Garner, 48, of 808 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon, died unexpectedly at 8:45 p.m., Saturday, March 13, 1976 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past few weeks, and a patient at the hospital since March 1. Miss Garner had been a teacher at the William Smith Elementary School in Huntingdon since 1953. She was a fourth grade instructor at the time of her death, but during her career, she had taught all grades at the school. Miss Garner ws well known for her work with special atttention children. Whenever former school principal Thomas Rupert had been absent from his position, Miss Garner was called upon to fill in for him. She had herself been educated in the Huntingdon public schools, graduating from Huntingdon High School in 1945. In 1953, she received her degree fro Juniata College. Miss Garner was born December , 1927 at Huntingdon. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. David (Margaret) Kean, R.D. 2; Huntingdon, and a cousin Bentley I. English, Reedsville. Miss Garner and Mr. English had been reared together. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Huntingdon, where she was quite active in church affairs. In addition, she was chariman of the Emergency Shelter, under the direction of the Huntingdon Chapter, American Red Cross. Miss Garner also belonged to the PSEA. Her entire life had been spent in the Huntingdon area. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Mrs. Hazel G. Keith, 72, of Orbisonia died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 1976 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Carothers, 3213 Ashlyn Sreet, Pittsburgh. She had been in failing health for the past three years. Born Aug. 17, 1903 in Rockhill Furnace, she was a daughter of Richard and Ada (Rutter) Kidley. She married R. Blaine Keith of Rockhill Furnace, who preceded her in death Feb 14, 1955. Surviving children are Mrs. John (Arlene) Carothers, Pittsburgh; Richard M. Keith, Geneva, N.Y.; Mrs. Carl (Shirley) Rhone, Hershey and Mrs. Lee (Nancy) Fogal of Newark, Del. A son, Larry, is deceased. Eleven grandchildren and one great[grandson survive as does a sister, Mrs. Evea Wear of Rockhill Furnace. Mrs. Keith was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary to Madden-Wennick Post No. 518, American Legion, Orbisonia. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. Mrs. E. Hazel Kyle, 74, of 404 Seventh Street, Huntingdon died Wednesday, July 10, 1968, at 1:10 p.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been in failing health for the past year and a half. Born December 25, 1893, at Mill Creek, she was a daughter of John A. and Margaret (Peightal) Trimble. She was united in marriage to Andrew E. Kyle on June 14, 1945, at the Lutheran Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. Mr. Manges. Her husband survives, along with three children: Harry A. Long, Jr., Niagara Falls, NY.; Clyde E. Long, Bellefone, and Mrs. Richard (Betty) Wisotzkey, Huntingdon. There are four grandchildren. Also surviving are these sisters: Mrs. Harry (Leone) Mensing, Mifflintown; Mrs. George (Naomi) Kauffman, Mifflintown and Mrs. John (Helen) Newcombe, Huntingdon. Two brothers preceded her in death. The deceased was a member of the Smithfield Community Bible Church. Most of her life was spent in the Huntingdon area. Interment will be made in Mountainview Cemetery at Mill Creek. Helen Snyder Kerchersky, 70, 318 North Jefferson Street, Mount Union, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 1976 in J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following a year's illness. A native of Mount Union, she was born May 5, 1905 to John William and Mary (Sheath) Reck. She was twice married; first to Melvin L. Snyder on Nov. 17, 1923, who died Feb. 17, 1933 and second to Charles Kerchersky on Sept. 11, 1953, who survives. Surviving also are the following children: Melvin S. Snyder, Sr., of Mount Union, Mrs. William (Judy) Morder of Huntingdon R.D. 3 and four grandchildren. A brother and sister; Lawrence Reck of Harrisburg and Lela Clemm of Dauphin, survive. Mrs. Kershersky was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union. She had been employed by the L.C. Grief Co for 10 years. Interment will be made in the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. Herbert T. Grey, Sr. 77, of 1412 Washington Street, Huntingdon died Monday, March 27, 1972 at 1:30 p.m. in the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, where he had been a patient since March 18. Grey had been in failing health for the past two months. He was born in Philadelphia on June 23, 1894, a son of James and Gertrude (Sankey) Grey. On April 9, 1945, he was united in marriage to Mae Wilson. His wife survives, along wit two sons to previous marriages. Herbert T. Grey, Jr., Mounted Route, Huntingdon and James M. Grey, Huntingdon R.D.2. There are two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The deceased was an only child. He was of the Methodist faith. Grey was a life member of the Huntingdon Hook and Ladder Fire Company. He had been employed by the Pennsylvania Electric Company, beginning his association on March 1, 1924, aand retiring as a crew clerk due to disability in 1955. Most of his life was spent in the Huntingdon area. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Homer O. Curfman, 64, of Hesston R.D., died at 10:15 p.m. Monday, August 7, 1972. He had been in failing health for the past three years. He was born June 14, 1908, in Dysard, Cambria Co., the son of Elba and Martha J. (Aurand) Curfman. He was united in marriage to Helen Lang on March 30, 1929, in Cumberland, Md. He is survived by his wife, a sister, two children, three grandchildren and one great- grandchild. His sister is Mrs. Gladys Stapff, of Hyattsville, Md., and the children are H. Richard Curfman, Coudersport, and Mrs. Kenneth (Velma) Peoples, Hesston R.D. Surviving grandchildren are Debbie Hess and Richard and Karen Curfman, and the great-grandchild is Kenneth Hess. He was a member of the McConnellstown United Church of Christ congregation and Sunday School. For a number of years he was an employee of Owen-Corning Fiberglas, Inc., and later served of Highways, from which he retired in March, 1971. Intement will take place in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Hope N. Rutter, 418 Penn Street, Huntingdon died at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Aug 27, 1967 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Aug.15. She been in failing health for several years. The deceased was born in Orbisonia on Oct. 31, 1901, a daughter of Harvey E. and Mary (Malone) Rutter. She is survived by two brothers and one sister: John H. Rutter, Bellefonte, Charles W. Rutter, Huntingdon, R.D.3, and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Adams, Huntington W. Va. