Guyer, 78, of 511 Thirteenth Street, Huntingdon who died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital Saturday, March 4, 1972 at 5:45 p.m. She had been in failing health for several years. Born July 12, 1924 at Barnesboro, she was a daughter of Harry and Elizabeth (Hutchinson) Johns. She was united in marriage to C. Wayne Guyer on June 22, 1946 in Philadelphia. Surviving are her husband, a son James Guyer of Huntingdon; and her mother, of Philadelphia. Two brothers also survive: Clarence Johns and Harry B. Johns, both of Philadelphia. One brother, Kenneth, preceded her in death. Mrs Guyer had attended the 15th Steet United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She was member of the Juniata Valley Court No 129, Order of ------ and was past president of the order. During her lifetime she had been employed by A.T.&T at Philadelphia and at Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon. Interment was made in Mooresville Cemetery, Neffs Mills. Albert Edward Laird of Orbisonia Star Route died Friday, December 1, 1972 at his home. His death was unexpected. He was born on January 9, 1911 in Mount Union, a son of George and Melissa (Flasher) Laird. He was married to Miriam Waite Barnhart on September 4, 1954 in Hagerstown, Md. by the Rev. Wilson P. Arda, Lutheran minister. Surviving are his wife and the following children, Mrs. Herbert (Sandra) Shoop of Orbisonia Star Route and George and Brenda, both at home. One grandson, Rick Shoop also survives. A sister survives, Mrs. Mary Guyer of Fort Loudon and a half-brother, James Cowan of Orbisonia, R.D. and a half-sister, Mrs. Lecada Shields of Germany Valley. A half-brother, Daniel Cowan preceded him in death. The deceased was a member of the Orbisonia Assembly of God Church. He was employed at the East Broad Top Railroad at Rockhill Furnace. He was also a veteran of World War II. Interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockhill Furnace. Mrs. Alice Ellen Reed, 48, of 1226 Washington Street, Huntingdon, died unexpectedly Wednesday, April 2, 1969 at 11:30 a.m. She became ill early Wednesday morning and was taken to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital where she died. Her death comes as a shock to her family and friends. Born October 5, 1920 at Entriken, she was a daughter of George and Amanda Morningstar. On June 12, 1937 at Cumberland, Md., she was united in marriage with Ned J. Reed. Her husband survives, along with a son, Ned C. Reed of Silverford Heights, Mount Union, and two grandchildren, Daron V. and Troy F. Reed. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mae Heffner, Huntingdon; Mrs. Violet Donnelly, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Gladys Morrison, Smithfield; Mrs. Beatrice Lohr, Entriken; Mrs. Mildred Isett, Akron, Ohio; Mrs. Olive Fouse, James Creek; Gilbert Morningstar, Entriken; Cecil Morningstar, Entriken: Mrs. Alberta Oldham, Monaca; Mrs. Anna Mary Lohr, Broad Top; and Mrs. Betty Jones, Broad Top. Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by two brothers. She was a member of the Entriken United Methodist Church and Sunday School and of the No 2 Fire Company Auxiliary, Huntingdon. She had been employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corp. since 1951 and had been at work there on Tuesday. Interment will be made in Entriken Cemetery. Mrs. Alice Wilson of Mount Union died Monday, June 10 at 10:25 p.m. in J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon after an extended illness. She was the widow of Gib Wilson, a barber in Mount Union for many years, who died April 7, 1968. Born February 10, 1897 in Cromwell Township, she was a daughter of Samuel and Blanche (Waite) Cohenour. She married John Gilbert Wilson July 19, 1917 at Three Springs. Surviving are a son, Ivan Wilson of Huntingdon, a daughter, Mrs. Warren (Myrtle) Morgan of Mount Union, 10 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Flora Booher, Germany Valley; Mrs. Ida Hammon, Mount Union; Roy Cohenour, Mount Union; John Cohenour, Aliquippa; Orville Cohenour, Mill Creek; Mrs. Tola Cornelius, Mount Union. R. D.; Mrs. Daisy Lender, Huntingdon; Bernard Cohenour, Mount Union. One sister and five brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church of Mount Union. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 13, at 2 p.m. in Clark funeral home, Mount Union. Interment will be made in Mount Union IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after noon Weednesday until the hour of the service Thursday. Almeda L. Parks, 65, of Mount Union R.D. 1, died about noon on Monday, August 29, 1977, at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since Friday, August 26. She had been in falling health for the past week. The daughter of Charles A. and Mary (Bard) Shetrom, she was born December 6, 1911 at Huntingdon. She was twice married, first in 1929 to Roy L. Warnick, then to Walter C. Parks on July 13, 1963, in a ceremony performed at the home of the bride in Huntingdon. Her husband survives, along with three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Evelyn) Weld of Huntingdon; Mrs. Edward (Barbara) McEwen of Huntingdon R.D. 4, and Mrs. William (Frances) Randolph of McAlevys Fort, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Barbara Young, Havre deGrace, Maryland; and two stepsons, Sgt. major Ronald N. Parks of the U.S. Army and Marshall Parks, Peoria, Ill. There are 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition, he sister, Mrs. Wallace (Elizabeth) Moser of Alexandria, survives. Another sister, Ruth Whitesel is deceased, . Mrs. Parks was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren. She was employed at Owens- Corning Fiberglass in Huntingdon from 1943 to 1963. She attended the Huntingdon public schools and spent most of her life in this area. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31 at 2 p.m. at Brown's funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Richard L. Landrum will officiate. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Mill Creek. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday after 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Mrs. Arley Norris Diven, 54, of 212 South Division Street, Mount Union died at 4:05 a.m. today, Wednesday, February 19, 1969, at the Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. She had been a patient of the hospital for the past six weeks. Born February 10, 1915, at Mount Union, she was a daughter of William and Katherine (Cassidy) Norris. She was united in marriage to Donald S. Diven on August 14, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1966. Surviving are two children: Mrs. Erwin (Linda Lee) Kelly, Mount Joy and Donald R. Diven, Cleveland, Ohio. There are six grandchildren. