"Jim" Judy, age 86, and formerly of Graysville, died February 27, 2004 in Huntingdon, PA. She was born in Pennsylvania Furnace, PA on September 19, 1917, the daughter of Ralph and Anna (Deter) Judy. She was educated in the public schools and graduated from the State College Area High School in 1933 and from the Altoona School of Commerce in 1935 in Business Administration. She also graduated from the Public Services Institute in both Civil and Criminal Law and from Pennsylvania Association of Notaries correspondence school in Pittsburgh. She was employed by the United States Postal Service from 1953 until September 1985, retiring as Postmaster of the Pennsylvania Furnace Post Office. She was a member of the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, the Centre County Postmasters Association, and the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries. She served in the office of Justice of the Peace of Franklin Township from 1964 until 1970. She was appointed a Notary Public in 1971 and served until 2001. She was treasurer of Graysville Cemetery Association from 1971 until 2001. She was preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth Townsend in 2000. She is survived by a niece and nephew, Lani and Ed Townsend, and many cousins. Services will be held at the Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m., Sunday, March 7 followed by burial at the Graysville Cemetery.