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She also belonged to the WSCS of the church and the Order of Eastern Star. Most of her life was spent in Huntingdon. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School, Class of 1920, and had served as a saleswoman in a number of Huntingdon dress shops over the years. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Mrs. Ida Elvada Black, 74, of Three Springs, R.D., died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 1973 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. A guest at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home since the first of April, she had been seriously ill for the past 9 days. A daughter of Franklin B. and Maude (Hann) Booher, she was born January 6, 1899 at Three Springs, R.D.2. She was married to Homer Scott Black of Three Springs, Star Route, on January 16, 1918, in Three Springs by Justice of the Peace T.A. Weight. Surviving are her husband and these children: Mrs. Aulden (Elvada) Stake, Three Springs; Dallas S., Three Springs, R.D. 1; and Emmitt G., Mapleton R.D.1. There are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Sigel and Norman, both of Port Royal; Lloyd, McVeytown, R.D.2, Mrs. Edwinna Foore and Mrs. Ruth Cutshall, both of Saltillo and Mrs. Grace Betzel, Shippensburg. Three brothers, one half-brother and two half-sisters preceded in death. Mrs. Black was of the Methodist faith. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery at Three Springs, R.D. Mrs. Iona I. Horne, 43, of Hightstown, N.J., formerly of Kistler, died on December 14, in the St. Peter's Hospital at Brunswick, N.J., after an illness of two years. Mrs. Horne was born at Tyrone, Blair County, July 17, 1925, a daughter of Mrs. Anna Treaster of Mount Union and the late Floyd Treaster. While living in the Mount Union area, she was employed by the Mount Union Manufacturing Company. She is survived by her husband, Harry N. Horne; two children, Mrs. Irvin (Barbara) Marriett of Jamestown, N.J. and Harry N. Horne, Jr., with the United States Navy; six sisters, Mrs. James l. (Valda) Freed of Lewistown, R.D. 3; Mrs. Alfred (Vivian) Benner of Alexandria, Va., Mrs. Palmer (Caroline) Snook of McClure, R. D. 2; Mrs. Charles (Regina) Starr of Avon, N.Y., Mrs. Harry (Anna) Smith of Mount Union and Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) King of Alabama, a brother, Eugene Treaster of Harrisburg and one grandson. Interment will be made in Mechanicsburg. James Sylvester Cowan, 69, of Orbisonia, Star Route, died at 7:20 a.m., Friday, February 22, 1974 at his home in Black Log Valley. He had been in failing health for five months. Born March 28, 1904 at Robertsdale, R.D., he was the son of Samuel and Lessie (Flasher) Cowan. On September 15, 1925 he was married to the former Mary E. Morgan of Shirley Township in the Church of the Brethren Parsonage at Rockhill Furnace by the Rev. Alexander M. Stout. His wife survives, along with three children, James K., Orbisonia, R.D.; Mrs. Harry (Mary Ruth) Snyder, Elizabethtown and H. Edward, Thompsontown. There are 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One son is deceased. There are two half-sisters, Mrs. Mary Guyer, Fort Loudon and Mrs. Lecada Shields, Mount Union, R.D. Mr Cowan belonged to Shirleysburg Grange 119 and the Valley Point Church of the Brethren, Orbisonia, R.D. where he was a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He had worked as a farmer and was employed by Harbison-Walker in Mount Union for 15 years, and for 17 years with the Pennsylvania Highway Department, for which he was retired. Burial will be in the Shope Cemetery, Orbisonia, RD. James E. Grissinger, 85, of Allenport, R.D. , Mount Union died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, November 12, 1975 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for the past two years. A native of Fulton County, he was born February 20, 1890 to James L. and Elizabeth (Bridenstine) Grissinger. He was married to the former Belle M. Starr in Virginia by the Rev. Robert Taylor. Surviving are his widow and three daughters, Mrs. James (Connie) Dell, Berkeley Springs, W. Va.; Mrs. Lewis (Wanda) Acri, Harrisburg and Mrs. Andrew (Iona) Ogurchak, Glassport. There are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr. Grissinger was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He belonged to the Mount Union Presbyterian Church. In 1970, he retired from his position as maintenance foreman at the Mount Union Manufacturing after 50 years service. The deceased served during World War I in France and was a member of VFW Post No. 5754 and American Legion Post No. 107, both in Mount Union. Burial will be in the Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. James Luther Hardy, 57, of Allenport, Mount Union R.D., died early Friday morning, June 20, 1969. He had been recuperating from a heart attack when he became ill late Thursday night. He was pronounced dead on arrival at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Hardy was born on August 16, 1912, in Mount Union, R.D., a son of William and Annie (Wenzel) Hardy. He was united in marriage to Margaret Locke on August 14, 1932 at Hagerstown, Md. His wife survives with two sons, Ronald James of Newton Hamilton and Michael Roe of Erie. Surviving brothers and sisters are Mrs. Paul Alkins of Saltillo, Mrs. Fred Chucheck of Clearfield and Clyde of Mount Union, R.D. Two grandchildren, Stephen J. and Michele, also survive. Hardy was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church and was employed with North American Refractories for over 41 years. Interment will be made at Orbisonia IOOF. James H. Kyle Sr., of Smithfield Township, Huntingdon R.D.3 died early this morning, Saturday, September 21, 1968 at 12:20 o'clock in the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for the past four years and death occurred shortly after he had been admitted to the hospital last evening. Born August 24, 1891, at James Creek, he was a son of Anthony and Elmira (Grove) Kyle. He was united in marriage to Verna A. Hamm on February 11, 1919 at Huntingdon. His wife survives, along with these children: James H. Kyle, Jr., Cloyd H. Kyle and Mrs. Sylvia Stitt, all of Huntingdon R.D.3 and Robert Kyle of Center Union. There are 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The deceased was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. He was of the Protestant faith. Kyle was a veteran of World War I, having served with the U.S. Army. He was employed with the Lester J. MacDonald firm, retiring in 1964, after 20 years service. His entire life was spent in the Huntingdon area. