Long, 93, of 11871 Keystone Road, Shirleysburg, died Thursday, February 7 at 12:30 a.m. at the Huntingdon Nursing & Rehab. Center, Huntingdon. Funeral service was held on Sunday, February 10 at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon with Pastor Myers Kimmel officiating. Interment was made in Germany Valley Cemetery, Shirleysburg. He was born on January 26, 1915 in Henderson Township, Huntingdon Co. and he was the son of the late Harry Fremont and Emma Catherine (Atherton) Long. He was married twice, He was first married to Edith Emery and then he was married to Thelma Bolinger, both preceded him in death. Mr. Long is survived by the following grandchildren: Sandra Lane of Port Royal; Duane Long and wife Brenda of Blacklog Valley; Mark Long and wife, Janet of Mount Union; Cheryl Long of NC and Arceli Long of El Paso, TX. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren. And a brother Rufus Long of McVeytown. He was preceded in death by three sons: Robert, Harry and Fred Long. He also is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: James; Herbert; William; Myra and Hazel. Mr. Long was a member of the Ardenheim Independent Baptist Church. He was a long distance truck driver throughout the Northeastern United States for various companies. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, PA, February 13, 2008
