Johns, veteran ice and coal dealer, died June 24, after a long illness. Born in Rock Hill, Huntingdon County June 7, 1876, he moved to Pitcairn (Allegheny County) in 1898. He began the coal and ice business in 1911 and continued until sickness came. His wife Nena (Nena Catherine Keebaugh 1873-1945) died in 1945. He is survived by four sons, John W., Harry E., Charles D., James E., and two daughters, Mrs. Frances Stanger and Della M. He also leaves 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Greater Beneficial Union Life Member Pitcairn F.O.E. and a Life Member of Pitcairn Fire Co. No. 2, where he served as a volunteer for 23 years. He was buried in Orbisonia, Huntingdon County, PA. June 27. Pearce & Son conducted the funeral.
