Johnston, brother of Mrs. Mary Pressel, of this city, died at his home at Shoenberger Friday morning at 9:45 o'clock of pneumonia, after a week's illness. His wife, Mrs. Martha Everhart Johnston survives, with four children at home, and his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Johnston, of Spruce Creek. Two brothers and six sisters also survive. He was a member of the Presbyterian church of that place. The funeral will take place from the home this morning, followed by interment in the Presbyterian cemetery at Graysville. Edwin Johnston, a highly respected citizen, a beloved neighbor and friend and devoted husband and father, died at his home in Eden Valley, Friday morning, January 10, of pneumonia. He was born in Spruce Creek valley September 26, 1879, and had resided all his life in that vicinity. He was an active member of the Presbyterian church for the past twenty years, being an officer of the Birmingham church at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Spruce Creek grange, No. 490 and the P.O.S. of A., of Warriorsmark. He is survived by his wife, Martha Everhart Johnston and the following children: William, Alexander, Edwin Benjamin and John. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Johnston, of Spruce Creek valley and these brothers and sisters: C. Bruce, Vaughn, Sarah H. and Anna M., at home; Mrs. L. D. Gensimore, of Eden Valley; Mrs. W. K. Pressell, of Altoona; Mrs. G. G. Shultz, of Swissvale; Mrs. Edwin Stover, of Eden Hill and Mrs. W. N. Harris, of Pitcairn. Interment was made yesterday morning in Graysville cemetery.