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Loree Rutherford, Mount Union; LeRoy Norris, Mechanicsburg; Lewis Norris, Longview, Texas; Mrs. Martha Bard, Mount Union and Mrs. William Naugle, Mount Union. The deceased was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. Mrs. Diven had operated a beauty parlor in Mount Union for ten years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Februarry 22, at 2 p.m. from the Clark funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. Norman L. Marden will officiate and interment will be made in Mount Union's I.O.O.F. Booher, 57, of N-7 Federal Drive, Chestnut Terrace, Mount Union died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon on Monday, July 23, 1973 at 8:10 pm. He was born at Rockhill Furnace on August 16, 1917, a son of Bower and Elizabeth (Clark) Booher. Surviving are nine children: Donald Booher, Mrs. Leona Sheeler and Mrs. Sandra Keiser all of Huntingdon R.D. 3; Mrs. Patricia Kyler and Pauline Booher, both of Mill Creek; Mrs. Nancy Kling, Huntingdon; Mrs. Judy Atherton, Cedar Crest, Mount Union; Arthur Booher Jr., Smithfield, Huntingdon and Mrs. Donna Grove, Mount Union, There 27 grandchildren. These brothers and sisters survive: Raymond Booher and Jack Booher, both of Mount Union; Harrison Booher, Rochhill Furnace; Mrs. Naomi Demsey, Fiddletown, Ca., and Mrs. Hope Shingler, Pittsburg, Calif. The deceased was of the Protestant faith. He worked as a bricklayer all his life. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 26, at 2 P.M. from the Heath funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. Leon Foote will officiate and interment will be made in the Monroe Valley Cemetery. Orbisonia R.D. Shields of 414 Penn Street, Huntingdon, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday morning, July 28, 1969. The deceased was born in Tell Township on August 2, 1899, a son of Philip A. and Jennie (Shoop) Shields. He was twice married. His first wife was Catherine Dysard. He was united in marriage on Oct. 15, 1952 at Winchester, Va. to Frances Neuder who survives, along with these children to the first marriage: Walter Shields, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Kenneth and Donald Shields, Huntingdon, R.D.3; Mrs. Irvin (Gladys) Johns, Huntingdon R.D. 1; and Mrs. Alvin (Mary Jane) Black, Smithfield, Huntingdon. Five grandchildren, one great grandson also survive along with these two brothers and one sister: Cloyd and Wilbur Shields and Mrs. Mary Ethel Lightner, all of Huntingdon, R.D.3. Mr. Shields was a member of the Huntingdon Moose Lodge No. 223 adn the Huntingdon Elks Lodge No. 976. For a number of years he had been an agent for the Pennsylvania Farmer Insurance Company. He spent all of his life in the Huntingdon area. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Bertha Mae Chilcoat, 91, of Rockhill was dead on arrival at the J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon at 10:30 am, Friday, December 12, 1975. Death was unexpected. Born November 2, 1884 in Cromwell Township, she was a daughter of William B. and Caroline (Starr) Wilson. On April 11, 1916, she was married to William M. Chilcoat of Rockhill. The ceremony was performed in her home by her brother, the Rev. Roy X. Wilson. Mr. Chilcoat preceded in death January 26,1927. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Booher, R.D., Orbisonia: a step-son, Alvin S. Chilcoat, Neelyton, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, nine step-grandchildren, and numerous step-greatgrandchildren. Four step children are deceased. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Alice Hall, Huntingdon. Mrs. Chilcoat was one of the founders of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren where she was a deaconness, and served in various capacities on numerous boards and offices. She taught Sunday School at the church for over 70 years and was long active in District 11 Sunday School Convention programs. For many years and at the time of her death, her home served as a collection and processing center for Salvation Army and Church World Service donations. Prior to her marriage, she taught school in Cromwell Township for 12 years. Mrs. Chilcoat was borough tax collector in Rockhill for over 30 years and she was former county president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 15, from the Rockhill Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Ronald A. Beverlin, her pastor, will officiate and burial will be in the IOOF Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill. Friends will be received at the Ott funeral home in Orbisonia from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m. Monday and at the church Monday from noon until time for services. M. Blanche Corbin, formerly of 511 Oneida Street, Huntingdon, died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Octoer 16, 1975 at the Huntingdon County Nursing Home where she had been a resident since April 24, 1972. Born April 28, 1896 to Edmund P. and Mary Elizabeth Anderson Garner, she married John A. Corbin, who preceded her in death on June 7, 1952. She is survived by a son and daughter, John E. Corbin, of Canadensis and Mrs. Jack (Phyllis) Tyree of Lincoln, Ark. She is also survived by three grandchildren and five brothers and sisters: Mrs. Clayton (Grace) Brindle, Huntingdon; Mrs. Chloe Grubb, Huntingdon; Melvin C. Garner, Hesston; Mrs. Kenneth (Evaline) Hinkle, Cherrytown; and Kenneth Garner, Markesburg. She was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church in Huntingdon and the Huntingdon Mother's club. She spent most of her life in the Huntingdon area. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Carrie Louise Laney, 72, of Mounted Route, Huntingdon, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 1976 at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, where she had been a patient since January 24. Born November 27, 1903 at Huntingdon, she was a daughter of James and Bertha (Morrison) Crownover. She was married to Earl T. Laney. Survivng are her widower and two sons, James Gray and Herbert T. Gray, Jr. both of Mounted Route, Huntingdon. Ther are two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also survivng are two brothers and a sister, James Crownover, Mounted Route, Huntingdon; Mrs. Elizabeth Hall, Moutn Union and Raymond Jackson, R.D. 3, Huntingdon. Four sistes and five brothers preceded in death. The deceased was of the Protestant faith. She had worked at the old Susquehanna Silk Mill in Huntingdon, and later at the Valley Motel, before retiring in 1967. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Carrie Beatrice Varner, 87, of Shirleysburg R.D., died at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, 1981 at the home of her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Varner of Shirley Township. She had been seriously ill for the past four months. Born in Fort Littleton on April 14, 1894, she was a daughter of John and Nellie (Ramsey) Little. She was united in marriage to Howard Dean Varner, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1941. She is survived by four children, Robert Varner of Orbisonia R.D.; Paul Varner of West Point, Va.; Frank Varner of Midwest City, Oklahoma; and Donald Varner of Hemet, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Dean, two sisters and a brother. She was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church and the Dependables Sunday School class. She had formerly been employed as a school teacher and a practical nurse. Interment will be made in the Rockhill Furnace IOOF Cemetery. Funeral services for Miss Catharine M. Whitsel of Atkinson Mills, McVeytown, R.D. 1, will be held in the Booth funeral home at McVeytown at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 7, The Rev. Glenn Barner will officiate and interment wil be made in the Cassville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Booth funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Miss Whitsel died at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital on Friday morning, October 4, 1963 following a brief illness. Before her illness six weeks ago, Miss Whitsel was employed as a nurse at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She was graduated from the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. A member of the Atkinson Mills Methodist Church, Miss Whitsel taught a Sunday School class there for many years The deceased was born in Fort Littleton on August 5, 1912, the daughter of Charles R. and Bessie I. (Baker) Whitsel. Miss Whitsel is survived by brother R. Banks Whitsel, York. Charles Gutshall, 75, of Kissimmee, Fla. died on Saturday, November 23, 1974, at a nursing home in Kissimmee following a lengthy illness. Born on February 1, 1899, in Orbisonia, R.D., he was a son of Elmer and Frances (Starr) Gutshall. He was married to the former Hilda Norcross of Mount Union. His wife survivies along with three children. Mrs. Raymond (Hilda) Vanderslice of York, Mrs. Dottie Woodward of Norristown and Walter of Phoenixville. He had eight grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Covert of Shade Gap, R.D. and Mrs. Nora Chilcote of Rockhill Furnace, also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Mr Gutshall was of the Methodist faith and was a retired brakeman for the East Broad Top Railroad, having worked in both Rockhill and Mount Union. Interment will take place in Leesburg. Mrs. Christine Mary Shore, 78, of 112 West Julian Street, Martinsburg, a former resident of Mount Union, died at 1:25 a.m. Monday, January 13, 1969 in Nason hospital, Roaring Spring, where she had been a patient for three days. She had been seriously ill for one week prior to her death. Born January 9, 1890 in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was daughter of Fellmore and Sarah Jane (Flasher) Booher. June 29, 1910 in Huntingdon, she was united in marriage with B. Harrison Shore of Meadow Gap, Springfield Township. Her husband survives along with three children, Sheldon L. Shore, Pasadena; Md.; Mrs. Joseph (Grace) Harkins, Carmichaels and Mrs. Arthur (Gladys) Bowman, Martinsburg; 18 grandchildren and 32 greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Jamison of Orbisonia Star Route and Mrs. Edna Shafer of Arlington, Va. An infant son preceded her in death. Mrs. Shore was a member of the Cross Keys Church of God. She and her husband had operated a nursery plant business in Mount Union for a number of years. Interment will be made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton R.D. Clayton Leroy-Black, 48, a prominent Orbisonia businessman, died Wednesday, June 28, 1972, at 10:05 a.m. at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for five days. He had been seriously ill for 18 months. Black was the owner of an automotive and fuel oil business at Orbisonia. He was born at Three Springs, R.D. on Dec. 30, 1923, a son of Berlyn Clay and Lila Pearl (Runk) Black. He was united in marriage to Lena Hope Gutshall of Orbisonia on April 26, 1947 at Houtzdale, the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Arthur A. Price of the Methodist Church. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Mrs. Lila Cutshall and his step- father James Cutshall, Three Springs, R.D.; Two children also survive: James Clayton Black, U.S. Army, Romulus, N.Y., and Miss Cynthia Ann Black, at home. Two sisters and one brother also survive: Mrs. Mary Carothers, Lansdowne; Mrs. Zeneda Simpler, McLean, Va., and William J. Black, Three Springs, R.D.1. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Orbisonia. A World War II Veteran, he was a member of the Huntingdon VFW post and the Orbisonia American Legion. He belonged to Cromwell Lodge No. 572, F & A.M. Orbisonia, the Huntingdon County Shrine Club, Harrisburg Consistory, Jaffa Temple, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and PIADA. Interment will be made in the Rockhill I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery. Clair Robert Jacka, Sr., 57, of Market Street, Mifflinburg, died on Saturday, May 11, 1963 at 7 p.m. in the Evangelical Community Hospital at Lewisburg where he had been a patient for the past ten days. He was born in Woodvale on July 4, 1905, a son of the late Robert and Ella (Booher) Jacka. He was married to Mary Snyder in Huntingdon. His wife survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Faye Stevens of Hershey and Mrs. Lola Boop of Mifflinburg, and one son Clair Robert Jacka, Jr. of New Berlin. There are seven grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Thomas Jacka of Aliquippa and Norman Jacka of Huntingdon, and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Brown of Orbisonia, Mrs. Myrtle McCall of Huntingdon, Mrs. Betty Stevens of Three Springs and Mrs. Viola Bowen of Highland Mills, N.Y. One sister preceded him in death. Mr. Jacka had been a resident of Mifflinburg since 1943. Prior to that he had resided in Huntingdon for many years. He retired in 1956 as foreman of the Huntingdon Throwing Mills at Mifflinburg. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Mifflinburg and a member of the Methodist Men's group of the church. He was a former member of the LOOM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the James L. Schwartz funeral home at 247 Chesnut St., Mifflinburg. The Rev. Theodore S. Miller, his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in the East Side Cemetery at Mifflinburg. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening after 7 p.m. Clark E. McElwain, 60, of 1411 Mifflin Street, Huntingdon, died early this morning, Thursday, November, 18, 1971, at 1:15 o'clock in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and was a patient of the hospital since November 9. Born in Huntingdon on April 12, 1911, he was a son of William L. and Winnie (White) McElwain. Surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Emil (Mabel) Leonard, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Walker, Huntingdon. One sister, Helena, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren, Huntingdon and belonged to the Home Association of the VFW. He was educated in the Huntingdon public schools and had spent his entire life in the Huntingdon area. McElwain was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation, in the twist and ply department of the Huntingdon plant, since 1946. He retired due to disability in 1965. Interment will be made in Donation Cemetery. Mrs. Cleo E. Guyton of 412 Ninth Street, Huntingdon died Sunday, October 1, 1972 at 4 p.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health since 1968 and was a patient of the hospital since September 20 of this year. Born in Robertsdale on September 17, 1908, she was a daughter of Fred and Edith (Chilcote) Harris. She was united in marriage to Harry M. Guyton on August 8, 1928 at the First Methodist Church, Huntingdon. Surviving are her husband; her mother, of Huntingdon and four children: Gail L. Guyton, Huntingdon R.D.2, Richard A. Guyton, Camp Hill; Mrs. Harold (Maxine) Dillman, Lancaster and Mrs. Orin (Mary) Wible, Jr. Huntingdon R.D. 3. There are ten grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Bruce (Zada) Shafer, Huntingdon R.D.2, Mrs. Harold (Kathryn) Shirley, Huntingdon and Earl Harris of Huntingdon, and these half- brothers: Marshall Stapleton, Huntingdon R.D. 3, Raymond Stapleton, Huntingdon and Ralph Stapleton, Mount Union. The deceased was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She belonged to the Standing Stone Garden Club. Mrs. Guyton had been employed by Blair Division, Westab, and later by Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon, retiring in 1962. She had resided in Huntingdon since 1921. Interment wil be made in Riverview Cemetery. Connie K. Hicks, 14, of 1226 1/2 Washington Street, Huntingdon, died Monday, March 27, 1967 at 10:30 a.m. in the Harrisburg General Hospital where she had been a patient since March 13. She had been in failing health for the past three weeks. Born at Huntingdon on November 26, 1952, she was a daughter of William O. and Dorothy (Johnson) Hicks. She is survived by her father, of Mount Union; her mother, of Huntingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Jed (Barbara) Minaya of Huntingdon and Miss Carol Ann Hicks of Alexandria, Va. and a brother, William T. Hicks of Huntingdon. Also surviving are the maternal grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. R.B. English of Huntingdon and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Thelma Gutshall, Huntingdon R.D.1. The deceased attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Huntingdon and the church Sunday School. She was a member of the eighth grade class at Huntingdon Area Junior High School and had completed her primary work in the Alfarata Elementary School. She was a student in Mrs. Stewart Kauffman's home room at junior high school. Her entire life had been spent in Huntingdon. Miss Hicks was a member of the cheerleading club, and participated in girls' intermurals at the school. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. A former resident of Latta Grove, Mapleton Depot, R.D., David Arthur Dell, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, 1971, in Lebanon Veterans Administration Hospital, Lebanon, after an extended illness. He was 71. The son of Luden and Jennie (Pheasant) Dell, he was born November 5, 1899. He is survived by hais sister, Mrs. Malva Hammon, of Huntingdon, and a son Daniel, of Rutland, Vermont. He was preceded in death by his wife, two daughters, two sisters and a brother. He served in the armed services during World War I, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Latta Grove. Interment will take place in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton Depot R.D. Mrs. Della May Booher, 78, of Three Springs R.D. 1 died Wednesday, March 4, 1970, at 4:15 p.m. in the J.C.Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been a patient of the hospital for the past two weeks. Born May 25, 1891, at Three Springs, she was a daughter of Henry and Louise (Johns) Bollinger. She was united in marriage to Frank F. Booher of Pogue, the ceremony being performed in Pittsburgh June 19, 1912. He preceded her in death December 22, 1943. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Freda L. Smyers, McConnellstown; Alfred G. Booher, Pitcairn, Henry F. Booher, Three Springs; Mrs. Lewis (Phyllis) Ellis, Bonifay, Fla.; Chester R. Booher, Three Springs; Dallas H. Booher, Lakewood, Ohio; Mrs. Peter (Eva Louise) Holobinko, Hinckley, Ohio; Mrs. Domenico M. (Janet) Centi, Jr., Three Springs R.D.1 and Bernard D. Booher, Saltillo. One daughter, Mrs. Sarah Benson, preceded her in death May 11, 1939. There are 35 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Barlett of Trafford surviving. Five brothers and sisters preceded her in death. The deceased was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery. Delmar Franklin Lane of Three Springs R.D. died Sunday, September 29, 1963 at 4:15 a.m. at his home. He was seriously ill for one week prior to his death. The deceased was born December 2, 1879 at Meadow Gap in Springfield Township, the son of Dutton and Elizabeth (Ferrenberg) Lane. He married Bertha A. Painter of Cromwell Township in Altoona on January 1, 1912. In addition to his wife, the following children survive: W. