We encourage links to the state and county table of contents. ____________________________________________________________ James Clayton DAVIS, 80, of Alexandria, R.R. 1, Porter Township, died at 7:05 a.m. Sunday March 2, 2003, at his home. Born Oct. 2, 1922, in Gulick Township, Clearfield County, he was a son of the late George L. and Minnie Mary (Reffner) Davis. He was united in marriage to the former Hazel Viola Foster Feb. 4, 1950, at the bride’s home, Petersburg, R.R. 1. Mrs. Davis preceded him in death Feb. 22, 1993. He is survived by one daughter Mrs. John G. (H. Roseanna) Colbert of Alexandria; two granddaughters, Gretchen Colbert of Pittsburgh and Mrs. Andrew (Kristen) Grove of Huntingdon; two great-granddaughters, Miray and Keaira; and two great-grandsons, Dylan and Ryan. His friend and companion, Blanche McGeary, survives in Petersburg. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Donald Davis; an infant brother, Clifford Davis; and a half brother, Benjamin Traxler. Mr. Davis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Alexandria, where he had served as an elder and trustee. He also attended the Sinking Valley Presbyterian Church and was active as a helper for projects and a supporter of various other Juniata Valley churches and their activities. He was a member of the Juniata Valley Lions Club from 1985-2003 where he had served as the coveted lion tamer for a long number of years. He was a member of Shavers Creek Grange No. 353. A resident of the Juniata Valley since 1952, he worked at Standard Steel, Burnham from February1952-October 1982. He also farmed in West Township from 1952 until 1979. From 1983, he worked on the Porter Township road crew until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Davis was a "people person" and no matter where he was or what he was doing, he always had time to make friends and make others feel important. He enjoyed plants, flower, gardening and woodworking. He was especially fond of working at the Juniata Valley Lions Club and Alexandria Fire Company chicken barbecues. He also enjoyed hunting and would educate his family members, during their time in the woods, on the names of trees and other significant plants. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Wednesday, March 5, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home- Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main St., Alexandria, with the Revs. Pamela S. Szurek and John C. Dean officiating. Interment will be made in Mooresville Cemetery, West Township, Petersburg, R.R. 1. Virginia Grace WISER, 79, a resident of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, and formerly of Blairs Mills and Mifflintown, died at 7:53 am. Saturday, March 1, 2003, at Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown. Born Feb. 9, 1924, in Salem, Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Harrison Blair and Minnie Gertrude (Yocum) Parson. She was united in marriage to Donald Harvey Wiser, Aug. 30, 1947, in Mount Union. Mr. Wiser preceded her in death March 13, 1976. One son and one daughter survive; Donald Ray Wiser, Albany, Minn., and Mrs. Gregg (Kay) Clugston, East Waterford. There are eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two step-great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, four sisters and six brothers. Mrs. Wiser was a member of the Nossville United Methodist Church, Nossville, where she was a former Sunday School teacher. A homemaker, she enjoyed making quilts for her family and was known for her excellent cooking. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, March 5, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Virginia "Ginny" Eminhizer officiating. Interment will be made in Nossville Cemetery. Blairs Mills, R.R. William L. STOUT Jr., 56, of Petersburg, R.R. 1, died Saturday, March 1, 2003. at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born Oct. 30, 1946, in New Eagle, he was a son of the late William L. Sr. and Dina A. (Ross) Stout. He married the former Marilynne Ward Sept. 30, 1989. Mrs. Stout survives at home. Two sons survive; William J. Stout, serving with the military overseas and his wife, Jennifer; and James R. Stout of Kitty Hawk, N.C. He is also survived by two brothers; Charles Stout, Clairton; and John Stout, Chesapeake. Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Stout was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pine Grove Mills, where he served on the church council and the building committee. He was a member of the Penn State Graduate Faculty, American Society of Agronomy, Soil Science Society of America, American Forage and Grassland Council, Northeast Pasture and Grazing Consortium, Soil Conservation Society of America, Pennsylvania Plant Food and Protectant Society and the Penn State University Grazing Research and Education Center. He was a certified professional soil scientist in the American Registry of Professionals in Agronomy, Crops and Soils and was a member of Phi Epsilon Phi, Sigma Xi and Gamma Sigma Delta. Mr. Stout earned an associate degree in engineering in 1966, a BS in agronomy in 1969, a MS in agronomy (soil classification) in 1972 and a PhD in agronomy (soil chemistry) in 1976, all from Penn State University. He was a rescarch soil scientist for 27 years with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He was a technical adviser for Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative and for the Project Grass through the Natural Resource Conservation Service and was an adjunct faculty member at Penn State in the department of crop and soil science. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A memorial service will be held at the church at noon Tuesday, with the Rev. Carl D. Campbell officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Koch Funeral Home, State College. Alfred Adam ‘Bud’ YARNELL, 85, of Petersburg. R.R. 1, Barree Township, died at 2:50 am. Sunday, March 2, 2003. at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon. Born Feb. 24, 1918. in Mifflinburg, he was a son of the late Thomas Howard and Mamie Ellen (Pick) Yarnell. He married his first wife, the former Rachel M. Edmiston. Aug. 19, 1939, in Cumherland, Md. She preceded him in death Feb. 1, 1996. His second union was to the former Myrtle A. "Marty" (Flasher) Everhart Oct. 1, 1996, in Kissimmee, Fla. Mrs. Yarnell survives at their home. He is also survived by two sons; John A. Jack Yarnell and Charles L. Yarnell, both of Petersburg, and two stepsons and two stepdaughters; Mark T. Everhart, Petersburg; Mrs. Jeffrey (Pamela E.) Forsht, Gilbert, Ark.; and Gloria J. Everhart and Matthew W. Everhart, both of Petersburg. There are three grandchildren, one great-grandchild and three step-grandchildren. Four sisters and one brother survive; Anna Belle Miller and Donna L. Jacob, both of Huntingdon; Phyllis L. Heilig, Duncannon; Madeline Williams, Harrisburg; and Thomas H. Yarnell Jr., Huntingdon. Two sisters, Betty J. Eherhart and Martha E. Black, preceded him in death. Mr. Yarnell was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Petersburg, where he had served on church council, as a Sunday School teacher and in the adult choir. He was past commander and chaplain of American Legion Post No. 150, Petersburg. He was a member of La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux (Forty et Eight) Voyagers of Voiture No. 820; BPOE Lodge No. 976, Huntingdon; and was a past scoutmaster for Boy Scouts of America, Troop 93, Petersburg. He served on the board of directors of Petersburg Area Development Association and helped in bringing Petersburg Transformer Corporation to Petersburg in 1960. In 1976, he was on the Petersburg Bi-centennial Committee and served as parade chairman for one of the largest parades in Petersburg history. He attended the the Petersburg Voctional High School. During World War II, he served with the United States Army from March 17, 1944 to Jan. 5. 1946. He served with Company L, 345th Infantry Regiment, 87th Division and obtained the rank of Technician Fifth Grade. He was awarded a Purple Heart, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one Bronze star, the World War II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. A resident of the Petersburg area since 1920, he enjoyed playing baseball and played for Petersburg in the Huntingdon County League from 1936-1942. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and helped to organize Petersburg Fire Prevention and Game Association (a predecessor to Petersburg Sportsmen’s Association) in 1949 and served as president, secretary and treasurer. He worked for a number of years as a yard and shipping foreman at Robinson and Clay Refractories (Alfarata) Alexandria, until 1953. He retired as Petersburg postmaster in 1982 after 27 years service with the U.S. Postal Service. While serving as postmaster, he was instrumental in securing the property where a new post office was built and dedicated in 1964. After retirement, his favorite pastime was gardening and he enjoyed sharing his crops with family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the Zion Lutheran Church, 501 St. Peters St., Petersburg, with the Revs. Don Costlow and Paul Bowen officiating. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery, where full military honors will be accorded. Freda M. KNEPP, 83, of 421 S. Jefferson St., Mount Union, died early Monday morning, March 3, 2003, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Her death was unexpected. Born Oct. 13, 1919, in Allenport, Mount Union, she was a daughter of the late Harry A. and Teressa M. (Rohrer) Linn. She was married to John Knepp July 24, 1937. Mr Knepp preceded her in death June 3, 1996. One daughter, Mona Pagano of Mount Union, survives. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Pete Pagano, Jonathan Knepp and Mary Linn Knepp, and a great-grandson, Jeremy Pagano. Three sisters survive; Helena Shinifelt Kerr of Ohesson Manor, Lewistown; Ruth Bilger of Mount Union, R.R. 1; and Eva Williams of Germany Valley, Mount Union, R.R. 1. She was preceded in death by a son, Randy K. Knepp; a sister, Marie Watters; and three brothers, Willis H. Linn, Charles Linn and John Linn. Mrs. Knepp was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. For over 35 years, she was the owner/operator of Freda Knepps Beauty Salon in Huntingdon. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, with the Rev. Robert Davidson officiating. Interment will be made in Pine Glen Cemetery, Mattawanna. Clarence Nelson CAREY, 79, of Milford, Maine, died Saturday. March 1, 2003, at a Bangor, Maine, hospital. Born Feb. 1, 1924, in Old town, Maine, he was a son of the late Frank and Jennie (Hamel) Carey. He was married to the former Emma Dubay who preceded him in death. He is survived by a son, William Carey and his wife, Barbara, of Old Town; four daughters,. Mrs. Malcolm (Donna) Ambrose, Huntingdon; Mrs. Philip (Sharon) Melanson. Milford, Maine; Mrs. Shane (Wenda) DeMarco, Passadumkeag, Maine; and Mrs. Philip (Tonia) Harmon, Abbot, Maine. There are 23 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Carey; one granddaughter, Angela Lynn Melanson; one great-grandson, Caleb DeLauney; and two brothers, Ivan Carey and Arthur Carey. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV); American Legion Post of Old Town; VFW Post No. 3381 of Old Town; the Cooties, and the Moose Lodge, Huntingdon. A veteran of World War II, he served as a gunnery with the 16th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, United States Army and was awarded the Purple Heart. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Funeral services were held March 4, at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main Street, Old Town, with Pastor Daniel Muscatell officiating. Spring interment, with full military honors, will be conducted at Gould’s Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag. John ZANYLO, 84, of 85 Penn St., Huntingdon, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, 360 Westminster Drive, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. He resided at his Penn Street home for over 55 years. Born Oct. 2, 1918, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late Charles Waysl and Marica Zanylo. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Sitch Feb. 2, 1942, at Saint Michael’s Orthodox Church. Wood. Mrs. Zanylo preceded him in death May 17, 2002. He is survived by three daughters and two sons; Kathy M. Erb, Surrey, British Columbia, Canada; Frank M. Zanylo and Joseph P. Zanylo, both of Huntingdon; Susan N. Leitzell, Durham, Maine; and Patty A. Heidel, Mill Creek. There are 11 grandchildren. One brother, Michael Zanylo of Huntingdon survives. He was preceded in death by one son, John Charles Zanylo; two sisters, Mary Stryker and Ann Harbowenski; and one brother, Charles Zanylo. Mr. Zanylo was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Orthodox Church, Huntingdon, where he was a past officer. He was a life member of the Frank P Hommon Post No. 24, American Legion, and the Standing Stone Post No. 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Huntingdon. He was also a member of the United Transportation Union. He attended the Huntingdon public schools and graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1937. He served in the 507th Fighter Group United States Army Air Force from 1942-1946, attaining the rank of sergeant and serving in the American and Pacific Theaters of Operations. Employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, and later retired from Conrail in 1982 with over 35 years service, he was a brake conductor. He enjoyed the outdoors including hunting and fishing and was also an avid football and baseball fan. He also enjoyed woddworking. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home Inc., 417 Washington St., Huntingdon, with the Rev. Thomas Klein officiating. Interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Walker Township, Huntingdon, R.R. 1. Florence Belle (Wolfhope) ABRAMS, 79, of Colonial Manor Nursing Home, York, formerly of Alexandria, died at 10:15 am. Sunday, March 2, 2003, at the nursing home, where she had resided since October 2002. She had been in failing health; however, her death was unexpected. Born Sept. 3, 1923. in Frankstown Township, Hollidaysburg, she was a daughter of the late Stephen L. and Martha E. (Fisher) Wolfhope. She is survived by four sisters and one brother; Mrs. Charles (Mary Jane) Hoffman, Salisbury, Md.; Eleanor Wrye, Tyrone; Georgia A. Conrad, Camden, Del.; Irene Geesey, York; and Philip Wolfhope, Alexandria; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Wolfhope, Roy Wolfhope and Paul Wolfhope. Ms. Abrams was of the Protestant faith. She was a longtime member of VFW Post No. 7909 Ladies Auxiliary, Jacksonville, Fla. and Women of the Moose Lodge No. 1208, Salisbury, Md. A graduate of Alexandria High School, she was a member of the Class of 1942. During World War II, she worked for the Glen L. Martin Defense Contractor in Baltimore County, Maryland, from 1942-1945. She helped put the interior finishing touches on war planes. She later moved to Jacksonville, Fla., working in the specialty garment industry as an accomplished seamstress, making designer uniforms until 1997. Upon her retirement in 1997, she move to Salisbury, Md. She enjoyed homemaking, water skiing, dancing, sewing and intricate craft making. She was a strong, honorable and beautiful woman and a devoted daughter and sister to her family and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, March 8, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home - Juniata Valley Chapel, 412 Main St., Alexandria, with the Rev. John C. Dean officiating. Interment will be made in the Alexandria Presbyterian Cemetery. Dorothy I. Breon, 71, of Route 44, Ramsey, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2003, at her residence. Born Dec. 13, 1931, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Rufus W. and Leona (Stewart) Wilson. She was united in marriage to James F. Breon Jan. 1, 1949. Mr. Breon died Oct. 14, 1993. She is survived by two sons; James W. Breon and wife, Mary, of Howard; Brady L. Breon and wife, Dana. of Waterville; and three daughters: Mrs. Ed (Susan E.) Stamm, Jersey Shore; Mrs. Fred (Robin E.) Beury, Pine Station; and Mrs. James (Brenda J.) Sawyer Hartranft, Jersey Shore. There are 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by six sisters and one brother; Mrs. Harold (Caroline) Wildermuth, Cleona; Betty Evock, Huntingdon; Mrs. Joseph (Phyllis) Brennernan, Huntingdon; Patricia Blair, Cranston. RI.; Mrs. Clarence (Josephine) Hillyard, Jersey Shore; Leona Downs, Elgin. Ill.; and Gus Wilson and wife, Carolyn, Huntingdon. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Lucas, and a brother, Francis Wilson. She retired May 1, 1992, from the housekeeping department of the Jersey Shore Hospital. She was known for her compassion and humor and she loved her family. A life celebration, followed by funeral services, was held March 3, at Trinity United Methodist Church, Jersey Shore, with the Rev. John C. Libert officiating. Interment was made in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Claire Geneva RICHARDSON, 88, formerly of Shippensburg, died at 9:15 p.m. Monday, March 3, 2003, at Manor Care, Chambersburg, where she had been residing. Born March 6, 1914, in Saltillo, she was a daughter of the late William and Minnie (Black) Rohrer. She was united in marriage to Merrill Richardson who preceded her in death in 1975. She was also preceded in death by one son who died in infancy, two brothers and one sister. Mrs. Richardson was of the Protestant faith. She had been a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Thursday, March 6, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. William Hilliard officiating. Interment will be made in Alexander Cemetery, Madera. The Rev. Rick L. EMINHIZER, 55, of HCR 75, Shade Gap, died at 6:30 am. Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at his home. Born July 18, 1947, in Bellefonte, he was a son of Leland and Hazel (Lucas) Eminhizer. His mother is deceased. His father survives, along with his stepmother, Sandy Eminhizer, in Fleming. He was united in marriage to the former Ginny M. Burger Dec. 13, 1969, in Unionville. Mrs. Eminhizer survives at their home. One sister, Mrs. Harry (Robin) Shaw of Runville, survives. He is also survived by his wife’s three sisters and their husbands; Mary and Brent Werner, State College; Linda and Jerry Boyles, Heath, Ohio; and Joyce and Archie Gettig Jr., Bellefonte. Two nieces, Katie and Jennie Shaw of Runville, also survive. The Rev. Eminhizer was an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church and was currently serving as pastor of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church. He graduated in 1965 from Bald Eagle Area High School, received his BS in music education from The Pennsylvania State University in 1970 and his MDiv in 1973 from Wesley Theological Seminary. He served churches in Bristol, Tenn., and Elk Creek, Va., as well as having served the Central Pennsylvania conference at Mexico-Locust Run, Woodland, State College, Pennsdale and his current pastorate. In 1992, with the cooperation of the people of Elk Creek Valley in Virginia, he organized the Elk Creek Valley Rescue Squad. He received the Govemor’s Community Service and Volunteerism Award for the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1997. An EMT and paramedic, he was active with both the Orbisonia-Rockhill Vol. Fire Co. and the Shade Gap Area Vol. Fire Co. Funeral services will be held at 11 am. Friday, March 7, at the Unionville United Methodist Church, Unionville. Interment will be made at Schencks Cemetery, Howard, R.R. John Boyd EWING Jr., 75. a resident of Huntingdon Manor, formerly of Orbisonia, died at 8 am. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon. Born May 31, 1927, in Orbisonia, he was a son of the late J. Boyd and Margaret (Wilson) Ewing. He was married to the former Gwendolyn C. Chilcoat, Nov. 30, 1949, by the Rev. Arthur Carver. Mrs. Ewing preceded him in death Aug. 16, 1982. He is survived by two sons and one daughter; John B. Ewing III, Frederick. Md., Mrs. John (Jennifer) Goshorn. Blairs Mills, R.R.; and Jeff Ewing, Saltillo. There are ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. One son died in infancy. He was also preceded in death by one brother, W. Max Ewing, and one grandson, Shawn Ewing. Mr. Ewing was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church, Orbisonia. He was a life member of the Orbisonia-Rockhill Fire Company as well as a member of Madden-Wennick Post No. 518 American Legion, Rockhill Furnace. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Along with his brother and father, he owned and operated Ewing’s Feed Mill, Orbisonia, until 1972. He then worked for the PA Turnpike Commission, retiring Dec. 30, 1991. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. David Oldham officiating. Interment will be made in Orbisonia Cemetery, Orbisonia. Albert N. GIARDINE, 85, of 15 Front Drive (Country Club Road), Mount Union, died unexpectedly at 10:05 am. Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at the William Penn Nursing Home, Lewistown. Born Aug. 29, 1917, in Mount Union he was a son of the late Nazareno and Antonia (Zinobile) Giardine. He is survived by his friend and companion of 42 years, O. Louise Huey of HCR 61, Mill Creek. He is also survived by the following children and grandchildren; Jane (Huey) Kifer and husband, Ronald, and their children, Laura and Rebecca Kifer, Lewistown; Gina Huey and her daughter, Nikki Huey, of HCR. Mill Creek; and Albert Huey and his wife, Diane (Hoskinson) Huey and their children, Albert, Krystin and Emily Huey and Ashley Crawford of Mount Union. One sister, Lucy Forgy of Mount Union also survives. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters; Romeo Giardine, who had resided in Levittown; Alfred Giardine, who had resided in Mill Creek; and Jenny Temple and Zana Brennan, both of whom had resided in Altoona. Mr. Giardine was an active member of the Moose Lodge No. 223 and the Elks Lodge No. 976, both of Huntingdon. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Bricktown Seniors, VFW Post No. 5754, Mount Union, and was a life member of American Legion Post No. 107, Mount Union. He was a 1936 graduate of Mount Union High School where he was active in sports. Following graduation, he worked at the Civil Conservation Camps and then the Pittsburgh steel mills until World War II. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army 1st Engineer Training Batallion. Following the war, he built the Giardine Motel Town Talk Lounge. Mount Union, and operated it until his retirement. In his retirement years, he enjoyed the outdoors and attending his grandchildren’s sports activities. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, with the Rev. Gordon Ross officiating. Interment will be made in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg, R.R. 1. Blanche E. YODER, 97, a resident of Beverly Health Care - William Penn Nursing Center, formerly of 18 Pleasant St., Bellevilie, died at 11:10 am. Thursday, March 6, 2003. at the nursing center. Born Jan. 7, 1906. in Granville Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late John R. and Mattie (Harshbarger) Kauffman. She was married to Jesse W. Yoder who preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1970. Four children survive; Mrs. Albert (Jane) Richwine, Harrisburg; Faye L. Yoder, Belleville: Marvin J. "Ted" Yoder, Huntingdon; and Doris A. Yoder, Chambersburg. There are four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. One sister, Grace Miller of McVeytown, and one brother, Donald F. Kauffman Sr. of Lewistown, surviye. She was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters; Leonard Kauffman, Walter Kauffman, Alden Kauffman, Bruce Kauffman, Harvey Kauffman, Ernest Kauffman, Jeanette Esh and Ida Freed. Mrs. Yoder was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Belleville. She was formerly a member of the Belleville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. GRESS, 71, of Emlenton, formerly of Huntingdon, died suddenly Saturday, Feb. 15, 2003, at UPMC Northwest, Franklin, after being stricken ill in the Emlenton Post Office parking lot. Born Nov. 24, 1931, in Saltillo, he was the son of Vernon and Geneva Kough Gress. He is survived by his companion of more than 50 years, Edward K. Ed" Evans of Emlenton; a sister Donna Benson of Royersford; a niece. Madonna Bach of Peach Botton; and a nephew, Adrian Benson of Buffalo, N.Y. Following graduation from high school, Mr. Gress attended Juniata College. For a number of years, he and his associate owned and operated dress stores in New York City. He enjoyed many decades of acting and directing at both on and off-Broadway theaters, as well in regional Northeast theaters. While residing in Huntingdon, Mr. Gress founded the Carriage House Experimental Theatre. Both he and Ed conducted art classes and operated a boutique at 317 Penn St. He and his longtime companion founded an acting company in Pittsburgh, operating the business there for more that 12 years before moving to Emlenton. They produced more than 100 productions in that 12-year period. Mr. Gress worked extensively with the Barrow-Civic Theater in Franklin, the Lucille Ball Theater in Jamestown, N.Y.. and the Road House Theater in Erie. Interment was made in Saltillo. Lloyd C. "Bill’ RENNINGER, 82, of 1571 Ferguson Valley Road, McVeytown, died Thursday, March 6, 2003, at his home. Born May 30, 1920, in McVeytown, he was a son of the late Howard and Nannie (Moist) Renninger. He was united in marriage to the former Irene Fetrow May 22, 1948, in the Christian and Missionary Alliance Parsonage, Mount Union. Mrs. Renninger survives. Four children survive; Linda Bunn, James Creek; Mrs. Randall (Margaret "Peg") Ripple, Lewistown; Donald Renninger and wife, Kathy, Blue Ridge Summit; and Robert Renninger and wife, Deborah, East Berlin. Also surviving are 12 grandchilddren, 16 great-grandchildren and four step grandchildren, One brother and one sister survive; James Renninger, Mount Union. and Pearl Booher, William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Brunner, and two brothers, Eugene Renninger and Merrill Renninger. Mr. Renninger was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Mount Union. Eden Hill, Tyrone, died at 3:37 am. Saturday, March 8, 2003. at Specialty Select Hospital, Johnstown, following an extended illness. Born Aug. 13, 1914, at his family home, he was a son of the late George and Hattie (Sunday) Bell. He was married to the former Lorraine Whittaker, who preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1988. He is survived by one brother, George Bell of Woodbury, N.J., and one sister, Laura Weamer of Altoona. He is also survived by one niece and several nephews and numerous grandnieces and grandnephews, as well as three men reared in the Bell home; Jack Itinger, Williamsburg; Clark Lebegott, Tannersville; and Glen Geisinger, Tyrone. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn and Clarence "Jack", and five sisters; Margaret, Edith, Nan, Mary and Ruth. Mr. Bell was a member and active in every aspect of the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, Spruce Creek, where he had served as a ruling elder for over 20 years. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He attended the Petersburg Vocational High School. A self-employed farmer, he operated the family farm which has been in the Bell family for 103 years. His main interest and hobby was to ride his six-wheeler, with his dogs, through his property. Albert RABENA, 86, of New Cumberland, died Saturday, March 8, 2003, in HealthSouth’s Renova Center for Special Services, Upper Allen Township. Born Jan. 26, 1917, in Middlesex Township, Fishing Creek Valley, Dauphin County, he was the son of the late Anthony and Bella (Valenza) Rabena. He was married to the former Florence Amelia Keefer, who preceded him in death. He is survived by one son, Ronald A. Rabena and wife, Valerie Robbins-Rice, of Mount Union; one daughter, Mrs. David (Jacqueline May) Ball of New Cumberland; two grandsons, David and Neill Ball; two step granddaughters, Kjell and Kristie Robbins-Rice; two nephews and one niece. Mr. Rabena was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, New Cumberland. He was a member of the Cumberland County Volunteer Firefighters Association; American Legion Post No. 143, New Cumberland; West Shore Lodge No. 681 F&AM, Camp Hill; Harrisburg Consistory; Zembo Shrine. Harrisburg; Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Harrisburg Forest No. 43; Cumberland County Shrine Club; and NARFE. A graduate of New Cumberland High School, he also graduated from Central Penn Business School and attended Purdue University, Indiana. During World War II, he served with the Army Engineers. A retired fire chief, he had a long and distinguished career in fire service, both as a career choice and as a volunteer. He was employed by the Federal Fire Service from 1940-1972, serving Indiantown Gap Military Reservation as a driver/operator, captain and fire chief, commanding three stations; Los Alamos Atomic Project, New Mexico, as assistant fire chief of two stations; Olmstead Air Force Base, Middletown, where he was fire chief of two stations; New Cumberland Army Depot. where he was fire chief and retired in 1972. He was an invaluable volunteer, life member and served as chief and director for the New Cumberland Fire Department for the last 62 years. He was a former president, vice-president and trustee of the Elkwood Fire Department and was appointed trustee when the Elkwood and Citizen’s Fire Departments merged to form the New CumberlandFire Department. He was a past president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and director for the Firemen’s Relief Association. He was an active member of the Cumberland County 100th Anniversary and Convention committee. He also worked with the Civil Defense as a bomb disposal agent and as a Cumberland County training officer. Funeral services will be held at 10 am. Born in Lewistown Dec. 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late John F. and Mary Frances (Weitzel) Lennartz. She was united in holy matrimony to John Robert Evans Jan. 17, 1944, in the rectory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Lewistown. Her beloved husband crossed over June 27, 1973. She had been employed by the U.S. Navy in a civilian position prior to her marriage. She retired in 1996 as site manager of the Senior Citizens Center, Mount Union. Mr. and Mrs. Evans reared their daughters secure in their parents love for each other and fur them. She taught her daughters to love and find comfort in the Catholic faith. She had an exceptional compassion for the less fortunate that was evidenced by the good works that she performed. Born Aug. 25, 1911. in Marklesburg, he was a son of the late Charles and Emma (Boller) Hetrick. He was united in marriage to the former Hazel Marie Lynn Oct. 5, 1937, in Huntingdon. He held various offices in Sunday School associations at county. district and state levels. In 1993, he received the Volunteer of the Year Award for his work at SCI-H and in 1999, received his 50-year pin from the State Sunday School Association for having been a Sunday School teacher for 50 years. He attended school in Huntingdon for 11 years, then attended Altoona High School, Altoona, from where he graduated in 1931. He worked for several years at Jones and Laughlin Steel Mill, Aliquippa. In 1973, he retired from the former CH. Miller Hardware Company, Huntingdon, following 27 years employment. An avid photographer, he enjoyed developing photos and operating a printing press. Sunday, March 9, 2003, in the emergency room of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Sept. 6,1914, in Mapleton, she was the daughter of the late Allison Earl and Georgianna (Dell) Wagner. She was united in marriage to Walter S. Heaster March 27, 1937, in Burnham. Mr. Heaster preceded her in death May 10, 1979. A beloved mother and