KANN [photo] Alfred N. Kann, 108 South Eleventh Street, Huntingdon, died at 4:30 a.m., Sunday, May 28, 1972, at his home. He had been in failing health for several years. He was 75. The deceased was born in Blairs Mills, R.D., Huntingdon County, on Aug. 13, 1896 a son of John H. and Nancy (Ryan) Kann. He was united in marriage to Elsie Querry, the ceremony being performed at Baltimore, Md. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by seven sisters and five brothers. He had worked for the Huntingdon and Broad Top Mountain Railroad, the Pennsylvania Railroad and also the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon. In 1934 he entered business for himself, retiring in 1959. He attended the Calvary Independent Baptist Church when his health permitted. He had been a resident of Huntingdon since 1911. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brown's funeral home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Wilber C. Barber will officiate and interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home after 7 p.m., today, Monday and until the hour for the services tomorrow. Those wish. . .
