Kann, 68, of 112 Mount Vernon Ave., Huntingdon, died at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1988, at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since Feb. 1. He had been in failing health for the past few months. He was born Nov. 30, 1919, in Huntingdon, the son of John A. and Eunice (Gilliland) Kann. On Jan. 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Irene White at Hollidaysburg. His wife preceded him in death Nov. 9, 1966. Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Donald (Donna) Leidig of Tyrone, R.D.4, Mrs. Linda Meadows and Mrs. Edward (Marcia) Dennard, both of Lake City, Fla.; and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Foster of Huntingdon, R.D.2. There are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Kann was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by a brother, Ken. He was a member of the St. James Lutheran Church, Huntingdon. He was educated in the public schools in Smithfield and graduated in 1938 from Huntingdon High School. He was a life member of the Huntingdon Hook and Ladder Fire Company and for many years was active in the Huntingdon Ambulance Division. Mr. Kann owned and operated Art's Diner in Smithfield for many years and retired in 1967. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, the Rev. Michael L. Thompson officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. The Daily News, Thursday, February 4, 1988