grandmother, she is survived by a daughter, Marjorie Haugh and her husband, Granger of Fallbrook, Calif.; and three grandchildren; Scott Haugh, Seattle, Wash.; Lynne Haugh, Escondido, Calif.; and Christie Haugh, Temecula, Calif She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by a brother. Lysle K. Wagner, who had resided in Erie. Mrs. Heaster was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Union. A 1931 graduate of Mount Union High School, she was employed by the J,C. Blair Manufacturing Co. (now MeadWestvaco), Huntingdon. She also worked for 22 years for the Mount Union Area School District, as secretary for the Mount Union School Board, the supervising principal and the Mount Union School District. She was also secretary to the supervising principal at the Captain Jack High School. Interment will be made in the IOOF Cemetery, Mapleton. Alan D. BOLINGER Sr., 74, of HCR 1, Robertsdale, died at 8:30 am. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at his home. He had been in failing health for seven years. Born Nov. 8, 1928, in Wood, he was a son of the late Frank and Twilla Pearl (Evans) Bolinger. He was united in marriage to the former Lottie Virginia Cook Nov. 29, 1952. in Winchester, Va. Mrs. Bolinger survives at their home. Four children survive: Jackie D. McNerlin, Huber Heights, Ohio; Barbara A. Brechbiel, Shippensburg; Alan D. Bolinger Jr., Broad Top City; and George D. Bolinger, Brunswick, Ga. There are 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Gladys Black of Cooks, survives. He was preceded in death by four brothers; Albert Bolinger, Lloyd Bolinger, Glen Bolinger and Ronald Bolinger. Mrs. Bolinger was a member of Cooks United Methodist Church where he served for a number of years as a lay speaker. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Robertsdale Lions Club, Robertsdale Coal Miners Historical Society, the VFW and the American Legion. He served on the boards of directors for Broad Top Medical Center, Evans Cemetery and Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Korean Conflict. He retired Nov. 1, 1984, after 37 years service, from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, where he was a supervisor and parts expediter. He had also been a coal miner for a number of years. Harry Melvin BAITH, 86, died Monday, Jan. 27, 2003, at the North East Medical Center of Kannapolis, N.C. Born in Three Springs Feb. 11, 1916, he was a son of the late Benjamin F. and Clara (Long) Baith. He was married to the former Louise Kurtz Schmallbach in 1943. He is survived by two daughters, Patricia Keene of Concord, NC., and Linda Halverson of Mesa, Ariz. There are six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Three sisters survive; Gladys Baith and Frances ‘Nellie’ Schmallbach, both of Statesville, NC., and Mildred Baker of Hesston. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters; Connan, Warren, Samuel, Lucy, Pearl, Dollie and Mary. A 1929 graduate of Saltillo High School, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II. For a time he lived in Morristown, N.J., and Florida before moving to North Carolina. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved the Lord Jesus and is now home with the Lord. William J. CARTER, 76, of R.R. 3, Box 1592, Mount Union, died unexpectedly at 1:37 am. Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born Sept. 19, 1926, in Buffalo, N.Y., he was a son of the late George W. Sr. and Lottie (Berkstresser) Carter. Born July 8, 1914, in Hustontown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Ruth Wagner Helman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Hawkins, in 1966. They were married March 28, 1931. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Harrisonville. She is survived by four children, Ruth Knepper of Woodland Retirement Center, Clair Hawkins and Roy Hawkins, both of Harrisonville, Pa., and Harry Hawkins of Hustontown; two sisters, Helen Morningstar of Saltillo, Pa. and Betty Dick of Roaring Spring, Pa.; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Born June 12, 1913, in Amsbury, she was a daughter of the late George Sr. and Helen (Preplett) Husick. She was united in marriage to John Lopata May 30, 1928, in Amsbury. Mr. Lopata preceded her in death. She is survived by two sisters and one brother; Susie Surdis, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Helen Winters, Baltimore, Md.; and George Husick, Saxton. Numerous nieces and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by four brothers; Michael Husick, John Husick, Joseph Husick and Frank Husick. Born Nov. 22, 1917, in Coaldale, she was the daughter of thc late William and Elizabeth (Fox) Rohm. She was united in marriage to Preston Murray Postlethwaite Oct. 21, 1944, at First United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. Mr Postlethwaite preceded her in death March 31, 1978. She is survived by two daughters and one son; Mrs. Kenneth (Sarah P.) Jerina, Clayton, Mo.; Mrs. Jeffrey (Dorothy P.) Pitts, Wachapreague, Va.; and Preston M. Postlethwaite Jr. and daughter-in-law, Denise, Morristown. N.J. Five grandchildren survive; Michael and wife. Interment will he made in Riverview Cemetery, 245 Standing Stone Ave., Huntingdon. Warren R. "Bill" YOCUM, Esq., 80, of 234 Penn St., Huntingdon, died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born April 23, 1922, in Altoona, he