Kiner, aged 24 years, 2 months, and 6 days. Cut down in the bloom of youth, with all the high hopes of the future, which she so fondly cherished, rudely dashed to the earth, her death solemnly appeals to all to be ready. As a daughter, she was dutiful and affectionate; as a sister, loving, generous, and true; and as a friend, faithful, and kind, ever willing to suffer pain herself, rather than see another suffer. She had a kind word and pleasant smile for all. And I would add, that her character and dress were a pattern for all. Her ear-rings being attention, encircled with pearls of refinement; her neck-lace was truth, and the chain morality; her bosom pin, was modesty, set with compassion; her bracelets were charity, ornamented with gentleness; her finger-rings were affection, set round with diamonds of industry; her drapery politeness, and her shoes wisdom; secured by buckles of perseverance. Her dying words were of such comfort, as none but the Christian know. They were "I'm going home and want all to meet me in Heaven." Rest, weary one, rest, soon the flowers of Spring will bloom over thy grave, may the turf above thee be ever green, and may affection's tears bedew the spot where sleeps one with whom we were so loth to bid a long, but we trust not a final, farewell.
