MRS. F. H. LANE.

  The death of Mrs. Gen. F. H. Lane, which occurred at her residence, 
on Seventh street, at an early hour on Saturday morning, was sudden and 
unexpected.  A week previous she had been attacked with a severe pain 
in the stomach and bowels, which, in connection with the intense heat, 
prostrated her, and she was forced to take to her bed.  The disease in 
a day or two yielded to medical treatment, and no fears of a serious 
termination were entertained, but on Friday she suddenly grew worse, 
and during the early hours of Saturday morning her spirit winged its 
flight to that undiscovered country beyond.  She was for a long series 
of years a consistent member of the Baptist church, and is now enjoying 
the reward promised the faithful in Christ.  Deceased was aged 51 
years, and a husband, two sons and a daughter are left to mourn the 
death of a loving wife and affectionate mother.

The Tomb.

LANE. - At her residence, on Seventh street, Huntingdon, July 30th, 
Charlotte A., wife of F. H. Lane, and only daughter of J. B. Kidder.
  Her illness lasted only a week and her friends hoped for her 
restoration to the last.  In her removal her family lost a devoted 
daughter, wife and mother, and the community one who was interested in 
every benevolent object.  On Monday, Aug. 1st, the people of Huntingdon 
showed their sympathy to the afflicted family by attending her funeral, 
at which her pastor, Rev. J. H. Chambers, strove to comfort the 
mourners and profit all hearers.  - Rev. Dr. Freeman and Revs. Quinter 
and Masser took part in the services.
