Amos, died at the J.C. Blair Hospital this Tuesday morning, June 10, 1947, at 5:30 o'clock. Born in Fulton County on Feb. 23, 1870, she was the daughter of Stehepen G. and Sarah J. (Defabaugh) Wright. She was first married to L. C. Bailey who died a number of years ago. She later was united in marriage with William E. Amos. Her husband and a son, Guy W. Bailey of Saxton, is surviving. Others surviving are: three grandchildren, Vaughn W. Bailey, Mrs. Max Hooper and Mrs. George Moyle, all of Saxton; and a sister, Mrs. John Stevens, Canon, Colo. Mrs. Amos was a member of the Saxton Methodist Church. She was respected in the community and enjoyed a large acquaintance. The Rev. McKinley Kepler will conduct the funeral service in the Robert E. Huff funeral chapel on Friday at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Fochler Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. Samuel G. Atkins of Entriken died at his home yesterday morning, April 25, 1948, at 4 o'clock. Born in Lincoln Township on March 4, 1877, he was the son of George and Margaret (Cunningham) Atkins. Two brothers and a sister are surviving: George E. Atkins, Entriken, and William Atkins and Mrs. Lillian Dixon, both of Saxton. The funeral service will be held in the Robert E. Huff funeral chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. E.S. Hayes will officiate. Burial will be made in the Entriken Cemetery. Mrs. Margaret Ellen Beaver, formerly of Entriken, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edmund L. Holsopple, Bluefield, Virginia, early Monday morning, February 25, 1946. She was the widow of Anthony W. Beaver, and was born August 24, 1858 at Entriken. She was the daughter of Samuel H. Grove and Catherine Fouse Grove. Her husband preceded her in death on November 2, 1925. Two children are also deceased--Rachel who died in infancy and Henry who died at the age of 8 years. Mrs. Beaver was a lifelong and devout member of St. Matthew's Evangelical and Reformed Church of Entriken. She possessed a fine Christian personality and enjoyed a large circle of friends. She was admired by all who knew her. Surviving are two daughters and four sons: Mrs. Edna Marine, Sharptown, Md; Mrs. Edmund L. Holsopple, Bluefield, Va.; Benjamin N. Beaver, of Huntingdon; Samuel L. Beaver, of R.D.1, Huntingdon; Frank G. Beaver, of Marklesburg; and Rev. Reuben S. Beaver, of Somerset, Ohio. Also surviving are seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one brother Dewalt F. Grove, of Shelby, Ohio. The funeral services will be held in the Evangelical and Reformed Church at Entriken on Thursday forenoon at 10:30, the Rev. Charles A. Huyette officiating. Interment will be made in the Entriken Cemetery directed by Huff's Funeral Service. Mrs. Mary Ann Beaver, widow of John S. Beaver, passed away on Monday, January 9, 1944, at her home in Entriken at 9 p.m. She was born on April 24, 1857, in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, the daughter of Anthony Shultz and Elizabeth Fouse Shultz. At time of death she was aged 86 years, 8 months, and 16 days. Her husband, John S. Beaver, to whom she was united in marriage on April 5, 1876, preceded her in death a number of years ago. Surviving are these sons and daughters: Mrs. Clayton Speck, Entriken; Mrs. Harry Lorenze, Wilkinsburg; Mrs. Chester A. Reed, Entriken; Mrs. Earl C. Robb, McConnellstown; and John N. Beaver, Entriken. One sister, Mrs. Albert Criswell of Entriken also survives. She was a lifelong member of the Entriken Reformed Church and when age and health permitted was active in the ladies aid and other church organizations. She was a very earnest Christian and highly regarded by the community in which she lived. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Thursday afternoon at the late residence, the Rev. Charles Huyette officiating. Interment will be made in the Evangelical and Reformed Cemetery, Marklesburg, by Huff's funeral service. Friends will be received at the Beaver residence at any time. Mrs. Jessie Mae Baker, wife of Edgar C. Baker, of R.D. Aitch, Huntingdon County, died at her late home on Monday afternoon, April 19th, at 12:15 o'clock. Her illness covered a period of several years, during which time she had been confined to her home. She was born at Front Royal, Va., on July 29, 1886, hence she was aged at the time of death 56 years, 8 months and 20 days. Surviving are the husband and the following children: Mrs. Annie V. Gottlob, of R.D. Aitch; Mrs. Laura Ruth Kuhmer, of Philadelphia; and Larkin Lake, now in the U.S. armed service. Three step-daughters also survive: Gladys M. Hudone and B. Virginia Baker, of Drexel Hill, Pa., and Marion P. Baker, of Aitch. Mrs. Baker was well known in the community and she was respected and admired by her large circle of friends. She bore her long illness with great fortitude. Funeral services will be held at the Newburg Methodist Church on Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and interment in the Newburg Cemetery will be directed by Huff's funeral service. William David Barr, formerly of 323 Penn Street, Huntingdon, died at the home of his son, Eugene C. Barr of Enola, on Wednesday, April 3, 1946, at 11:25 p.m. Born October 31, 1862, in Greenwood Furnace, he was the son of William and Elizabeth Barr. He married Margaret Moore, who died March 1, 1936. Four sons and a daughter survive: Eugene, with whom he made his home, and David, both of Enola; Gilbert, Pitcairn; Edward, Lynn, Massachusetts; and Mrs. Joseph Ebbs, Beech Creek R.D. There are eleven grandchildren. One brother, Robert Barr, Pitcairn, is still living. An employee of the Pennsylvania Railroad, Mr. Barr retired in 1931. He was a member of the Half Moon and of the I.O.O.F. since 1888. He belonged to the Methodist Church of Pitcairn. The Rev. W.E. Watkins will officiate at the funeral service to be held at the Koch funeral home, State College, at 2 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Gray's Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Edgar Brook Bender, a well known resident of Brumbaughs Crossing, Hesston R.D., died at the J. C. Blair Hospital on Sunday evening, April 18, 1948, at 7:10 o'clock. He had lived at Hesston R.D. for the past twenty years. Born on September 3, 1875, in Chambersburg, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Bender. On January 4, 1917, he was united in marriage with Grace Moyer. the Rev. Mr. Wagner of Huntingdon Lutheran Church officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Bender survives to mourn his passing. He was a retired Pennsylvania Railroad employee. