Leary died at the home of his father, Jerome Leary, at Duley, Pa., yesterday morning at 6 o'clock. The young man had been located in Altoona for the past three years, being employed in the Pennsy blacksmith shop at Fourteenth street and boarding at 1427 Twelfth avenue. The young man went to Dudley Thursday night and the following day was taken seriously ill. Pneumonia developed and it was this that caused his death. He was aged 29 years. Besides his father he is survived by a sister, Mary A. Leary, and a brother, Jerome, jr., both of Dudley, and two other brothers, John Leary of 2409 Fourth avenue and Edward Leary, who is in the United States aviation, being located at Vancouver, Wash. The deceased was a member of the Knights of St. George, the Knights of Columbus and the Young Men's Institute and worshipped at St. John's church in this city. For several seasons he played baseball with both the Y.M.I. and the General Office of the Pennsy league teams. He was one of the city's best pitchers. The funeral will be held at Dudley.
