She was the wife of the lat Wendell J. Lon, who died in 1989. They were married on June 18, 1942. Mrs. Long was a homemaker. She was a 1934 graduate of Huntingdon High School. Before her marriage, she worked as a secretary at Swigart's Associates, Huntingdon. In her later years, she volunteered at the Elizabethtown Public Library. Mrs. Long was a member of Christ Church United Church of Christ, Elizabethtown,where she was a member of the Chancel Choir and Women's Fellowship and filled in as a secretary when needed. She loved gardening, reading and nature. Born in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Martha Speck Hess. Surviving are two daughters, Susan Jean, wife of Timothy Little, Pittsburgh; and Nancy Ellen, wife of Eric Pippart, Lancaster; two sisters, Virginia Evelyn Kelly and Arlene E., wife of John Evans, both of Huntingdon; and one brother, Lester M. Hess, Hendersonville, NC. Note: Born 8-25-1916 and died 12-23-2000 Burial: Risser Mennonite Church Cemetery, Mt.
