It is with feelings of genuine sorrow that we chronicle the death of Marion S. Lytle, eldest son of Milton S. and Lizzie Lytle, which occurred at the residence of his parents, on Washington street, at an early hour on Saturday morning. On the 30th of May last he entered the composing room of the Journal to learn the composing trade, and up until the early days of November, when ill health compelled him to cease his labors, was always at his post ready and willing to discharge every task assigned him. During the early part of November he became a victim of typhoid fever, and after weeks of patient suffering, recovered from the disease and was thought to be out of danger, when he was again compelled to take his bed suffering from pulmonary trouble, which resulted in his death. He was a young man of more than ordinary intelligence, and had his life been spared would have won prominence in the calling of his choice. He was aged 19 years, 6 months and 2 days at the time of his death. It is hard for us to realize that Marion is dead, but the sad truth was revealed to us on Monday afternoon as we followed his remains to the City of the Silent and saw them consigned to their final resting place. Our young friend was summoned home in life's morning, just as he was budding into young manhood and when the future wore a rosy hue to him, but we are informed by those who watched by him and administered to his wants, that he was perfectly resigned to his fate, ready to go, when the Master called. To the stricken family we tender our heartfelt sympathies in this the darkest hour of their lives. The Huntingdon Journal, Huntingdon, Pa., Friday, January 27, 1888