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Dessie Noden, Nocomis, Fla., Mrs. Fannie Park, Maddensville; Mrs. Gertrude Fleck, Huntingdon R.D.; Mrs. Myrtle Ramsey, Harrisburg; Mrs. Gaynell Fleck, Three Springs R.D.; J. Brincley Lane, Altoona; Ira Lane, Prot Matilda; Lester Lane, Lewistown, Rufus Lane, Shirleysburg R.D., and Corbett Lane, Shirleysburg R.D. Mr. Lane was an active member of the Calvary Independent Baptist Church of Saltillo and was a deacon in that church. For many years he followed the occupation of farming and had retired 14 years ago from the E.B.T. Railroad. Interment will be made in the Old School Baptist Cemetery in Springfield Township. Don Howard Dell of 2521 Warm Springs Rd., Huntingdon died Wednesday, September 1-, 1965 at 2:50 p.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been in his usual health but had entered the hospital for observation on Tuesday evening, August 31. Death was due to a heart seizure. Born September 6, 1912, in Mapleton Depot, he was a son of Adam M. and Etta (David) Dell. He was twice married, first to Isabell Coder, who preceded him in death. He later married Ruth Corrigan in 1943 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Huntingdon. His wife survives along with two sons: Don Dell JR. of Pontiac, Michigan and Lloyd M. Dell, an announcer for WHUN at home. There are two grandchildren, Melisssa and Michael of Ponitac. Also surviving are the following brothers and sister: Clinton H. Dell, Miles J. Dell, Claude A. Dell, all of Mapleton Depot; Mrs. Earl (Melva) Ott of Orbisonia, R.D. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death. The deceased was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Huntingdon. He had served as superintendent of the Sunday School Department for more than nine years and had been a member of the official board of the church for many years. During his lifetime he was employed with the Pennsylvania Glass Sand Corporation for the shipping department for more than 30 years. Mr. Dell enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 5, at 2 p.m. from the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Huntingdon. The Rev. Theodore Steckel will officiate and interment will be made in Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Smith Valley. Friends will be received at the late home after 7 p.m. Friday until the 10 a.m. Sunday and at the church on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the hour of the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Brown's funeral service of Huntingdon. Mrs. Dora L. Shafer of 631 Sixth Street, Huntingdon died in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital last evening, Monday, December 2, 1963, at 8:10 o'clock. She had been in failing health for the past three weeks and had been a patient at the hospital since November 22. The deceased was born on December 15, 1874 in Hares Valley, near Saltillo, the daughter of Asher and Susan (Heffner) Drake. She married Willliam H. Shafer on June 14, 1900 at her home near Saltillo in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Mr. Shaffer. Her husband preceded her in death on March 8, 1954. Surviving are four sons, William B. Bruce C., Donald C. and Frederick G., all of Huntingdon. Also surviving are six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. John (Roxie) Figurel, Detroit, Mich. A son and three brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Shafer was a member of the Abbey Church of the United Church of Christ, Huntingdon, and was a member of the Woment's Guild of that church. Throughout her life, she had been extremely active in church affairs. She had spent her entire married life in Huntingdon. Interment will be made in the Riverview Cemetery in Huntingdon. Earl S. Norris, 64, of the Alesi Hotel, Jefferson Street, Mount Union died early this morning, Monday, March 16, 1970, at 2:20 o'clock in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon where he had been a patient since February 16. Born March 6, 1906 in Altoona, he was a son of John S. and Bertha (Hardy) Norris. He was united in marriage to Mabel Hoenstine, who resides in Huntingdon. Surviving are the following children: William Norris, Altoona; Mrs. Walter (Jane) Parks, Huntingdon; Jack Norris, Harrisburg and Fred Norris, Huntingdon. One son preceded him in death. There are five grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters: Mrs. Burk (Ethel) Ambrose, Annandale, Va. and Mrs. Charles (Elsie) Reeder, Mount Union. He was of the Methodist faith. Norris had been retired for five years, having worked previously as a chef. Interment will be made in Spring Run Cemetery. Earl J. Rutter, 63, of Phoenixville, a native of Huntingdon County, died Sunday, March 5, 1972 in the Phoenixville Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born in Maddensville on March 7, 1908, a son of the late Calvin and Mae (Kephart) Rutter. He was united in marriage to Dolly Gates in August, 1927. Survivng are three sons and two daughters: Donald L. Rutter, Jessup, Md.; Earl J. Rutter, Jr. serving with the U.S. Army, John Rutter, Mrs. Grayson (Doris) Ramstine, Phoenixville and Mrs. Patricia Devaney, Phoenixville. Two daughters preceded him in death. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He retired in 1971 as a guard at the Phoenix Steel Company. Previously he had been employed as a salesman for the A.C. Roberts meat packing company at Kimberton. A veteran of World War II, Rutter was discharged in October, 1945. He was a member of the Hungarian American Citizens Club. Interment will be made in Morris Cemetery, Phoenixville. Mrs. Edith B. Stapleton, 417 Thirteenth Street, Huntingdon, died Sunday, September 28, 1975 at 10:45 p.m. in the Huntingdon County Nursing Home where she had been a guest since May 12 of this year. She was 89 years of age. Born January 30, 1886, in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of William H. and Mary A. (Stambaugh) Chilcoat. She was twice married, first to Frederick S. Harris who preceded her in death in 1918 and later to Charles A. Stapleton who died in 1933. Surviving are the following children: Earl M. Harris, Mrs. Bruce (Zada) Shafer, and Mrs. Kathryn Shirley, all of