LEWIS.

  Alexander L. Lewis died at his home on Ninth street, this place, 
Sunday morning, of influenza and pneumonia, which he contracted in 
Altoona ten days ago, where he was employed as a painter by the P.R.R.  
He was a son of John H. Lewis, proprietor of the Fourth street 
restaurant, and was 32 years old.  He was a splendid man, a member of 
the Presbyterian church from boyhood, and had a wide circle of friends.  
He was married to Mrs. Nannie Whittaker, a widow, and was the father of 
three children: Walter, Minerva and John.   Two children to Mrs. Lewis' 
first husband also survive.  The brothers and sisters of deceased are 
as follows: John, Davis, William, Cyrus, Della, Minerva and Flora, all 
of Huntingdon.  The funeral, which was private, was held on Tuesday 
afternoon, Rev. Dr. Daubenspeck officiating.