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Miss Jennie Beers, 85, of Three Springs R.D. died early Monday morning, July 12, 1965 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She was born in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County on June 28, 1880, a daughter of John J. and Mary E. (Flasher) Beers. Surviving is one brother, John H. Beers of Rockhill Furnace R.D. and a number of nieces and nephews. The deceased was a member of the McKendree Methodist Church at Three Springs R.D. Interment will be made in Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia R.D. John Thomas Cummins of Orbisonia died Thursday, December 24, 1964 at 6 a.m. at his home. He had been in failing health for the past year. Born October 12, 1902 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of Francis K. and Clara M. (Caulfield) Cummins. He was united in marriage to Eunice L. Grove of Cromwell Township on March 24, 1922 by the Rev. L.M. Brady in a ceremony at the Huntingdon Methodist Parsonage. His wife survives along with the following children: Kenneth A. Cummins, Orbisonia; A. Gerald Cummins, Orrstown; Miss Helen E. Cummins, Orbisonia and Mrs. Donald (LaRue) DeArmeni, Granville. There are four grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters: Mrs. Georgianna Hileman, Huntingdon; Mrs. Ruth Zargan, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Martha Whitsel, Altoona, Mrs Esther Keller, Shirleysburg; R.D. and Mrs. Nora Velner, Orbisonia. Mr. Cummins was of the Protestant faith. During his lifetime he followed the occupation of mechanic. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. Mr. John Jacka died at his home in Sipestown Saturday, Nov. 13, 1915, at the age of 71 years, 10 months and 21 days. Mr. Jacka had been in delicate health the past few years but for a week prior to death he seemed much better until Wednesday to took his bed and the children were called home and all that medical aid or loving hands could do was of no avail. Mr. Jacka was born at Lands End England, coming to this country a young man. He was married to Miss Margaret E. Wilson about 43 years ago, to this unon there were eight children born . John Jacka, of Winber: Robert Jacka, of Sipestown; William of Juniata; Bennie of Mt Union; Mable, Mrs. John Jamison, of Spruce Creek and Wilbert at home. Mr. Jacka was a kind father, a good husband and neighbor and will be sadly missed in the home by his companion. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon by Rev. Kline, pastor of the McKendree church of which he was a faithful member after which the remains were laid to rest in Jordan cemetery. We miss thee from our home, dear Father. We miss thee from our place. A shadow o'er our life is cast. We miss the sunshine of thy face. John Gagermeier, 86, of 1418 Scott Streeet, Huntingdon died early this Thursday morning, February 7, 1974, at 2:30 o'clock at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home where he had been a resident since March 5, 1973. He had been in failing health for the past two years. Gagermeier was born in Bavaria, Germany on November 19, 1887, son of Joseph and Mary (Maier) Gagermeier. He was united in marriage to Sadie E. Shaw on June 24, 1924 at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon by the Rev. James A. Tolan. His wife survives, along with these brothers and sisters; Samuel Gagermeier, Altoona; Joseph Gagermeier, Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Moran and Mrs. Carl (Katie) Mills, all of Huntingdon. One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. The deceased was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He had been employed for 25 years by the State Correctional institution at Huntingdon and following his retirement, had worked for ten years as a member of the maintenance department at Juniata College. Gagermeier came to the United States in May, 1890 and resided at Altoona until 1913, when he came to Huntingdon to live. Interment will be made in Holy Cross Cemetery, Huntingdon. John Joseph Jacka, aged 68 years, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Melvin Irvin, in Mapleton Depot on Saturday, April 20, 1946. Death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. John Joseph Jacka was a son of John and Margaret (Wilson) Jacka, both deceased, and was born January 3, 1878, in Trenton, Illinois. The family moved to Huntingdon County in the year 1882. Mr. Jacka joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1889 and served three years in the Philippine Islands at the time of the insurrection. He was honorably discharged Sept. 12, 1904, in Washington D.C. He was united in marriage with Miss Nora Pearl Seese of Johnstown, Pa. on Sept. 22, 1904. His wife preceded him in death in 192-. Four children survive: Thelma, wife of Clint Brown, of Greenville, S.C; John, a Captain in the U.S. Army Air Corps stationed at Dayton, Ohio; George, of Baltimore, Md. and Margaret, with whom he made his home. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Jacka, of Three Springs and one sister, Mrs. Mabel Jamison, of Huntingdon. Four brothers, James, Benjamin, Wilbert and William preceded him in death. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Mr. Jacka was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was formerly employed by Berwind-White Company of Windher, Pa. Funeral services will be conducted at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Melvin Irvin, in Mapleton Depot on Tuesday afternoon at 12:30 o'clock. The Rev. George Ritchey of the Mapleton Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be made in the Richland Cemetery at Geistown, near Windher, directed by Green's Funeral Service. John K. Whitsel, 88, of Federal Drive, Mount Union, died Wednesday, November 8, 1967 at 9:50 p.m. at Shirleysburg. Born in Monroe Valley, Cromwell Township on September 22, 1879, he was a son of Adam and Matilda Whitsel. He was united in marriage to Rilla Jane Booher in 1906; she preceded him in death April 7, 1931. Surviving are the following children: Shade Whitsel and Mrs. Grace King, both of Mount Union; Paul Whitsel, of Orbisonia R.D. and Harvey Whitsel of Rockhill Furnace. There are 25 grandchidlren and 34 great-grandchildren. The deceased was the last surviving member of his immediate family He was of the Protestant faith. He had been a farmer and coal miner during his lifetime, and was last employed by the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company, retiring in 1947. Interment will be made in Jordan Cemetery Joseph R. Mitchell, 64, Box 125A, Mount Union R.D., died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, 1980 in the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 25, 1915 in Orbisonia, he was the son of J. Watson and Bula (Rabinstine) Mitchell. His mother of Mount Union R.D. survives. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. George (Susan) Barr of Orbisonia; Paul Mitchell of Mount Union R.D.; Donald Mitchell of Tuckerton, N.J.; and Mrs. Ross (Doloris) Flood and Mrs. James (Mary) Derricck, both of Chambersburg. Two brothers preceded him in death. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mount Union. He worked as a farmer for most of his life. Intement will be made in Jordan Cemetery, Star Route, Orbisonia. Juniata Teressa Ott, 73, Orbisonia, died unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 1973, in the Lewistown Hospital. She was born Dec. 3, 1899 at Orbisonia, R.D. , a daughter of William M. and Virginia F. (Anderson) Brodbeck. She was united in marriage to Philip D. Ott of Orbisonia. In addition to her husband, she is survived by these five children: Raymond W. Ott, Orbisonia; Clayton E. Ott, East McKeesport; Janvier F. Ott, Orbisonia, R.D.; Kenneth W. Ott, Portsmouth, Ohio, and Mrs. James (Carolyn) Norris, Hershey. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren also survive, along with these two sisters ansd one brother: J. Russell Brodbeck, Wampum; Mrs. Muriel Vandersall, Pittsburgh and Mrs. Della Brodbeck, Orbisonia, R.D. Two sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church. Interment will be in the Orbisonia Cemetery. June Lenora Rhodes of Three Springs, wife of the Rev. Charles F. Rhodes, pastor of the Three Springs EUB Charge passed away at 3:05 p.m. on Friday, December 18, 1959, in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital for the past five weeks and had been seriously ill for four months prior to her death. She was born August 24, 1925, at McKees Rocks, a daughter of Arthur James and Cora Bell (Appleby) Rogers. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Charles Fern Rhodes of Mount Union on January 19, 1944, at Mapleton Depot with the Rev. E.E. Dunkelberger of the EUB Church officiating. Her husband survives along with her parents of Rockhill Furnace and three children, Carol Jean, Sandra Lee and Charles Frederick, all at home. Also surviving are three sisters, Dora Mae Rogers of Three Springs, R.D., Mrs. Wilber (Ruth Ann) Wilson of Johnstown, Wanda Rogers of Rockhill Furnace, and one brother, Leonard Rogers of New Orleans, La. One sister Audrey preceded her in death. Mrs. Rhodes was a member of the Three Springs EUB Church, the Ladies Aid and was a teacher of the junior class in the church. She had attended the Orbisonia schools. The deceased was a former employe of the Mount Union Manufacturing Company and of the Rockhill Post Office. The Rev. and Mrs. Rhodes have been serving the Three Springs Charge for the past six years. (Part of the obit is missing and does not identify where she was buried. DW) A former Huntingdon resident, Mrs. Kathryn Woertz Doebele, wife of Dr. William A. Doebele was found dead Saturday morning, Sept. 26, 1970, at her home, 441 Ledo Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. While she had had a heart condition for several years, she was in her usual health prior to her passing. She and Dr. Doebele had visited friends Friday evening and Mrs. Doebele did not complain of being ill. She died in her sleep and she was found dead by her husband. Dr. Doebele was a well known physician-surgeon in Huntingdon for about 28 years. He came to Huntingdon in 1920 and was associated with the late Dr. H.C. Chisolm at 530 Penn Street. After Dr. Chisolm's death, Dr. Doebele moved his offices to Sixth and Penn Streets where he practiced until he retired in January, 1948. The following summer they sold their home, Fairmont, to Dr. and Mrs. Frederic H. Steele and moved to Ocean City, N.J. where they lived for five years until moving to Fort Lauderdale because of Mrs. Doebele's health. The deceased, a native of Upper Darby, is survived by her husband and two sons, William, a professor of regional planning at Harvard University and John, a school psychologist in Northern New Jersey. She also is survived by five grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Helene Schoal of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Kenneth Leslie Scott, 66, of Rockhill Furnace died unexpectedly Tuesday, January 17, 1967 at 6:45 p.m. at his home. He had been ill for the past three weeks. Born at Shade Gap January 4, 1901, he was a son of Frank and Ella (Steward) Scott. He was united in marriage to Vera L. Gutshall of Orbisonia at the Fifteenth Street Methodist Church in Huntingdon October 18, 1937, by the Rev. Mr. Boggs. Surviving are his wife and three sons: Ralph Eddie Scott, at Hagerstown Junior College, Hagerstown, Md.; John L. Scott, California State College, California, Pa. and Kenneth N. Scott, Thompson Schoool of Business, York. Also surviving are the following brother and sisters: Harold Scott, Orbisonia; Miss Mildred Scott, West Chester; Mrs. Helen Gilliland, Pittsburgh and Miss Hope Scott, West Chester. The deceased was a member of the Methodist Church at Orbisonia and was quite active in