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church in Chambersburg. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon in the Church of the Brethren at Brumbaughs Crossing. The Rev. E.L. Manges of the St. James Lutheran Church in Huntingdon will officiate. Burial will be made in Grove Cemetery at Hesston. Friends may call at the Bender home after 11 a.m. Tuesday. Huff funeral service. Mrs. Olive (Clark) Black of 424 Washington Street, Huntingdon, wife of Bertram I. Black, died at her home at 12:45 p.m. yesterday, April 19, 1948. She had been ill six weeks. She was born in McConnellstown on March 28, 1879, the daughter of William A. and Melinda Ellen (Houck) Clark. She was married to Bertram I. Black in 1901 in Huntingdon. Surviving are: her husband; a son, Paul H. Black of Ithica, N.Y.; and two sisters, Mrs. Lola Botteicher of Altoona and Mrs. Cora Fitzimons of Huntingdon. A sister and three brothers preceded her in death: Mrs. Margaret C. Custer and Russell, Harry and William Clark. Mrs. Black was a member of the first Methodist Church of Huntingdon. She belonged to the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights Templar and was a charter member of the Music Club. She also was active in the work of several civic organizations until ill health prevented. During her early life she taught piano. She was organist at the First Methodist Church for 25 years and previous to that time was organist in the Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held in the First Methodist Church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Ariel R. Turner will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Samuel Strain of Tyrone. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brown funeral home from 7 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Thursday and at the church after 11 a.m. Thursday until the service. Mrs. Etta B. Blackburn, an esteemed resident of Saxton, passed away at her home on Friday evening, September 10, 1948, at 8 p.m. She had been ill for some time. The deceased, wife of James Blackburn, was born in McConnellstown on June 20, 1874, a daughter of John and Sadie (Houck) Bupp. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. On February 21, 1895 she was united in marriage to James Blackburn at Cumberland, Md. She is survived by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. Ralph Reed of Saxton. Three grandchildren, Charlotte Reed of Saxton, Mrs. Thomas Stone of Everett and James McGee of Waterbury, Ohio, also survive. Mrs. Blackburn was a faithful member of the Saxton Church of God where she was a teacher in the Sunday School. She was highly respected in the community in which she resided. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Saxton Church of God. The Rev. Amon Siple will officiate and interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Saxton by the Robert E. Huff funeral service. Friends may call at her late residence until 10 a.m. Monday when the body will be taken to the church where it may be viewed until the hour of the service. Daniel Webster Brindle of Entriken R.D. died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, on Wednesday November 3, 1943, after a brief illness. The son of Jonathan Brindle and Rose Ann (Baker) Brindle, he was born in Lincoln Township on July 20, 1866. At time of death he was aged 77 years, 3 months and 13 days. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Louise Ann (Showalter) Brindle, whom he married on March 9, 1890. Also surviving are these sons and daughters: Charles E. Brindle, Roaring Spring; Clayton H. Brindle and Benjamin F. Brindle, both of Huntingdon; Ernest I. Brindle, Entriken; Mrs. Read Rishel, Alexandria; Mrs. George Donelson, Entriken, and one sister and one brother, Mrs. Jennie Lynn of Entriken, and Ernest F. Brindle, Altoona. He was a lifelong respected citizen of Entriken, a farmer by occupation. He was a member of the Entriken Evangelical and Reformed Church. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Saturday at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Entriken, the Rev. Charles Huyette and the Rev. Mr. Myers officiating. Friends are being received at the residence of Mrs. George Donelson, Entriken, until 11 a.m. Saturday at which time the body will be taken to the church. Interment will be made in Entriken Cemetery. Robert E. Huff funeral service. Mrs. Lila Pearl Brindle of Entriken died in the Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring at 4 p.m. yesterday, March 27, 1945. She was born in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, on October 17, 1897, the daughter of Wilbert and Bessie Morningstar. Surviving are her husband, George W. Brindle, to whom she was united in marriage on January 3, 1917, and these sons and daughters. Otis W. Brindle, Hummel; Mrs. Alfred Riley, Aitch; Mrs. Bertrin McCall, Baltimore, Md.; Mrs. Clinton Wolf, Aitch; Pvt. Harry D. Brindle, Camp Howze, Tex.; Seaman Gerald F. Brindle, somewhere in the south Pacific; Sarah M. Brindle, Aitch; Ralph E. Brindle, Lillian R. Brindle and Wanda J. Brindle, all at home. A son, Seaman 2c Randall Brindle was recently reported killed in action in the South Pacific. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Frederick Park, Huntingdon; Mrs. Peter Brulia, Turtle Creek; and Paul F. Cunningham, Huntingdon. Mrs. Brindle was a member of the Methodist Church, Entriken. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the Reformed Church at Entriken, the Rev. Dean Krepps officiating. Interment will be made in the Entriken Cemetery by Huff's funeral service. Friends may call at the late home after one o'clock Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Louisa Showalter Brindle died suddenly at her home in Entriken at 6 a.m. Friday February 4, 1944. She was a native of Pennsylvania and was born on January 26, 1869, the daughter of Henry Showalter and Sarah McCall Showalter, both of whom preceded her in death. At time of death Mrs. Brindle was aged 74 years and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Daniel Webster Brindle who preceded her in death on November 3, 1943. Surviving are these sons and daughters: Charles Brindle, Roaring Spring; Clayton Brindle, Huntingdon; Benjamin Brindle, Huntingdon; Ernest Brindle, at home with his mother in Entriken; Mrs. Read Rishel, Alexandria; and Mrs. George Donelson of Entriken. Fifteen grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Brindle moved to Entriken in 1919 and was a member of the Entriken Evangelical and Reformed Church. She was well-known and highly respected and will be missed by a large circle of friends. The body will be taken to the home of George Donelson, Entriken, where it will repose until 11 o'clock on Monday at which time it will be taken to the Evangelical and Reformed Church where the service will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon. The Rev. Charles Huyette of Marklesburg will officiate. Mr. Huyette will be assisted by the Rev. Paul Myers, pastor of the Methodist Church, Marklesburg. Huff funeral service. Interment will be made in Entriken Cemetery. James Brumbaugh, aged and respected resident of Hesston, died at his home on Thursday morning, May 20, 1948, at 4:30 o'clock. Death came after a lengthy illness. Born in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, December 18, 1865, he was aged at the time of death 82 years, 5 months and 2 days. He was a son of Peter Brumbaugh and Mary (Keith) Brumbaugh, and was united in marriage with Mary Stinson on June 10, 1911, at Huntingdon. He is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter Mrs. John Wagner of Altoona and Harry Brumbaugh of Hesston; 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and the following step-children: Mrs. David Kyles, Stanford Hunter and John Hunter, all of Huntingdon; Howard M. Hunter of Hesston and Gertrude Hunter of Marklesburg. Funeral services will be held at the James Creek Church of the Brethren on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Harold Knoll. Interment will be made in Brumbaugh Cemetery, James Creek R.D., directed by Huff's funeral service. Friends may call at the late residence. Funeral services for Joanne Bryan, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bryan, of Russellville, who was fatally injured on Sunday afternoon when struck by an automobile while crossing the highway near her home, will be held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Russellville Reformed Church. Interment in the nearby cemetery will be directed by Huff's funeral service. The community of Russellville is shocked by the tragic death of the little girl, who was a favorite of all who knew her, and the surviving relatives have their deepest sympathy. Harry Lewis Clarke of 1315 Sixth Avenue, Altoona, a well known retired Pennsylvania Railroad engineman, died yesterday afternoon, Sept. 24, 1947, at 5:55 o'clock. He was a Huntingdon County native. Born in McConnellstown on September 10, 1875, he was a son of William A. and Malinda Clarke. He married Mertie B. Ewing on June 20, 1895, at Newton Hamilton. Mr. and Mrs. Clarke celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary two years ago in June. Surviving are: four children, Col. Harry E. Clarke, Mrs. Hazel I. Schaff, Maj. Lester E. Clarke, home on furlough from Nancy, France, and Robert E. Clarke, all of Altoona; three sisters, Mrs. Olive Black and Mrs. Cora Fitzimmons, both of Huntingdon, and Mrs. Lola Botteicher of Altoona; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Two children, Samuel William and Alvin Roscoe, preceded him in death. Mr. Clarke was a member of the Third Presbyterian Church of Altoona. He belonged to the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Enginemen and the Dewey Camp of the Spanish American War Veterans. The funeral service will be held in the Laughlin funeral home, Altoona, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Austin V. Hunter will officiate. Further services will be held in the Newton Hamilton Presbyterian church at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Interment will be made in the Memorial Cemetery, Newton Hamilton. Friends amy call at the Laughlin funeral home. In loving memory of Robert E. Conley, who passed away on March 12, 1949. Nelta Gertrude Cornelius of Entriken R.D. died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital on December 23, 1945. She was born in Huntingdon County on December 6, 1908, the daughter of Arthur Cornelius and Pearl Fisher Cornelius. Surviving are the parents and four half-brothers and a half-sister: Arthur Fisher, Entriken; Herbert Fisher, Huntingdon; Paul Fisher, United States Army; Charles Fisher, Mount Union; and Miss Margaret Fisher, Laurelton, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Thursday at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in Marklesburg and interment will be made in the Entriken Cemetery. Friends may call at the Huff funeral chapel in Saxton until twelve o'clock Thursday. Miss Rachael E. Corbin passed away at 6:50 yesterday morning, Wednesday, December 22, 1943 at the home of James M. Lloyd in Hartslog Valley, where she has lived for the past forty years. She was the daughter of Lewis Corbin and Eleanor Shearer Corbin and was born in Mapleton on December 3, 1887. At time of death she was aged 56 years, and 19 days. She is survived by her step-mother, Mrs. Etta Corbin of Juniata Township, and the following half-brothers and half-sisters: Jesse Corbin, Mapleton; Charles and Carey Corbin, Huntingdon; Sherman Corbin of near Sunbury; Fred Corbin, Mrs. Nellie Rinker and Miss Eva Corbin of Juniata township; also a number of nieces and nephews. Surviving in the home where Miss Corbin resided are James M. Lloyd, Samuel Guyer and James Guyer. A full sister, Mrs. Maude Cogley of Harrisburg preceded her in death a number of years ago. She will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends as she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She had been a member of the McConnellstown Evangelical and Reformed Church since 1909 and was a regular attendant as long as her health permitted. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Evangelical and Reformed church, McConnellstown, at 2:30 on Friday, the Rev. Hobart D. McKeehan and the Rev. Charles Huyette officiating. Interment will be made at Mapleton. Brown's funeral service. Robert Mathias Cooper of 307 North Logan Boulevard, Altoona, died at his home at 9:30 Wednesday morning, Sept. 29, 1948, after a brief illness. He was born in McConnellsburg Feb. 5, 1889, a son of William and Rebecca (Kiser) Cooper. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Temple Lutheran Church of Altoona and had been employed for a number of years in the Altoona works tin shop. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was twice married, his first wife, Lena Krause, dying in 1916. Surviving are his second wife, Mrs. Iva Pearl (Reed) Cooper, and one step-son, C. Doyle Hess of Altoona. A son Richard Owen Cooper died in 1931. Also surviving are the following brothers and sister: Frank and Herbert of Altoona, Charles of Montana, Clarence of Scotland, Pa., Norman of McConnellsburg, Earnest of Chambersburg and Mrs. Ruth Thumma of Carlisle. Funeral services will be held Saturday in the Temple Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul O. Hamsher. Interment in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Altoona. Mrs. Mary Ann Crownover of Hesston died at her home at five o'clock this morning, August 13, 1946, after a lengthy illness. She was born on January 23, 1857, at Penn Township, Huntingdon County, the daughter of David and Elizabeth (Grubb) Norris. She was united in marriage with Joseph Crownover on January 10, 1886. Her husband died on June 13, 1935. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. George Hoover, of Hesston, three grandsons and seven great grandchildren. A member of the Hesston Christian Missionary Alliance Church, she was a very devout Christian. She held the respect of the entire community. The Rev. F.L. Hartzfeld will conduct the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at White Church Cemetery, Hesston, R.D. Friends may call at the late home after Thursday morning. Huff funeral service. Mr. and Mrs Victor Cutshall of 1302 Washington Street were notified by a telegram from the War Department on Sunday that their son, Pfc. Howard L. Cutshall, had been killed in action in Germany on February 27. Pfc. Cutshall was a former resident of Saltillo. He had never lived in Huntingdon, his parents having moved here since he entered the service on May 31, 1943. He received his training at Camp Campbell, Ky., and at Fort George G. Meade, Md., and left for overseas in June 1944. In March of 1944, he enjoyed a furlough with his parents. he landed first in England and later served in France, Belgium and Germany. He had been awarded the Expert Infantry Medal. Pfc. Cutshall had been serving with the Third Division of the First Army. At the time when he gave his life for his country he was with the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment. The latest letter received from Pfc. Cutshall was delivered last week. It had been mailed on February 22, five days before the young soldier was killed. Howard Cutshall was born in Three Springs on August 21, 1925. He attended the Saltillo schools and the Methodist Church of Saltillo. He was the only child of the Cutshalls. Surviving are his parents, his maternal grandfather, S.C.Snyder of Hustontown; and his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Lena Long of Hollidaysburg. Mrs. Ada A. Durbec, widow of Sidney W. Durbec, Kistler, died in the Lewistown Hospital at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, 1943, after an illness of three years. Mrs. Durbec, who suffered from a heart ailment, had been a patient in the hospital for four months. She was born in Johnstown on April 7, 1898, the daughter of Joseph H. Bressler and Mrs. Helen Ewell Bressler, both of whom are deceased. At time of death she was aged 45 years, 7 months, and 17 days. On May 27, 1919, at Newport, Ada A. Bressler became the wife of Sidney W. Durbec who preceded her in death on May 22, 1943. She had been a resident of Kistler for ten years and attended the Methodist Church at Mount Union. Surviving are these children: Cpl. Harold Bressler, Camp Attlebury, Ind.; Pvt. Louis Samuel Durbec, Camp Pickett, Va.; Charles Durbec, United States Navy, stationed at Sampson N.Y.; and two step children: Pvt. Sidney W. Durbec, Camp Perry, Va.; and Mrs. Helen Noble, Harrisburg. One grandchild also survives. The funeral will be held at the Blatt funeral home at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Rev. R.J. Abrams officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Mount Union. Friends may call at the Blatt funeral home. Sidney W. Durbec, Sr. died very suddenly at his home in Kistler at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1943. His death which was caused by a heart attack, was a great shock to his family. He died within a few minutes after he was stricken. Sidney W. Durbec was born on July 19, 1896, at Charleston, S.C., the son of Louis S. Durbec and Agnes E. (Hamm) Durbec, both of whom preceded him in death. At time of death he was aged 46 years, 10 months, and 3 days. Mr. Durbec was twice married. On July 19, 1916, at Tyrone, he wed Vera Bressler of Clearfield, who preceded him in death on December 13, 1918, leaving two children. On May 26, 1919, at Newport, he was united in marriage to Ada Arlene Bressler, a sister of his first wife. To this latter union also were born two children. Mr. Durbec was an accomplished musician. He served as music director at the Pennsylvania Industrial School for two years, was a member of Pennsylvania Railroad Band for several years and directed the McConnellstown Band for some years, continuing this position even after he went to Mount Union to live. During the past nine years he has been employed by the North American Refactories Company at Mount Union. Mr. Durbec was a member of the First Methodist Church, Mount Union. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ada Durbec, who has been an invalid for over a year, and these sons and daughters: Charles D.Durbec, at home; Sidney W. Durbec, Jr., Silver Ford Heights; Mrs. Helen Noble, Harrisburg; Louis S. Durbec, United States Army, stationed at Camp Davis, S.C. A foster son, Harold J. Bressler, United States Army, stationed at Camp Atterbury, Ind. Also surviving is one brother, Louis S. Durbec of Kistler. The body of Mrs. Leonard Elliot, formerly of Huntingdon, who passed away Saturday, July 3, 1943, in Phoenixville, will be brought to Huntingdon on Wednesday for burial. Mrs. Elliot was the former Gertrude States of McConnellstown. Her husband, who a number of years ago served as cashier at the freight office in Huntingdon, passed away some years ago. A brother, James States, resides in Huntingdon at 602 Washington Street. The body will be taken directly to Riverview Cemetery where a burial service will be conducted by the Rev. Edmund L. Manges, D.D. Brown's funeral