Jackson, 91, of 168 Silverford Heights Road, Mount Union, died at 11:19 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at the Lewistown Hospital. The funeral service was held July 27 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Grundon officiating. Interment was in Newton Hamilton Memorial Cemetery. Born Oct. 17, 1912, in Ambler, he was the son of the late Clarence and Tacie (Styer) Jackson. He was united in marriage to Kathleen (Price) Jackson on Nov. 29, 1935, in McVeytown. She survives at their home. Also surviving is one brother, Allen S. Jackson of Kentucky. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by an infant son; a brother, Clarence Jackson; and a sister, Grace Jackson. He graduated from Coatesville High School in the Class of 1932. He was a veteran of both the U.S. Army, 3rd Calvary, and the U.S. Navy, the branch in which he served during World War II. Mr. Jackson retired in 1977 from Ludlow Corp., Edgemoor, Del., where he worked for 38 years. He was a member of the Simpson-Hunt American Legion Post 107, Mount Union. He loved hunting and fishing.
