All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ ALEXANDER LORETTIS LEWIS Alexander Lorettis Lewis died at his home, 420 Ninth street, on Sunday Oct. 20th, at 8.40 a.m. from the effects of Spanish influenza and pneumonia. Deceased was the son of John H. Lewis, of 320 Church street, and Mrs. Nannie Lewis (deceased). He was aged at time of death, 32 years, 3 months and 19 days. He was a highly respected young man and employed as a painter on the Pennsylvania railroad. He was a consistent member of the Presbyterian church of Huntingdon, having united with it at the age of twelve years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Whitaker, a widow, who survives him with two children to her first husband: Leslie and Ray Whittaker; also the following children by her marriage to Mr. Lewis: Walter, Minerva and John Lewis, all at home. He is also survived by his father, John Lewis, and by four brothers and three sisters, as follows: John, Davis, William, Cyrus and the Misses Della, Minerva and Flora Lewis, all at home. The funeral, which was private, was conducted on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. R. P. Doubenspeck, with interment in Riverview cemetery. Altoona Times, Altoona, Pa., Thursday Morning, October 24, 1918