Huntingdon, and Ralph D. Stapleton of Mount Union. There are 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving is a brother, Joseph W. Chilcoat of Homer City. She was preceded in death by a son and a daughter. Mrs. Edna Gertrude Snyder, 81, of Shade Gap died at 7:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 1969 in Brookline Manor Convalescent Home, Mifflintown, where she been a guest for the past four weeks. Born June 30, 1887 at Blacklog Valley, she was a daughter of Samuel and Clara (Shields) Shope. July 30, 1904, at the Methodist parsonage in Mount Union she was united in marriage -----(unreadable). Surviving are three children, William Snyder of Altoona, Mrs. Floyd (Elsie) McClure of Rockhill Furnace and Mrs. Robert (Fae) Pyles of Shade Gap, 14 grandchildren and 24 greatchildren. One son and one daughter preceded her in death. There are two sisters surviving of a family of 12 children; Mrs. Alice Greenwood, Hollidaysburg and Mrs. Annie Benson, Sunbury. Mrs. Snyder was member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday Schoool class and was a charter member of the WSCS of the church. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for five years and was admitted to the hospital early Sunday morning. Mrs. Green was born April 2, 1904, in Maddensville, the daughter of George and Nora (Ramsey) Brown. She was united in marriage to Daniel E. Green in Cumberland, Md., September 9, 1919. Mrs. E.H. Horton of 1403 Washington Street, Huntingdon, died at 6 a.m. this morning, Thursday, April 22, 1971 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health for the past one and a half years and had been a patient in the hospital since Sunday, April 18. She was born in Huntingdon on April 2, 1914, a daughter of Harvey T. and Edith (Weir) Holland. She was united in marriage to Harold H. Horton on June 28, 1934 at Cumberland, Md. Her husband survives. Surviving are one son, Earl H. Horton of Sunbury, and three grandchildren, Pamela Ann, Christopher Douglas and Timothy Allen. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Orville L. She had been in failing health since January of this year and had been hospitalized since March 19. Born July 30, 1891, in Orbisonia, she was a daughter of William and Isabelle (Smith) Daughenbaugh. She was united in marriage to Henderson Pyles on March 21, 1933, by the Rev. William Snyder at Orbisonia. Her husband preceded her in death August 4, 1948. She was 80 years old. She was born August 12, 1893 in Orbisonia to the former Mr. and Mrs. William B. Wilson. Surviving are a son, Dr. William B. Shope of Greensburg and two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Lois) Bair of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Harry (Sara Jane) Greenwood of Westwood, Mass. Also surviving are twoo aunts, Bertah Chilcote of Orbisonia and Mrs. Alice Hall of Huntingdon. She had 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Enos O. Rogers, 66, of Rockhill Furnace died Saturday, December 25, 1971, at 12:45 p.m. in the Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg where he had been a patient for the past four weeks. He was born April 4, 1905 in Pitcairn, a son of Vivian and Lillian (Ruby) Rogers. He was united in marriage to Dessie Hollibaugh of Rockhill Furnace, who survives, along with three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Kathryn) Henney, Huntingdon; Mrs. Carl (Winifred) Bittner, State College and Nancy Rogers, at home. There are five grandchildren. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Paul Rogers, Saxton; Mrs. Vera Snyder, Mount Union; Mrs. Gladys Painter, Hughesville, Mrs. Annie Booher, Perryopolis; Clyde Rogers, of Rockhill Furnace; Luthor Rogers, Mifflintown and Therman Rogers, Pittsburg, Calif. The deceased was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the local 1034, Textile Workers Union of America and had been employed at Owens-Corning Fiberglas Corporation at Huntingdon for 26 years. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Cemetery at Shirleysburg R.D. Esco Wilson, 1003 Trindle Rd. Carlisle, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 1970 at his home. He was 78. He was born January 24, 1892, in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, a son of William B. and Carolyn (Starr) Wilson. He was united in marriage to Olive Cutshall of the Three Springs area. Surviving are his wife, four sons, Roy D., McVeytown; Paul B. Willow Street; Ellis E., Camp Hill, and the Rev. David C., Hartville, Ohio; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Fish, Storrs, Conn.; Mrs. Joanna Rohrer, New Cumberland, Ohio, and Mrs. Lois Anderson, Mechanicsburg. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Chilcoat, Rockhill Furnace; Mrs. Alice Hall, Huntingdon, and Mrs. Emma Shope, Greensburg, and eighteen grandchildren. The deceased was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle. He was a graduated of the Orbisonia High School, and taught in Pennsylvania public schools for 37 years. He was a teacher of the grade school in Cromwell Township, in the Hershey School System, the Dauphin School system and the Cumberland Valley School system, from which he retired in 1954. Funeral services will be held this Monday evening, August 31 at 7:30 p.m. at the G. Book Roth Funeral Home, 801 Belvedere Street, Carlsisle. The Rev. Newton L. Polling will officiate. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery, where graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 1. Mrs. Ethel Jane Jamison, 87, Orbisonia Star Route, died at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 1974, at Northern Virginia Doctor's Hospital, Arlington, Va., where she had been a patient for two weeks. She was born in Cromwell Township on Jan. 5, 1887, a daughter of Fillmore and Sarah Jane Flasher Booher. She was united in marriage to Christopher S. Jamison of Saltillo and he preceded her in death on Jan.1, 1933. She is survived by three children: Harry F. Jamison, Johnstown, G. Arthur Jamison, Orbisonia Star Route, and Maxine J. Martin, Arlington, Va. One sister, Mrs. Edna Shafer, Arlington, Va., also survives, along with seven grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Three children preceded her in death. She was a member of the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be held at the Ott Funeral Home, Orbisonia and interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery at Rockhill Furnace. Mrs. Ethel Blanche