home. He was the sone of William Henry and Mary Jane Stuller Hampton. H was born in Rockhill Furnance March 16, 1912 and was aged 17 years 1 month and 19 days at the time of his death. He is survived by his parents and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Martha Asper and Mrs. Margaret Benson of Millerstown; Mrs. Rachel McConaughey, Mary, Ephraim, Zada, and Lester at home. Funeral services will be held at the home of his parents Wednesday, May 8, 1929 at 2 p.m., Re. H.W. Hanawalt officiating. Interment at the Odd Fellows Cemetery Rockhill. Rachel A. (Stuller) Fisher , and aged and highly respected resident of Six Mile run, passed away at the Nason Hospital in roaring Springs on Sunday afternoon, March 25, 1951, at 12:30 p.m. She became ill suddenly and was rushed to the hospital where she died jus 45 minutes after being admitted. The deceased was born in fulton county on May 22, 1873, a dougher of Henry and Easter(Brown) Stuller. She was united in marriage to James T. Fisher at Six Mile Run on August 29, 1889. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Sic Mile Run Church of God. She is survived by her husband and these four children Harry and Edward Fisher of Six Mile Run, George Fisher of Shrpesville and Mrs. Ralph Jones of Altoona. Three sistes, Mrs. George ( Nancy Ellen) Adolphson, Mrs. Frank (Alice) Jenkins of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Mary Hampton of Orbisonia. Interment in Duvall Cemetary, Saxton Henry Edward Stuller of six Mile run passed away at Bedford on Thursday, December 18, 1947. Born in Huntingdon county on August 9, 1875, he was a son of henry and Easter (Brown) Stuller, both deceased. He was united in marriage to the former Margaret Vaughn who passé away on December 26, 1945. He is survived by one son, James Stuller of Saxton, and the following brother and sisters: George Stuller of Rockhill Furnace, Mrs. Rachel Fisher of Six Mile Run, Mrs. Mary Hampton of Rockhill Furnace, Mrs. Alice Jenkins of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Nancy Ellen Aldolphson of Coalmont. Five grandchildren are also surviving. The deceased was a member of the Six mile Run Church of God. Interment is the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Saxton Mary Jane (Stuller) Hampton formerly of Rockhill Furnace, died at the home of her son, Lester Hampton at Burnham on Thursday (August 1954) morning at 10 o'clock. She had been ill since March. Mrs. Hampton was born at New Granada on February 19, 1877, a daughter of the late Henry and Easter (Brown) Stuller. She was the widow of William Hampton. Five children survive, namely, Mrs. Rachel Varner of Mount Union, Mrs. Margaret Chew of Los Angeles, CA, Ephriam Hampton of Allenport, Mrs. Zada Hassinger of Phillipsburg, and Lester Hampton of Burnham. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Alice Jenkins of Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Nancy Ellen Adolphson of Coalmont, 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Interment in the IOOS Cemetery, Rockhill. William Henry Hampton died at his late home in Rockhill Furnace on Saturday evening, May 8, 1937, at 11 o'clock. Death was due to complications. He had been in failing health since December. He was born in Cromwell Township on March 4, 1875, a son of Ephriam and Lousia (Broombaugh) Hampton, both deceased. Until two years ago he had been employed at the P.R.R. creosote plant. He had been affiliated with that plant for twenty six years. Surviving are his wife Mary Hamton and the following children: Mrs. Martha Asper, Mrs. Rachel McConaughey, Mrs. Mary Hoffman, Ephriam Hampton all of Orbisonia, Mrs. Margaret Massett and Mrs. Zada Penak of Phillipsburg, and Leste Hampton at home. These brothers, Charles Hampton of McKees Rocks, Thomas Hampton and Arthur Hampton of Mount Union and Harry Hamton of Hawstone and nine grandchildren also survive. Interment, IOOF Rockhill Furnace. Milton Stuller, of Rockhill Furnace, died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Monday morning at 9:40, of cancer. Mr. Stuller was stricken Sunday, May 12th, and was taken to the hospital but was past medical aid. He was the son of Henry and Easter (Brown) Stuller and was born October 12, 1865. He was aged 69 years, 7 months and 8 days. He is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Rachel Fisher and Edward Stuller, of Six Mile Run; Mrs. Alice Jenkins, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Nancy Ellen Adolphson, of Coalmont, and Mrs. Mary Hampton and George Stuller of Rockhill. Funeral services were conducted in the Church of the Brethren at Rockhill, Wednesday at 2 o'clock, by Rev. H. W. Hanawalt of McVeytown, Reihart's funeral home. Mrs. Nancy Ellen (Stuller) Adolphson of Coalmont died at 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 1960, at her late home. She had been ill for the past several years. She was born October 19, 1890, in Hill Valley, a daughter of Henry and Easter (Brown) Stuller. She was married to George Adolphson on November 27, 1907, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 1955. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Haxel McGhee and Earl Adolphson, both of Coalmont, Mrs. Irene McClain and Mrs. Verna Rankin, both of Akron, Ohio. One daughter preceded her in death. There are 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the Church of God in Coalmont. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, at2 p.m. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery at Broad Top. George Franklin Stuller, 68, died of a heart attack at the home of his grandon, George D. Chilcote, in Shirleysbur at 3:15 o'clock. Mr. Stuller was born at New Grenada, Fulton County, on July 6, 1882, a son of Henry and Easter (Brown) Stuller. By occupation he was a carpenter. He is survived by his wife and three children: Florence Christy of Greencastle, Ernest Stuller of Rockhill Furnace, Gladious Battistella of Shirleysburg. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 4 sisters: Mrs. Nancy Ellen Adophson of Coalmont, Mrs. Rachel Fisher of Six Mile Run, Mrs. Alice Jenkins of Hollidaysburg, and Mrs. Mary Hampton of Rockhill Furnace. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery at Rockhill Furnace. Clarence Edward Campbell of Orbisonia died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital at 5:30 o'clock Thursday morning, May13, 1948. He had been ill since Saturday May 8, and was admitted to the hospital last Sunday morning. Born on February 27, 1915, in Somerset he was a son of Frank and Mary (Bowser) Campbell. On September5, 1942 he was united in marriage with Margaret Varner. His wife and father, both of Orbisonia and also these half-brothers and Half-sister: Jacob, Harry, Charles, and Effie Manges, all of Somerset. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church at Orbisonia. Funeral service will be held at the Campbell home at Orbisonia on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock. Burial will be made in the IOOF Cemetery. Martha Louise (Hampton) Asper, wife of Herbert Asper of Mapleton Depot, died at her late home after a n illness of 9 months, Saturday, April 22, 1944 at 7:40 o'clock. She was born June 25, 1900 the daughter of William and Mary (Stuller) Hampton,. She was united in marriage in 1924 with Herbert Asper at Lewistown and they established their first home at Burnham, where the husband was employed at the Standard Steel Works. They moved to Mapleton Depot in 1938. Surviving are the husband , oone son Leroy Asper, one daughter Mrs. Eugene Skipper, both of Mapleton Depot; the mother, Mrs. Mary Hanpton of Orbisonia and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Rachel McConaughey, Mrs. Mary Hoffman and Ephraim Hampton of Orbisonia; Mrs. Zada Pennock and Mrs. Margaret Msset, both of Phillipsburg and Lester Hampton of the U.S. Marines. Mrs. Asper attended the United Brethren Church at Mapleton. Ther funeral service will be held at 2p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at the Brethren Church in Mapleton. Interment in the IOOF Cemetery at Mapleton. Mrs. Jennie C. Varner, widow of Samuel Varner, died at her home in Orbisonia on Tuesday, August3, 1943, shortly after midnight. Death was due to the infirmities of advanced age. Jennie Catherine Varner was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (McMullen) Parson. She was born in Shade Valley on November19, 1859, hence was aged at the time of death 83 years, 8 months and14 days. Of a family of eight children she is the last surviving member. Four children preceded her in death. Twelve grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren survive. Having spent her entire life in Orbisonia and vicinity Mrs. Varner was well known and will be sadly missed by many friends. She was a good mother and a kind neighbor and much of her life was spent in helping others. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Orbisonia. The funeral service will be held at the late home on Friday, August 6, at 2 p.m., the Rev. Edward Wilson, pastor of the United Brethren Church, officiating. Friends may call at the late home after 6 o'clock Wednesday evening. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery by Ott's Funeral service. George A. Schmittle of Rockill Furnace passed away at his home on Friday afternoon, October 24, 1952, at 4:20 o'clock. He had been in failing health for five years. The deceased was born in Rockhill Furnace on July 12, 1895 a son of Grant and Rebecca (Renninger) Schmittle. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah Moore of Tell Township, the ceremony being performed at Rockhilll Funance on December 23, 1914. Mr. Schmittle was an employee for the General Refractories Company at Mount Union for 39 years until he was forced to retire due to failing health. He was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. He also belonged to the Orbisonia Deer Club. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children Wilbur Schmittle of Rockhill, George A. Schmittle, Jr. of Claysburg, Margaret Wkefield of Shirleysburg and Luella McKInney of Lucedale, ten grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters:Elmer Schmittle of Middleburg, William Schmittle of Lewistown, Mrs. Mabel Beers and Miss Mary Schmittle of Rockhill Furnance, Mrs. Hazel Hicks of Mount Union, and Mrs. Esther Bollinger of Orbisonia. Funeral service will be held on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Myrl Weyant, pastor of the church, will officiate and interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery at Rockhill Furnace. Mary Ellen (Hampton) Hoffman wife of Jacob Hoffman of Orbisonia died very unexpectedly at her late home on Sunday afternoon, April 18, 1948. she had not been in good health for several weeks, but her condition became serous only yesterday. She was born in Rockhill Furnace on March 31, 1908, a daughter of William and Mary Jane (Stullers) Hampton. Her husband and mother, who lives in Rockhill Furnace, are surviving and also one daughter Anna (Mrs. Glenn Snook) of Mount Union. There are 3 grandchildren. The following brothers and sisters also survive, Pfc. Lester Hampton of the U.S. Army at Fort Dix, NJ; Ephriam Hampton of Mount Union; Rachel McConaughey of Rockhill Furnace; Mrs. Zada Penak of Phillipsburg and Margaret Hampton of California. Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery Rockhill Furnace.