church affairs. He was president of the IOOF Memorial Cemetery Association and was also serving as treasurer of the Rockhill TV Antenna Association at the time of his death. He was a member of the Lions Club. During his lifetime he was a carpenter and proprietor of the Ken Scott and Sons cabinetmaking and woodworking business at Rockhill Furnace. Interment will be made in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery at Rockhill Furnace. Mrs. Lavada O. Creswell, of Todd, died Sunday, February 6, 1972 at 11:45 a.m. in J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been in failing health for the past three months. Born May 17, 1910 in Beavertown, she was a daughter of David O. and Sara (Rabenstine) Saylor. She was united in marriage to A. Fred Creswell on June 29, 1929 at Beavertown. Her husband survives, along with the following children: Glenn and Robert, both of Cassville; David R. , Mount Union; Dorothy A. Querry, Hollidaysburg; Carl J. , Three Springs; Roy E., McConnellstown, Mrs. Larry (Jane) Ford, Altoona; and 11 grandchildren. A daughter, Sara Mae, preceded her in death. Also surviving is a brother, James Saylor of Todd. Mrs. Creswell was a member of the Beavertown Church of God. Interment will be made in Beavertown Cemetery. Mrs. Leah (Arnold) Rhodenizer, 56, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 4, 1968, at 8:30 AM at her home in Mapleton. Born June 2, 1912, in Mapleton, she was a daughter of George W. and Elsie (Cramer) Arnold. She married James F. Rhodenizer; he preceded her in death on December 25, 1964. Five children survive: Mrs. Fred (Pearl) Park, Mapleton R.D.; Mrs. Terry (Alice) Clevenger, Mapleton; Paul Rhodenizer, Reading; William F. Rhodenizer, Mill Creek; and Mrs. Lewis (Viola) Lantz, Mapleton. Three sons and a daughter preceded her in death. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Steel and a brother, Harry Arnold, both of Mapleton. The deceased was a member of the Mapleton United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Mapleton American Legion Auxiliary and was a Gold Star Mother. For the past 25 years she worked for the Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation and had just completed plans to retire on disability, as of September 1, 1968. Interment will be made in the Mapleton IOOF Cemetery. Lecada Shields, 66, Mount Union, R.D., died Monday, Jan 13, 1975, at 6:30 p.m. at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness. She was born Feb. 11, 1908 in Shirley Township, a daughter of Newton and Melissa (Flasher) Duffy. She was united in marriage to Luther J. Shields on Jan. 6, 1923 in Cumberland, Md. In addition to her husband, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. James (Eleanor) Stephens, Lewistown; Mrs. Annabelle Ritchey, Mount Union; Kenneth, Shirleysburg; Mrs. William (Helen) Piper, Landisville; Luther, Mount Union, R.D.; Mrs. William (Marie) Lauer, York, and Richard, Mount Union. Twenty two grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive, along with the following half brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Guyer, Fort Loudon, Mrs. Opal Naugle, Mount Union; Raymond Duffy, Pogue; Mrs. Mary Sheeler, Mount Union; Mrs. Vila Clugston, York; Mrs. Betty Painter, Cassville and Mrs. Lillian Horn, Orbisonia. She was a member of the Germany Valley Stone Church of the Brethren. Interment will b made in the Stone Church Cemetery, Germany Valley. Mrs. Lena C. Heaton, 63, of 1303 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon died on Friday, October 25, 1974 at 2 a.m. at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She was born in Mapleton, a daughter of Augustus and Mary (Demario) Couch. She was married to Ray E. Heaton in January of 1935 and he preceded her in death on June 8, 1967. Surviving are two children, Ronald Heaton and Mrs. Carol Payne, both of Huntingdon. There are six grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Marcelle Wilson in North Carolina and Mrs. Natha Galie of Philadelphia. One brother, Carl, preceded her in death. She was a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church of Huntingdon. Mrs. Heaton had been employed at Owens-Corning Fiberglas for many years in the twist and ply department. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery in Huntingdon. Leslie J. Hamman, 69, of Pitcairn, died Thursday, July 9, 1964, at the home of his daughter, Mary, of Connecticut. Mr. Hamman had been in failing health for three years. Born July 3, 1893 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of John and Mary (Swope) Hamman. He was married to Eva Shue of Mount Union, R.D., who survives. Also surviving are three children, Geraldine of York; Mary of Connecticut and Dr. John F. Hamman of Harrisburg; and the following brothers and sisters, Ira Hamman of Akron, Ohio, Harry Hamman of Three Springs and Miss Bessie Hamman of Harrisburg. Mr. Hamman was a member of the Pitcairn Methodist Church and had been employed in Pittsburgh as an engineer for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. Gabert of 311 Warren Street, York, formerly of Shirleysburg, R.D., died on Sunday March 15, 1970, at 1 p.m., following a brief illness. Born April 26, 1898 in Hill Valley, Mount Union, R.D., he was a son of James and Minnie (Norris) Gabert. His wife, Grace Farence Gabert survives; also one son, John, York; one daughter, Mrs. Malvin (Ruth) Hoover, Folcroft, Pa. four grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and three sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Snellbaker, Emigsville, Pa., Mrs. Clair (Mary) Rosenborough, Mount Union, Mrs. Raymond (Mertie) Appleby, New Cumberland, and one brother, Boyd Gabert, Mount Union. Mrs. Lillian M. Hall of 207 Fifth Street, Huntingdon, passed away on Monday evening, October 5, 1964, at the Hollidaysburg Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past year and had been a patient at the hospital since April of this year. Born on May 1, 1894, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Howard E. and Mittie (Hefright) Kirk. Her Husband, Charles M. Hall, preceded her in death on April 18, 1954. One son, Howard E. Davis, and two grandsons, all of Huntingdon, and a sister, Mrs. Marjorie Rice of Harrisburg, survive. One brother, preceded her in death. Most of her life was spent in the Huntingdon area. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, the Auxiliary to the Frank P. Hammon Post No. 24, American Legion, and the Auxiliary to Standing Stone Chapter, No. 1754, VFW. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Lillian Hester Nale, 78, of 910 Washington Street, Huntingdon, died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, October 20, 1974 in the Altoona Hospital. She had been a patient in the hospital since October 14, when she became ill at her home. A daughter of Daniel and Catharine (Hicks) Feagley, she was born May 6, 1896 in Marklesburg. On December 24, 1923, she was married to Carl L. Nale in Cleveland, Ohio. Her husband passed away December 21, 1956. Surviving are two children, Mrs. Boyd (Lois) Jensen, Covington, Va. and Carl L. Jr., San Mateo, Cal. There are five grandchildren. Mrs. Nale was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Huntingdon and belonged to the Golden Age Club, also in Huntingdon. In 1942, she began her employment wit the old Huntingdon Throwing Mill and continued on with Owens-Corning Fiberglas, retiring November 7, 1958. Practically her entire life was spent in Huntingdon. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. Louise C. Mock, 49, corner of Washington and 14th Streets, Huntingdon, was found dead at her home Sunday. Death had apparently occurred sometime Saturday, Feb. 2, 1980. Born Aug. 14, 1930 in Shirleysburg, she was the daughter of Russell T. Crone and Mary Crone McCray. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ellen Park of Huntingdon and Susan L. Mock of State College, two brothers, Richard G. Crone of West Chester and Bernard E. (Mike) Crone of Huntingdon: and two sisters, Mrs. Mary College of Landrum, Md.; and Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Tomiollio of Brockton, Mass. She was of the Protestant faith. She was retired on disability having last worked at Juniata College and prior to that, at the Penn Central National Bank. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Mrs. Mabel Luella Beers, 66, of Rockhill Furnace, R.D., died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1968, at 5:25 a.m. at the Lewistown Hospital. She had been ill for two weeks. The deceased was born in Cromwell Township on June 24, 1901, a daughter of Grant and Rebecca (Renninger) Schmittle. She was united in marriage to John H. Beers of Cromwell Township and he preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1965. She is survived by the following seven children: Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Hooper, Altoona; Mrs. Sheldon (Arlene) Barron, Three Springs, R.D.; Mrs. John (Thelma) Seiders, Harrisburg; John Beers, Silver Spring, Md.; Mrs. Maybelle McClain, Three Springs, Ward Beers, Rockhill Furnace, R.D.; Mrs. Bruce (Mary Jane) Whitsel, Linglestown. Nineteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters survive: Elmer Schmittle, Middleburg; William Schmittle, Florida; Mrs. Ethel Bolinger, Elizabethtown; Miss Mary Schmittle, Rockhill Furnace and Mrs. Hazel Hicks, Mount Union, R.D. She was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. She had been employed as a cook at the Shirley Home for the Aged and she also had been employed as a nurse's aide a the Elizabethtown Masonic Homes. Mrs. Mabel Benson, 70, of Three Springs, R.D.2, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, September 4, 1974 in the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg after an illness of two days. A native of Cromwell Township, she was born April 28, 1904 to Joseph and Hester (Chilcote) Bachtel. On April 8, 1933, she was married to Melvin James Benson of Springfield Township. Mr. Benson passed away October 24, 1973. The following children survive: Fred L., Phoenixville, Merrill G. Royersford; Berlyn W. at home; Mrs. Wendell (Viola) Glunt, Shade Gap; Harold E. Mount Holly Springs and Mrs. Vernon (Ethelda) Stydinger, Carteret, N.J. One son Jesse is deceased. There are sixteen grandchildren. Mrs. Benson leaves one brother, Walter Bachtel of Saxton, R.D. Mabel Irene Liveringhouse, 46, of James Creek died unexpectedly Monday, June 10, 1968 at 12:40 p.m. in her home. Born July 8, 1921 in Entrekin, she was a daughter of George and Bertha (Snare) Liveringhouse. Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Harry (Clemme) Hetrick and Mrs. Myrtle Eisenhuth, both of Marklesburg, six nieces and two nephews. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Marklesburg and belonged to the auxiliary to Marklesburg Fire Company. She had been employed 25 years at Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation in Huntingdon. Interment will be made in Entrekin Cemetery. Mrs. Mabel V. Prendergast of 309 College Avenue, Hollywood, Huntingdon died at 10:40 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 1975 in Altoona General Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Robertsdale she was a daughter of John and Charlotte (Woods) Young. She was married to Benjamin F. Prendergast, Sr. at Cumberland, Md. in 1924. Mr. Prendergast passed away April 30, 1961. Surviving are three children, Benjamin F., Jr., El Paso, Tex.; Richard D. Altoona and Mrs. P.H. (Gloria) Licastro, State College. There are eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren Also surviving are a brother and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Elizabeth) Flanigan, Huntingdon; Mrs. James (Charlotte) Doyle, Bellevernon and Raymond, Rockville, Md. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Mabel L. Uttley, ------------ Church, Henderson Township, died Friday, January 7, 1972 at 4 p.m. in Marion City Hospital, Ocala, Fla. Death was due to an apparent heart seizure. Born June 24, 1905 in Penn Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late E. Franklin and Catherine (Russler) Bookwalter. She was united in marriage to Thomas M. Uttley in Saxton on August 3, 1929. Her husband survives, along with the following children, Mrs. Edwin (Linnaria) Wheland, Huntingdon R.D.2,; Archard P. Uttley, Mill Creek, Mrs. Robert (Arthenia) Knode, Petersburg R.D, and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are a brother and three sisters; Roy Bookwalter, Huntingdon R.D.2.; Mrs. Howard (Virginia) Clark, Shirleysburg R.D.; Mrs. Kenneth (Ruby) Barnett, Todd; and Mrs. Lilly Barnett, Todd R.D. Maisie Violet Covert, 65, of Orbisonia died Monday October 30, 1967 at 1:15 p.m. in the Carlisle Hospital at Carlisle where she had been a patient for the past seven days. Born in Cromwell Township, September 22, 1902, she was a daughter of Levi and Katherine (Swope) Madden. She was united in marriage to Emory J. Covert, who preceded her in death January 31, 1954. Surviving are her mother, Mrs. Katherine Madden of Hill Valley, and the following children: Mrs. James (Geraldine) Massey, Carlisle; Mrs. Robert (Cleo) Spencer, New Cumberland; Berlin Covert, Philadelphia; Guy Covert, Three Springs; Mrs. Wilson (Dorothy Ann) Bock, Fannettsburg; Mrs. Joseph (Marcella) Williams, Chambersburg, Mrs. Robert (Janet) Wickard, Carlisle; Emory Covert, Jr. at home. Mrs. Malda Dysard Crownover, 60, of Huntingdon R.D.2 died early this morning, Thursday, June 1, 1967 at 1:10 o'clock at her home. She had been in failing health for the past six months. Born in Huntingdon County on April 9, 1907, she was a daughter of Samuel E. and Caroline (Ankney) Dysard. She was united in marriage to James W. Crownover on September 21, 1935, at the First Methodist Church in Huntingdon by the Rev. E.B. Davidson. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters; Wilbur L. Dysard, Huntingdon R.D.2; Samuel O. Dysard, New Castle; Benjamin E. Dysard, Clearfield; and Mrs. Raymond (Lillian) McCool, Clearfield, and two half-sisters, Mrs Cecil (Isabel) Jackson and Mrs. James (Georgia) Jackson, both of Huntingdon R.D.2. A number of nieces and nephews survive. The deceased was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother. She was a member of the Centre Union Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at the Huntingdon Throwing Mill, Owens-Corning Fiberglas, and lately had worked in the private homes of Mrs. Mary Miller and Mrs. Robert Jackson. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. A native of Huntingdon County, Mrs. Mary Ellen Beers, passed away on Friday night, October 17, 1956 at 11:30 o'clock at her late home, 303 First Street, Williamsburg. Mrs. Beers was born near Orbisonia on September 23, 1863, the daughter of David and Comfort (Duffy) Irvin. In November of 1890, she was united in marriage with George Heeter Beers. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Stephens at the bride's home. Mr. Beers preceded his wife in death in July, 1926. She was educated in the public schools in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County. Mrs Beers was a member of the Methodist Church in Williamsburg. Survivors include: one daughter, Miss May V. Beers of Williamsburg: a sister, Mrs. Sarah K. Ashman of Altoona; one grandson, five great-grandchildren, four nephews, and six nieces. Interment will be made in the Jordan Cemetery at Orbisonia R.D. A native of Huntingdon, Mary Kathryn Grove, was born July 2, 1948 to Fred G. and Mary (Mills) Kyper. Surviving are her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Virgil R. Brenneman of Warrior Ridge, R.D. 1, Huntingdon. Also surviving is the father, of Everett, the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Katie Mills of Huntingdon and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Edythe Kyper, also of Huntingdon. There are two brothers and a sister, Mrs. Samuel (Milda) Runk, Huntingdon; Michael C. Kyper, Bedford and Wayne L. Brennerman R.D.1, Huntingdon. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mrs Grove was reared in the home of her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mills of Huntingdon. She was employed since 1968 in the office of Dr. Charles L. Schucker of Huntingdon, where she served as receptionist and did office procedure. The deceased was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church. She was educated in the Huntingdon public schools, graduating from high school in 1966. Burial will be in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mary Martin Jones, 74, a guest at the Guilford Convalescarium in Fayetteville died at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, 1978, at the convalescarium. She was born Dec. 26, 1903, in Dudley, the daughter of William and Rachel (Bagshaw) Mountain. She was twice married, first to Paul C. Martin and then to Arthur W. Jones. Both preceded her in death. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. Ruth M. Rielly, Eddystone; William Martin of Huntingdon; and Paul R. Martin of Bridgeport, Conn. Six grandchildren also survive; one grandchild preceded her in death. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Pearl Hall, Piscataway, N.J.: Mrs. Harold (Edith) McElwain, Huntingdon; Mrs. Ann Menentic, Bridgeport, Conn.; and Mrs. Geraldine Bednarz, Jersey City, N.J. Five brothers and one sister preceded her in death. She was of the Protestant faith, and worked for a number of years at the J.B. Kunz Co., Huntingdon. Interment will be made in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery. Mrs. Martha P. Keith, 65, of Rockhill Furnace died Sunday, June 13, 1965, at 9:30 a.m. in the J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She had been seriously ill for the past five months. She was born November 19, 1899, in Everett, a daughter of Edward and Flora (Booher) Wennick. She was married to Earl H. Keith of Rockhill Furnace on November 1, 1917, at Cumberland, Md. by the Rev. Joseph Dowson. Her husband survives along with the following children: Mrs. Ralph (Pauline) Barnett, Wadsworth, Ohio; William Keith, Orbisonia; Mrs. O.H. (Margaret) Wilhelmus, Vine Grove, Ken and Ted Keith, Rockhill Furnace. There are seven grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nora Barber, Orbisonia; two foster sisters, Mrs. Anna Pheasant, Elizabethtown and Mrs. Ethel Leonard, Orbisonia R.D., and a foster brother, Earl Drake, Allentown. The deceased attended the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Madden-Wennick Post No. 518 American Legion Auxiliary. She had been employed for ten years as a clerk in the Rockhill Furnace post office. Interment will be made in the Orbisonia Cemetery. Mrs. Mary Crone McCray, 68, of 218 Mifflin St., Huntingdon, died at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 1980 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where she had been a patient since Friday. Born April 28, 1911 in Neelyton, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Lillian (Harry) Hockenberrry. She was twice married, first to Russell T. Crone who preceded her in death and later to Wayne (Chick) McCray on May 27, 1965. He survives. She is also survived by the following children: Richard G. Crone of West Chester; Bernard (Mike) Crone of Huntingdon; Mrs. Mary College of Landrum, Md; and Mrs. Joseph (Shirley) Tomiollio of Brockton, Mass. One daughter, Louise Mock, preceded her in death. Sixteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. Also surviving are four sisters and one brother: Mrs. Margaret Davis of Pontiac, Mich.; John Hockenberrry of Riverside, Calif.; Mrs. Julia Count of Little Rock, Ark.; Mrs. Joann Farmer of Marmora, N.J.; and Mrs. Dorothy McKinley of Bedford. Two brothers, Kenneth and Clair, preceded her in death. She was of the Protestant faith. Mrs. Mary Anna Nemetz, ---, who resided at Hill Valley, Mount Union R.D., with her son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wilson, died at -------, Tuesday, November 7, 19--- at 11:55 a.m. She had been seriously ill for the past six years. She was bonr November 5, 1883 in Czechoslovakia, and came to America in 1902. In 1903 she was united in marriage to Joseph T. Nemetz at Braddock. The couple moved to a farm in Hill Valley in 1913 where they lived until his death in 1947. Survivng are the following children: Mrs. Stanley (Anna) Ballas and Mrs. John (Helen) -unik, both of Guttemberg, N.J.; Mrs. David (Veronica) Covacs, Lyndhurst, N.J.; Mrs. Gasper (Josephine) Danish, Mrs. Raymond (Kathryn) Wilson and Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Pollock, all of Mount Union, R.D. and Mrs. John (Pauline) Cimolic, Bayonne, N.J. Two children preceded her in death. There are 20 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Nemetz was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a member of the St. Catherine's Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union and for many years had been a member of the Rosary Society. Interment will be made in St. Catherines's Cemetery at Shirleysburg R.D. Mrs. Mary Stanko, 61, of 1408 Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon died Saturday, November 15, 1969, at 10:05 p.m. in the Presbyterian University Hospital in Pittsburgh. Born May 16, 1908 in Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of John and Mary (Katana) Hrebenick. She was united in marriage to Frank Stanko, who survives, along with a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Mary Jane) Trotta of Edinboro. There are four grandchildren. Also surviving are six brothers and one sister: John, William and Frank Hrebenick, all of Butler; Michael Hrebenick, Pittsburgh and Paul Hrebenick, Indio, Calif; Mrs. Andrew (Helen) Villani, New Castle and M. Stephen OSBM, Hazleton. The deceased was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon. Interment wil be made in Rose Hill Cemetery, Butler. Mrs. Marie H. Sutherland, a former resident of Huntingdon, recently a guest at the United Presbyterian Home at Hollidaysburg, died there last evening, Thursday, March 27, 1969 at 7:05 o'clock. Born November 20, 1890 in Indiana County, she was a daughter of James H. and Margaret (McQuilkin) Harmon. She was united in marriage to Archibald B. Sutherland on January 9, 1913, at Indiana. He preceded her in death December 30, 19?6. A number of nieces and nephews survive; Mrs. Sutherland was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon. She belonged to the Order of Eastern Star, Bellefonte Lodge, and was a member of the Order of Amaranth, Huntingdon. She was a member of the women's auxiliary to the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Sutherland had resided in Huntingdon from 1923 until the she took up residence in the Presbyterian Home. For ten years prior to coming to Huntingdon, she had resided at the Rockview State Correctional Institution, where her husband ws employed. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Mary (Mayme) Margaret Taylor, 80, who had resided with her sister, Mrs. Jeanette Parson of 619 Sixth Street, Huntingdon, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1976, in the Huntingdon County Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Born Oct. 2, 1896, in Rockhill Furnace, she was a daughter of George and Minnie (Booher) Wilson. She married Arthur C. Taylor of Robertsdale on April 27, 1925, in Lancaster; he preceded her in death on June 14, 1964. A step-son, Arthur H. Taylor of Delta, survives along with the following brothers and sisters: Raymond Wilson, Mount Union R.D.; Charles Wilson, Orbisonia Star Route; Mrs. Jeanette Parson; Mrs. Elsie Zeigler and Mrs. Mae Grey, all of Huntingdon. Mrs. Taylor was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church Orbisonia R.D. Until her retirement, she was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon. Interment will be in Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia R.D. Mrs. Matilda W. Hess, 65, of 415 Eleventh Street, Huntingdon, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 1975, in J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where she had been a patient since Wednesday, May 21. She had been in failing health since December 16, 1974. A daughter of the late Harry O. and Effie (Mock) Wible, she was born on May 22, 1910, in Knobsville. She became the bride of Joseph H. Hess on July 18, 1931, at the home of her parents in Huntingdon. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. O.J. May Surviving are her widower, one daughter, Mrs. William E. (Neva) Carles of Huntingdon, and two grandsons, Joseph F. and William E. Carles, Jr. The following brothers and sisters also survive: Mrs. George (Hazel) Weidener of Camp Hill; Orin and Harold Wible, both of Huntingdon R.D. 1, Floyd Wible of Huntingdon and Mrs. Herbert (Gladys) Couch of Huntingdon R.D.2. Mrs. Hess was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Huntingdon. She began her employment wit the Susquehanna Silk Mill in Huntingdon, which later became Owens-Corning Fiberglas. In 1960 she started Neva's Kiddies Shop in Huntingdon. The store's name changed to the Ever-So-Young Shop in 1965, but Mrs. Hess continued her association with it. Mrs. Hess was educated in the Huntingdon public schools. Intement will be in the Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon R.D.1.