Painter, 77, of Rockhill Furnace, died at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 1975, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon where she had been a patient for 10 days. Born on November 14, 1897, at Rockhill Furnace, she was a daughter of the late George and Laura Belle (Linn) Potts. She was joined in matrimony to Stephen W. Painter of Rockhill Furnace on September 4, 1919, in Orbisonia by the Rev. Joseph Weaver of the EUB Church. Her widower and the following children survive: S. Robert of Orbisonia, Enver W. of Las Vegas, Nev., Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Briggs of Orbisonia and James L. of Glenside. She had 17 grandchildren adn seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and a sister: Chalmers Potts of Alpine Calif, Mrs. Grace Kelly of Orbisonia and Benjamin Ptoos of York. Mrs. Painter was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church of Orbisonia and belonged to the Madden-Wennick Post No. 518 American Legion Auxiliary of Orbisonia. Interment will be in the Orbisonia Cemetery Mrs. Fannie Rosetta Rogers, 91, died at 10 a.m. Sunday, October 22, 1967, at the home of her son, Albert Rogers, Three Springs, R.D. She had been bedfast for the past year. Prior to moving into her son's home on August 3, she had lived with her daughter in Altoona. She was born October 8, 1876, in Cromwell Township, the daughter of Filmore and Sarah (Flasher) Booher and was united in marriage to William G. Rogers of Cromwell Township. He preceded her in death August 27, 1940. Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Angermier, Altoona, two sons, Albert Rogers, Three Springs, R.D. and Lewis Rogers, Cleveland, Ohio, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are the following brothers and sisters; Lloyd Booher, Fayette City; Orville Booher, Orbisonia, R.D.; Ethel Jamison, Orbisonia R.D.; Mrs Christie Shore, Martinsburg and Mrs. Edna Shaffer, Arlington, Va. Mrs. Flora Ann Booher, 77,, Shirleysburg, R.D., died on Sunday, August 3, 1909, at 5:15 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clair Henry of Mount Union. She had been in failing health for eight weeks. She was born on July 19, 1892 at Three Spirngs, a daughter of Samuel and Blanche (Waite) Cohenour. She was united in marriage to Harry S. Booher of Cromwell Township on March 23, 1909 at Orbisonia. Her husband preceded her in death on July 13, 1944. Surviving children are: Mrs. Violet White of Reading, Mrs. Clair (Dorothy) Henry of Mount Union, Mrs. Ralph (Virginia) Leonard of Manassas, Va.; Harry D. Booher of Whittensville, Mass.; Donald S. Booher of Shirleysburg R.D., Mac. L. Booher of Mount Union R.D., Mrs. Ida Mae Berrier of Malvern and Blair F. Booher of Manassas, Va. Mrs. Booher was a member of the Old School Baptist Church of Cassville. During her life she enjoyed writing poetry. Interment will be made in the Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia, R.D. Mrs. Florence R. Watson, 76, of 417 Washington Streeet, Huntingdon died Friday, October 1, 1971 at 8 a.m. at her home. She had been in her usual health and death came about very unexpectedly. She was born in Orbisonia on October 11, 1895, a daughter of Caleb K. and Emma T. (Miller) Rinker. She was twice married, first being united to George Shaffer, who preceded in death. Her second marriage was to John M. Watson, who is also deceased. One daughter, Mrs. Thomas O. (Joy) Oeffner of Huntingdon, survives. Another daughter died in infancy. There are also four step-children, Carl O. Shaffer, Bradenton, Fla.; Mrs. Edward (Marguerite) Oakman, Huntingdon, R.D. 2; Mrs. Ned (Elizabeth) Port, Huntingdon, and John Watson, Huntingdon R.D. 2. Also surviving are one grandson, Randy T. Oeffner of Huntingdon and two step-granddaughters, Mrs. Lester Rittenhouse of New York and Mrs. Frank Burke of Bradenton, Fla. The deceased was a member of the Twelfth Street United Methodist Church and belonged to the United Builders Sunday School Class and the W.S.C.S. organization of the church. Mrs. Watson had served as postmistress of Orbisonia and was also employed with the Westbrook Shoe Store in Huntingdon. For 18 years she worked at the J.C. Gagermeier of Altoona, R.D. 1, died at 11:30 FRIDAY, January 18, 1974 in the Altoona Veterans Administrative hospital in Altoona, after a lengthy illness. He was born October 9, 1892 in Altoona to Joseph and Mary (Maier) Gagermeier. Surviving are five brothers and sisters, Samuel of Altoona, John, Joseph, Mrs. Elizabeth Moran, and Mrs. Catherine Mills, all of Huntingdon. The deceased was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church of Altoona. He was a car builder for the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired in 1957 after 44 years of service. He was a Veteran of WWI and a member of the Altoona Barracks of Veterans of WWI. Franklin Monroe Taylor of Trough Creek Valley, Broad Top Star Route died Monday, January 7, 1974, at 8 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rufus Wilson of Broad Top Star Route. He was formerly of Monroeville. Born July 5, 1897 at Three Springs, he was a son of Harry and Annie (Fraker) Taylor. He was united in marriage on March 17, 1918 to Marie Wible who preceded him in death November 18, 1970. Surviving are a step-mother, Mrs. Laura Taylor of Lewistown and these children: Mrs. Rufus (Daisy) Wilson, Broad Top Star Route and Mrs. Gladys Flynn, Santa Monica, Calif. There are seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, Wallace Taylor of Pitcairn and a sister, Mrs. Edna Williams of Pittsburgh. The deceased had attended the United Methodist Church of Todd. He had been employed as a locomotive engineer by the Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring in 1963. Interment will be made in the Clear Ridge Cemetery in Fulton County Fred Kyper of Riddlesburg, a former resident of Huntingdon, died at 2:45 a.m. today, Monday, May 25, 1959 in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for the past week and had been a patient at the hospital since May 17. He was born September 30, 1872, in Oneida Township, Huntingdon County, a son of Daniel and Harriet (Heffner) Kyper. He was married to Cora May Streightiff on March 8, 1892 at Center Union by th Rev. William B. Miller. His wife, of Huntingdon, survives along with towo sons, James G. Kyper of Warrior Oaks and Hayden F. Kyper of St. Augustine, Fla., and one daughter, Miss Katharine Kyper of Huntingdon. One daughter preceded him in death. There are six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. The deceased was a member of the Abbey Church of Huntingdon. He had been employed with the Pennsylvania Railroad and served as a carpenter with the maintenance department. (The remainder of the obituary is gone.DW) Gary Clifford Stevens, 29, of Rockhill Furnace died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, September 28, 1975, at the Hershey Medical Center, where he had been a patient for three months. Mr. Stevens had been in failing health for the past year and one-half. A son of Clifford and Betty (Jacka) Stevens, he was born November 10, 1945 in Cromwell Township, R.D.2, Three Springs. On June 24, 1964, he was married to the former Sandra K. Appleby of Hustontown by the Rev. Francis P. Yarlett. Surviving are his parents of RD. 2, Three Springs; his widew and two daughters, Rena and Tonya, both at home. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Brenda Black of R.D. 2, Three Springs. The deceased attended the Fairview Evangelical Church at R.D., Three Springs. He belonged to the Order of Demolay at Huntingdon. A 1963 graduate of Sourthern Huntingdon County High School, he had been employed until his illness, as a route salesman for the Wible Bottling Works of Three Springs. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. George L. Boslett, 82, who resided at Penn Hunt Hotel, Huntingdon, died Saturday, September 9, 1967, at 9:30 a.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where he had been a patient since August 21. He had been in failing health for the past year. Born January 18, 1885, in Altoona, he was a son of Milton and Anna Mary (Sherry) Boslett. He was united in marriage to Seraphine Greiner on November 28, 1911. She preceded him in death January 11, 1960. Surviving are two sons: Francis G. Boslett, Huntingdon and Lt. Col. Joseph E. Boslett of Thailand, and two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Margorie) Sponeybarger, Huntingdon and Mrs. Leonard (Elizabeth) Parson, Huntingdon R.D.2. There are seven grandchildren. One son, George preceded him in death. Also surviving are two brothers, Maurice Boslett and Earl Boslett, both of Altoona, and a sister, Miss Catherine Boslett of Baltimore, Md. A brother James preceded him in death. The deceased was a member of the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon. He belonged to he Knights of Columbus. Boslett had been employed at Owens-Corning Fiberglas, in the special operations department of the Huntingdon plant since 1943. He retired in 1959. He had been a resident of Huntingdon since 1930. Solemn requiem mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12, at 10:00 a.m. in Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon. The Rev. Fr. Francis A. Ackerson will be the celebrant. Interment will be made in Holy Cross Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends may call at Brown's funeral home, Huntingdon after 7 p.m. today and until the hour of the services Tuesday. George Lloyd Figard, 75, of Cold Spring Road, Huntingdon died Monday, June 19, 1972 at 12 noon at the home of daughter, Mrs. William Montanari in Monroeville. He was born December 28, 1896 at Six Mile Run, a son of Watson and Harriet (Walters) Figard. He was united in marriage to Merla Bergstresser on September 2, 1925. His wife survives, along with three daughters: Mrs. William (Britta) Montanari, Monroeville; Mrs. William (Helene) Monahan, Hayett; and Mrs. Warren (Jeanelle) Frank, Huntingdon. Figard was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He was of the Protestant faith. A moving picture projectionist, he was last employed by The Flick theatre at State College. He had served as business agent for Local 636, IATSE, of Lewistown for 16 years. Interment will be made in the Three Springs Cemetery. George W. Meckbach, 83, of 1322 Scott St., Huntingdon, died Thursday, March 16, 1967 at 4:15 p.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He had been in failing health for the past month and had been a patient of the hospital since March 7. Born in Huntindon on October 28, 1883, he was a son of Henry and Elizabeth (Witzel) Meckbach. He was united in marriage to Blanche Snyder on November 2, 1905 in the Reformed Church parsonage at Huntingdon by the Rev. D.E. Masters. His wife preceded him in death September 25, 1957. Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Samuel (Mabel) Coffman and Mrs. Ann Weber, both of Huntingdon; a granddaughter and a great-grandson. One daughter preceded him in death in infancy. The deceased was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. He was a lifelong member of the Abbey Church, United Church of Christ, Huntingdon. He belonged to Donation Grange, Lodge No. 330. Meckbach had been employed with the Huntingdon Bank Book Company for over 30 years having retired in 1960. He was educated in the Huntingdon public scchools and graduated from Huntinddon Area High School. His entire life had been spent in Huntingdon. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Mrs. Gertrude Alice Drake, 79, of Orbisonia Star Route, died Friday, May 9, 1969, at 1:25 p.m. in the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, where she had been a patient for six days. She had been in failing health for the past year. Born July 25, 1889, in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of Shade and Mollie (Lafferty) Booher. She was united in marriage with Franklin F. Drake of Everett, on June 19, 1907, in Orbisonia. He preceded her in death on October 22, 1962, Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Leo (Freda) Krugh, Orbisonia R.D.: Fern M. Drake, Orbisonia R.D.; Mrs. John (Martha) Ross, McVeytown R.D.; Mrs. Elmer (Jenevieve) Suders, Mount Union R.D.:; Mrs. James (Hazel) Ingram, McConnellsburg; Mrs. Anthony Mary) Alesi, Mount Union, and Earl F. Drake, Orbisonia; also 14 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. One brother, George Booher of Rockhill Furnace survives. Mrs. Drake was a member of the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, at 2 p.m. from the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Donald R. Keith, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be made in Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia R.D. Friends will be received at the Ott funeral home, Orbisonia after noon Sunday and until 11 a. m. Monday, and at the church from noon Monday until the hour of the services.
