The deceased was a daughter of Conrad and Anna Snare, and was the second child of a large family, of whom, only four are now living, Mrs. Alexander Parks of Entriken, Henry of Huntingdon, Samuel and Jonathan of Iowa. October the 6th, 1842, Mary Snare was united in wedlock with Samuel Kissinger. To this union six children were born, of these three preceded the mother into the spirit land, two in infancy, and Maggie, wife of T. Wilday Black, some 15 years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. Isaac Lamp of Huntingdon, Catherine at home, and Mrs. Frank Martin, of Fair county, Nebraska. Mrs. Kissinger was a faithful member of the Methodist Protestant church, having united with that church in 1855, during the pastorate of Rev. Holmes. The deceased was born on the farm now owned by Andrew Grove, and in a direct line, the place of her death was not one mile from the place of her birth. Her quiet, peaceful, and yet useful life of almost seventy-five years was spent within a radius of two miles. And yet by her kindness of heart, her gentle disposition, her ministration to the poor and needy, her sympathy in times of bereavement and affliction, had secured for her a warm place in the affections of her neighbors for miles around. And what better tribute to the dead, than the love and respect of the living. The aged husband and daughters have the sincere sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. The deceased was laid to rest in the Reformed cemetery near Marklesburg, Rev. Graham of the M.E. church. clipping
