Jaymes, 71, of 135 West Garber St., Mount Union, died at 5:35 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at the Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. He had battled cancer for the past year. Funeral services were held Feb. 12 at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Officiating was Rev. Stephen Motter. Interment was in the Mount Union Cemetery. Born May 10, 1930, in Allenport, Mount Union, he was a son of Charles and Erma (Murphy) Jaymes. He was married to Fae (Kline) Jaymes on Nov. 29, 1957, in the Allenport Methodist Church parsonage by Rev. Frank Crawford. She survives at their home. Also surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Martin (Melanie) Kyper Jr. of Mount Union; one granddaughter and three step-grandchildren. Mr. Jaymes is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Lester Jaymes of RD1 Mount Union, Chester Jaymes of RD1 Mount Union, Glen Jaymes of Silverford Heights, Mount Union, Thelma Arnold of Mount Union and Floyd Jaymes of Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Jaymes. He attended the Christian and Missionary Church in Mount Union. Mr. Jaymes was a longtime member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, gardening and doing home projects. His entire life was spent as a carpenter by trade, but he also worked for several years at Harbison-Walker Refractories in Mount Union and for 14 years as a custodian at the Mount Union Area High School.