service. Harry Alvin Fagan of 415 Second Street, Huntingdon, died at 1:30 a.m. Monday, November 1, 1943, in a hospital in Detroit, Michigan, after an appendectomy. He was born on July 3, 1886, the son of William E. Fagan and Mary E. DeArmitt Fagan, both deceased. At time of death he was aged 57 years, 3 months, and 29 days. He was united in marriage on November 27, 1907, to Mary Elizabeth Edmiston who survives to mourn his passing. Also surviving are these children: Lillian, Mrs. Richard Geissinger, Huntingdon; Anna, Mrs. Elmer Matson, Murraysville; Dorothy, Mrs. Richard States, Huntingdon; William E. Fagan, 2nd, Huntingdon; Letitia, Mrs. J. Furman Miller, Detroit, Mich.; Pfc. Ralph C. Fagan 2nd, who is serving with the United States Marines somewhere in the South Pacific; Samuel Donovan Fagan and Sally Ilene Fagan, at home; one brother and two sisters: Mrs. Anna Humberger and Mrs. Warren Barrick, both of Huntingdon; and Ralph C. Fagan, New York City; also twelve grandchildren, the eldest of whom, Pvt. Harry Alvin Christine, is serving with the Marine Corps. Fisher, an old and respected resident of Saxton, died at his home at 7 p.m. yesterday evening, November 8, 1945.He was born in Huntingdon County on November 22, 1855, the son of Christian Fisher and Catherine (Fisher) Fisher. On February 9, 1879, at Entriken, he was united in marriage to Harriet Helsel. Mrs. Fisher preceded him in death in 1943. Surviving are these sons and daughters: Mrs. Jesse M. Roles, Altoona; Mrs. Fred Chambers, Philadelphia; Mrs. Joseph Sakakine, Philadelphia; Otis Fisher, Philadelphia, and Perry Fisher, Saxton. Mr. Fisher was a man of fine Christian character and was highly regarded by all who knew him. He was keenly interested in the civic and political affairs of his community. He was a member of the official board of the Church of God, Saxton, and had been a member of that church for a number of years. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Sunday at the Robert E. Mrs. Harriet Fisher died at her residence in Saxton at 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 29, 1943, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Bedford County on September 2, 1860, the daughter of David Helsel and Matilda (Weaver) Helsel. At time of death she was aged 82 years, 6 months, and 27 days. On February 9, 1879, she was united in marrigae to David H. Fisher. On February 9 of this years the couple observed the 64th anniversary of their marriage. Survivors include her husband, David H. Fisher, and three daughters and two sons: Mrs. Jesse M. Roles, Altoona; Mrs. Joseph Sakakini, Philadelphia; Mrs. Fred Chambers, Upper Darby; James Otis Fisher, Darby; Perry Benton Fisher, Saxton. Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. J.C. Chilcote, Huntingdon; Mrs. Naomi Caldwell and Mrs. Florella Frank both of Miami, Fla.; and ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mrs. Fisher had been a lifelong member of the Church of God, Saxton. She was earnest in her Christian efforts and faithful in church attendance when health permitted. Fisher died suddenly at his home in Philadelphia on Thursday morning, July 15th, 1948, while eating breakfast. The son of Jackson Fisher and Sara Belle (Swope) Fisher, he was born in Lincoln Township on July 22, 1882. He later lived in Hesston, but for the past 19 years, made his home in Philadelphia. He was employed by the James G. Biddle Company in Philadelphia. He was united in marriage with Miss Bertha Jane Grubb who survives, together with these three children, all of Philadelphia, Lena at home, Mrs. William Nissley (Mabel), and Mrs. Titus Reimer (Hazel). Seven grandchildren also survive and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Linnie McCall of Williamsburg, Mrs. William Zacher of Martinsburg, Chester Fisher of Saxton, Mrs. Minnie Cunningham of Tyrone, Phillip Fisher and Blair Fisher of Hesston and Mrs. Blanche Rinker of Baltimore, Md. Funeral services were held at the Mulligan funeral home, Philadelphia, Saturday, July 17, at 1 p.m. with interment in Hillside Cemetery, Philadelphia. The service was conducted by the Rev. E. Clark. Lawrence Swope Fisher of Hesston R.D.1 died in the J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital at 9:20 a.m. yesterday, May 12, 1948. He had been suffering from a heart condition and had been a patient in the hospital since May7. Born May 15, 1886 in Lincoln Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of Jackson and Belle (Swope) Fisher. He was married to Miss Gladys Forshey Sept. 22, 1921, by the Rev. Irvin Brumbaugh in Penn Township. His wife is surviving along with the following brothers and sisters: Jackson Fisher, Philadelphia; Chester Fisher, Saxton; Blair and Philip Fisher, both of Hesston; Mrs. Minnie Cunningham, Tyrone R.D.; Mrs. Malina McCall, Williamsburg R.D.; Mrs. Blanche Rinker, Virginia; and Mrs. Annie Acker, Martinsburg R.D. Two sisters preceded him in death: Mary Fisher and Mrs. Maggie McCall. Mr. Fisher spent his entire life on his farm at White Church, near Hesston. He served as substitute mail carrier for 23 years. He was a good neighbor and was always one of the first to help in times of sickness or trouble. He was a member of the James Creek Brethren church. Friends are being received at the late home. Bechtel funeral service. Mrs. Mary Fisher, a lifelong resident of Entriken died at her home this Friday morning, March 20, 1942, at 6:00 o'clock. She was born April 12, 1879, in Todd Township, Huntingdon County, and was a daughter of Fred Crouse and Mary (Long) Crouse. At the time of death she was aged 62 years, 11 months and eight days. She was a member of the Methodist Church at Entriken and was active in church and community affairs. She was married on December 25, 1896, to Horatio C. Fisher, who survives with these children: Earl Fisher and Fred Fisher, both of Entriken; Mrs. Howard Emery and Mrs. Jay Mattern, both of Lewistown. Three sisters also survive: Mrs. Emma Hummel and Mrs. Silas Conlon, both of Huntingdon; Mrs. Blanchard C. Lytle, of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Entriken. Interment will be made in the Entriken cemetery. Friends may call at the Fisher home in Entriken any time after 3:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon. 1902 Mrs. Elizabeth Fleck died at the "Old Folks" Home at Shirleysburg on the 15th inet., aged 91 years. The deceased was a Miss Bolinger before her marriage with Mr. Fleck. The following children survive: Peter Fleck, Rockhill, Harry of Broad Top, Andrew_____;and Mrs. David Coble of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Benj. Coble of Williamsburg, and Mrs. William Rodgers of Aitch. She was a member of the Brethern Church. The funeral occurred the following Tuesday. Interment was made near James Creek. Miss Susan Fouse died at her home in Aitch R.D., at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 1944. She suffered a stroke last Wednesday and a heart attack followed. She was born on July 13, 1866, in Huntingdon County, the daughter of David and Margaret Summers Fouse. Her age at time of death was 77 years, 5 months, and 29 days. Miss Fouse, who lived in her own apartment at the home of her nephew, Clarence H. Fouse of Aitch R.D., is survived by a number of other nephews and nieces. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The funeral service will be held at the Evangelical and Reformed Church, Marklesburg, of which she was a member, at 11 o'clock Saturday morning. The Rev. C.A. Blair H. Garner of 507 Oneida Street died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital this morning, Wednesday, September 1, 1943 at 5:20 o'clock, after an illness of two weeks. He was employed by the Reeves Parvin Company. Fred W. Garner of 110 E. Walnut Ave., died at 11:15 p.m. yesterday at his home after a brief illness. He was born at Entriken Nov. 3, 1906, a son of John G. and Margaret (Shontz) Garner. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Flora (Hockenberry) Garner; one son, Fred P. of Pittsfield, Mass; four grand children, three brothers, George T. and John W. of the city and Bursey of Huntingdon; a half-brother and three half-sisters, Emory E. Brumbaugh, Mrs. Carl Hell of Altoona, Mrs. Lester Fouse of Entriken and Mrs. Maggie Wallace of Huntingdon RD. He was of the Methodist faith and employed as a welder in the Altoona Works planing mill. Friends will be received at the Axe funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Garner of Marklesburg passed away at 1:45 a.m. today, August 22, 1946, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Death resulted from heart disease. The daughter of John and Mary Summers, she was born in Entriken on July 26, 1874. She was married to Milton Garner on March 15, 1896, by the Rev. Shawlin. Surviving are her husband; three children, Blair Garner of Huntingdon R.D.2, Mrs. Stever Forshey of Huntingdon R.D.1 and Mrs. Edith Brindle of Aitch; three sisters, Mrs. John Riley and Mrs. Ida Stinson of Marklesburg and Mrs. Nancy Kyler of Hesston R.D.; eight grand children and four great grandchildren. One daughter Margaret Ruth preceded her in death. Mrs. Garner was educated in the Lincoln Township schools. She belonged to the Evangelical and Reformed Church of Marklesburg. A kindly and loving mother, she will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. The Rev. Mrs. Emma Graham of 532 Fifteenth Street, Huntingdon, passed away at 10:30 o'clock Saturday evening, March 20, 1948, in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient in the hospital for six days. Born on September 25, 1875, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of Barton and Loretta (Piper) DeForrest, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Graham was a resident of Huntingdon her entire life. Guy Graham, her husband, died in 1898. One son, Anson L. Graham of Huntingdon, survives as do 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. James Harris, passed away in 1940. Mrs. Graham was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Huntingdon. Green, of Aitch, Huntingdon County, died at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital at Huntingdon on Sunday morning, July 4, 1943, at 3 o'clock. He was employed as farmer for Mrs. Jane Haupt, at Aitch, at the time he was taken ill. Born at Donation on Sept. 15, 1874, he was aged at the time of death 68 years, 9 months and 19 days. He was a son of John A. Green and Rebecca (Logan) Green, both deceased. The greater part of his life was spent at McConnellstown. By occupation he was a farmer all his life. He was a member of the McConnellstown Methodist Church. Surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Alice Leabhart of 324 Allegheny Street, Mrs. D. H. Longenecker and Miss Elsie Green of 1120 Moore Street. Frederic Moore of the Fifteenth Street Methodist Church. Interment took place at the Donation Cemetery. Mrs. Charlotte Ann Grove of Aitch R.D., widow of Benjamin F. Grove, died at her home at 3:20 o'clock Wednesday morning, September 1, 1948. She was born in Martinsburg on January 31, 1862, a daughter of William and Nancy Reed. She was united in marriage with Benjamin F. Grove on March 11, 1880, in Huntingdon. Mr. Grove died in 1942. Three sons and one daughter survive: James and George and Mrs. George Kensinger, all of Aitch R.D., and William R. Grove, Juniata. There is also one brother, Harry A. Reed of Kansas, and 16 grandchildren. These children preceded her in death: Nancy, Mae, Grace and Blanche. Mrs. Grove was a member of the Marklesburg Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Marklesburg Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold S. Knoll officiating. Mrs. Kathryn Norris Grove, widow of John Grove, died at her home in Hesston R.D. on Saturday, October 9, 1943. She was born on March 24, 1855, in Penn Township, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Grubb Norris. At time of death she was aged 88 years, 6 months and 15 days. In January, 1877 in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Jacob Snyder she was united in marriage to John Grove, who preceded her in death. She is survived by one daughter Mrs. James Gell of Hesston R.D., seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Mrs. Grove was educated in the Penn Township schools and attended the Marklesburg Lutheran Church. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at White Church at Hesston Ridge, the cortege leaving the home of Mrs. James Gell at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Jerome Guss will officiate and interment will be made in the Young Cemetery. Homer A. Bechtel funeral service. Private Samuel J. Grove, son of J.H. Grove of 314 Mifflin Street, was killed in action in the Italian area June 1, 1944, and has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, by direction of the President of the United States. The post- humous award of Private Grove's Bronze Star Medal was made to his widow, Mrs. LaVeda Grove on March 1 at MacArthur Field, California. Mrs. Grove is residing at 1444 Lewis Ave., Long Beach, Cal. The citation in connection with the award of the medal revealed for the first time to the widow and Mr. Grove's parents the manner in which the young soldier, serving with the infantry, met his death. The citation reads: "For heroic achievement in action on 1 June, 1944 near Italy. When a rifle platoon assaulted a strong enemy position, Private Grove's machine squad attacked a few yards behind the riflemen. To give supporting fire, the machine gun was set up in an open field under enemy observation where, despite heavy enemy fire, Private Grove remained at his position until he and the entire crew were wounded. His courageous act merits high praise." Private Grove was inducted into the service at Altoona in September, 1943. He was sent to New Cumberland and then to Camp Wheeler, Ga., for his basic training. After a furlough with his wife in California and his parents in Huntingdon, he was sent to Fort Meade, Md., and in February, 1944, he went overseas. He was a member of Company I, 179th Infantry, in Italy. Pvt. Grove was one of Huntingdon's well known baseball players. He was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, and in June 1941, married LaVeda Hemphill of Huntingdon. He was employed in California at the time of his induction into the Army, and his wife and little daughter, Marilyn Grace, continued to reside in California when he entered the service. Mrs. Eleanor Pollick Grubb, widow of Harry Grubb, died at her home, 713 Mount Vernon Avenue, at 12:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, March 2, 1945. She had been in failing health for some time but had been bedfast for only one week. She was born on May 5, 1869 in Atkinsons Mills, the daughter of L.A. Pollick and Carla McCarthy Pollick. Eleanor Pollick was married on October 31, 1892, in Huntingdon, to Harry Grubb. Surviving are two sons and two daughters: Lane Grubb, McConnellstown; Harry Grubb, Altoona; Mary (Mrs. Jack Lutton), Ottumwa, Iowa; and Mrs. Fred Snare, Smithfield, with whom she made her home. One son died in infancy and another, Carl Grubb, was killed in an airplane crash on Piney Ridge in 1929. Also surviving are three brothers and one sister: Harry and Charles Pollick, and Margaret (Mrs. Edward Watson), all of Wilkinsburg; and Lloyd Pollick, Niagara Falls N.Y. There are seven grandchildren. Mrs. Grubb was a member of the Evangelical and Reformed Church, McConnellstown. She was also a member of the auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was a member of the Ladies' Aid of McConnellstown and of the McConnellstown Grange. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Monday at Brown's funeral home and interment will be made in McConnellstown. S-SERGT. Gerald I. Grubb---Another young soldier from Huntingdon County has paid the supreme sacrifice, according to a telegam received today by the Huntingdon Chapter, American Red Cross. The soldier who gave his life in defense of his country was Staff Sergeant Gerald I. Grubb, son of Mrs. Edythe L. Grubb of Aitch. He was killed in action in the North American area on March 30th. The young hero was 21 years old on October 8, 1942, and at that time he was on duty as first radio operator on a Consolidated bomber with the Air Corps in Alaska. Sergeant Grubb's father, J. Carl Grubb in deceased. Isaac G. Grubb, of R.D., Hesston, is his grandfather. A brother Cloyd Philip Grubb, was among the selectees who left Huntingdon on Thursday for the reception center at New Cumberland, to begin his army career. Sergeant Grubb is a graduate of Huntingdon High School, class of 1938. He enlisted in the Air Corps in March 1941. He received his training at Tampa, Fla,; Leavensworth, Kansas; Scott Field, Illinois, and March Field, Cal. The young aviator had several hundred hours in the air and had extensive experience in aerial combat. His squadron commander while he was still on duty in California, was Colonel Woods, who was commander of the late Capt. Colin P. Kelly. Many of Gerald's friends stationed in California at the time personally knew Captain Kelly. Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Grubb, widow of Thomas Grubb, died at the home of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Bertha Bupp, McConnellstown, Thursday morning, March 5, 1942, at 2;30 o'clock. Born in McConnellstown, May 22, 1868, a daughter of Solomon and Malinda (Yocum) Bupp, she is survived by two sisters, Mrs. John Hamer, Altoona, and Mrs. John Robb, South Huntingdon. Mrs. Grubb was a member of the McConnellstown Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 tomorrow afternoon at the McConnellstown Church in charge of the Rev. Paul Rowland. Interment in McConnellstown Church cemetery. Friends are being received at the Laughlin funeral home in Altoona until noon tomorrow and at the McConnellstown church from 1 o'clock until 3 o'clock tomorrow. Pfc. Neil Rodger Haney, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Haney of Williamsburg R.D. met death in Stuttgart, Germeny, on October 1, 1945, when the air plane in which he was a passenger, crashed on a hill. He had been over seas just a year. Pfc. Haney entered the service in July, 1943, and went to New Cumberland. Later he went to Camp Shelby, Miss., and then to Camp Hawn, Calif. He left for overseas in October 1944. He had served in the anti-air-craft division and was just recently transferred to the Ninth Air Force. He was stationed at Merrille, France at the time of his tragic death. Pfc. Haney wore the Good Conduct Ribbon and the ETO ribbon with two battle stars. In a letter which he wrote to his parents on September 28, he stated that he had been transferred to the air corps and was doing "some real flying." He spoke of looking forward to his return home and talked of the job he hoped to get. Neil Rodger Haney was the son of George S. Haney and Ethel Lillian (Everhart) Haney and was born in Huntingdon on February 27, 1925. Most of his life was spent in Williamsburg and vicinity. He finished his grade school education at Cove Forge schools and attended Williamsburg high school. Spitler F. Harris of Marklesburg, R.D., died at his home at 4 o'clock Saturday morning, May 8, 1943. Born June 4, 1884, in Augusta County, Virginia, he was aged 58 years, 11 months and 4 days. He was the son of Pryor H. Harris and Ella J. Yount Harris, both of whom are deceased. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth F. (Brown) Harris, survives as do four children: Mrs. Roy Kyle, Marklesburg; Miss Mary Harris and John Harris at home; Mrs. William P. Brown, Waynesboro, Va. Also surviving are three brothers: the Rev. John P. Harris, Boswell; B.M. Harris, Staunton, Va.; and George R. Harris, New Haven, Va. The deceased was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Marklesburg. The body was shipped Saturday evening to Waynesboro, Va., for burial. Funeral services were conducted this afternoon by the Rev. H.W. Kauffman of Staunton, Va. Mrs. Florence Anna Rice Hess of McConnellstown Road, wife of Glenn W. Hess, died at 8:34 a.m. today May 6, 1946, at her home. Born in Altoona on October 31, 1900, Mrs. Hess was the daughter of W.H. and Daisy (Kelly) Rice. She was married to Glenn W. Hess on November 28, 1927. Surviving are her parents who live in Juniata, her husband, and these brothers and sisters: Ralph Rice, Altoona; Frank Rice, Allentown; Mrs. Jennie Ritchey, Mrs. Grace Bryner, and Mrs. Thelma Kauffman, all of Juniata. Mrs. Hess was a faithful member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Huntingdon. She belonged to the Von Bora Sunday School Class. The Rev. E.L. Manges of the Huntingdon Lutheran Church will conduct brief services at the late home at 10 a.m. Thursday, and further services will be held at the Mauk and Yates funeral home in Juniata at 3 p.m. when the Rev. Ralph Birk of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata, will be in charge. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery in Juniata. Friends will be received at the late residence from 12 noon Tuesday until 11 a.m. Thursday. Samuel Hess, 85, retired employe of the Huntingdon and Broad Top Railroad, died at his home in Entriken at noon yesterday, March 16, 1948, after a lengthy illness. Until his retirement in 1933, Mr. Hess was foreman of maintenance of ways for the railroad in whose employ he was for 54 years. He belonged to the Railroad Brotherhood. He was a life member of the Entriken Evangelical and Reformed Church. Six children are surviving: Mrs. Joseph Miller, Lewistown; George W. Hess, Everett; Mrs. Nancy Quarry, Altoona; Mrs. C.H. Criswell, Williamsburg; Samuel B. Hess, McConnellstown; and Mrs. David Wilkins, Acme. Three brothers are also surviving: Charles R. Hess, Hummel; James Hess, Sandusky, Ohio; and Harry Hess, Entriken. Born in Walker Township on May 24, 1862, Mr. Hess was the son of John and Elizabeth (Ruple) Hess. He married Martha Querry on June 10, 1883. Mrs. Hess died 31 years ago. The funeral service will be held in the Entriken Evangelical and Reformed Church at 3:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Charles Huyette will officiate. Burial will be made in the Entriken Cememtery. Friends may call at the Huff funeral home, Saxton, and after 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the late home. Mrs. Samuel B. Hess of McConnellstown passed away in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital Friday evening, January 7, 1944, death being caused by pneumonia. She had been ill only a short time. Mrs. Hess was born on March 8, 1908, the daughter of Edmund Garner, deceased and Elizabeth Garner, of Hesston. She was educated in the township schools and was graduated from Saxton Liberty High School in 1925 after which she was a successful teacher in the Penn Township School. Dora Almeda Garner was united in marriage to Samuel B. Hess of Entriken on September 30, 1927. In early girlhood she joined the Lutheran church at Marklesburg, and later transferred her membership to the Evangelical and Reformed church at McConnellstown where she was a faithful member. She is survived by her mother, her husband, and the following children: Earl, Paul, Dale, Dorine and Dean, all at home. These brothers and sisters also survive: Blanche, Mrs. John Corbin, Grace, Mrs. Clayton Brindle, both of Huntingdon; Chloe, Mrs. Robert Grubb, Clyde Garner and W. Kenneth Garner, all of Hesston; Evaline, Mrs. Kenneth Hinkle, Three Springs. She will be sadly missed in the community in which she lived and by a large circle of friends and relatives. She was a kind neighbor and a faithful wife and a loving mother and her untimely death has brought sorrow to many. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Monday afternoon in the Evangelical and Reformed church, McConnellstown. Interment will be made in McConnellstown by Huff's funeral service. Wanda Kay Hess, infant daughter of Isaac E. and Lois (Fisher) Hess of McConnellstown, died in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital on Sunday, Oct. 17, 1948. She was born in Liberty Township, Bedford County, on April 3, 1948. She is survived by her parents and a brother and sister, Patricia and Ronald at home. The funeral service was conducted this afternoon at the home of the maternal grandfather, George Fisher, McConnellstown. The Rev. William Burns officiated and interment was made in Entriken Cemetery. Ellsworth Hicks of 410 Moore Street passed away at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital at 11:45 Sunday evening, April 18, 1943. Mr. Hicks fell at his home and fractured his leg on March 23, since which time he had been a patient in the hospital. Ellsworth Hicks was born in Hartslog Valley on April 17, 1861, the son of John C. Hicks and Susan (Coulter) Hicks. At time of death he was aged 82 years and 1 day. Surviving are two sons, Elton W. Hicks, of Mount Union and Ira Hicks of Chicago, Ill. A son, Cloyd S. Hicks of Huntingdon is deceased. Also surviving are one brother, Milford Hicks, Huntingdon, four grandchildren: Jean Hicks, Huntingdon; William Hicks, United States Navy; Mrs. Martha Virginia Sadosuk, Mount Union; and Allen Wallace Hicks, Officers' Triaining School, Fort Benning, Ga.; and three great grandchildren. His wife, Mrs. Virginia (Snare) Hicks, whom he married 56 years ago, died in 1917, and a brother, Thomas Hicks, passed away twenty years ago. Mr. Hicks was employed by the Broad Top Railroad until his retirement about ten years ago. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Huntingdon. Funeral services will be held at Brown's Funeral Home at 2:30 on Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. Samuel W. Strain officiating. Interment will be made in McConnellstown Cemetery.