was a son of the late Warren R. Yocum and Ida May (Lantz) Yocum Obermyer. He was united in marriage to the former M. Faye Welch June 22, 1945, at The Church of the Transfiguration (Little Church Around-the-Corner), New York, N.Y. Mrs. Yocum survives at their home, where they have resided since 1955. He is survived by one son and two daughters; Michael Scott Yocum, Plantation, Fla.; and Beth Ann Yocum and Susan Carol (Yocum) Pierotti, both of Huntingdon. Five grandchildren survive; Lindsey and Meredith Yocum and Sara, Matthew and Jason Pierotti. He is also survived by three brothers and one sister; Walter F. Yocum, Titusville, Fla.; Gerald Obermyer, Switzerland; Frances Obermyer, California: and Charles Obermyer, Texas. Mr. Yocum was a member of Huntingdon Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon , where he previously served as a deacon, trustee, president of the church corporation, elder and as a member of the session. Admitted to the Huntingdon County Bar Association in January 1952, he served as its president in 1960 and 1974. He had been a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association since 1952. He was a life member of Standing Stone Post No. 1754, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a member of the Frank P Hommon Post No. 24, American Legion, both of Huntingdon. He had formerly been a member of the Huntingdon Hook & Ladder Fire Co., the Huntingdon County Cancer Society, the Huntingdon County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the Huntingdon County Game, Fish and Forestry Association. He served as the chairman of the patrons ticket committee for the Huntingdon Bicentennial and was an active member of the Huntingdon County Democratic Party, previously serving as the party’s treasurer. He was also a life member of the Retired Officers Association. He attended the Mapleton public schools and graduated rom Mount Union High School with the Class of 1940. He attended Dickinson College, Carlisle, and graduated from the Dickinson School of Law, also in Carlisle, in 1951. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, in the American, European-African and Asiatic-Pacific Theatres of Operations. Enlisting in 1942, he was later commissioned a lieutenant junior grade as a naval aviator. He was the recipient of the Navy’s Air Medal and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Discharged from active duty in 1948 to the U.S. Naval Reserve, he subsequently retired with the rank of lieutenant commander. Mr. Yocum began his career in law by serving his clerkship under his preceptor, attorney Robert H. Henderson. On April 1, 1960, he formed the law partnership of Simpson and Yocum with attorney Robert B. Simpson. He was elected to serve as the Huntingdon County District Attorney in 1960 and 1964 and was appointed to serve as the Huntingdon Borough solicitor, the solicitor to the Huntingdon Area School District, the Huntingdon County Area Vocational-Technical School and various Huntingdon County townships. Following the dissolution of Simpson and Yocum, he continued the practice of law from his offices on William Smith Street, Huntingdon. In addition to, and in conjunction with the practice of law from his office on William Smith Street, he was the broker for, and jointly owned, with Mrs. Yocum, Colonial Real Estate Agency, founded in 1964. Mr. Yocum loved his wife, children and grandchildren and enjoyed reading. working with his computer and feeding the birds. Thursday, March 13, 2003. at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 2, 1922, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Charles E. Hoffman Sr. and Hazel (Baker) Hoffman Endres. He was married to the former Verna Catherine Lover Feb. 16, 1946. Mrs. Hoffman survives at their home. Three daughters survive; Mrs. Gregory M. He was a member of Frank P. Hommon Post No. 24, American Legion. Huntingdon. A member of the Class of 1940, he was a graduate of Huntingdon High School. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1946, attaining the rank of staff sergeant and serving with the 369 Ordnance Maintenance Company. Employed by SCI-Huntingdon as power plant supervisor, he retired in 1984 after 27 years service. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening, fishing and hiking. MILLER, 80, Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, died Monday, March 10, 2003. at the home following an extended illness. Born Oct. 22, 1922. in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Canton A. and Mary Louise Miller. He married the former Doris M. Rogers, Oct. 7, 1947, in Huntingdon. Mrs. Miller preceded him in death May 28, 2001. He is survived by one son, Rick Miller and wife, Pam, of Duncansville; three daughters; Mary L. Miller, Duncansville; Mrs. John (Trudy) Colyer, Altoona; and Mrs. Carlton (Ceri) Curtis, Williamsport; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was of the Methodist faith. He retired from the maintenance department of Stroehmans Bakery. A graduate of Huntingdon High School, he was an Army and Air Force veteran of World War II. A devoted father, husband and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports and cooking shows. (Sellers) MILLER, 76, of Village Way, Phoenixville, died Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville. She had lived in Phoenixville for the past three years. Born Sept. 5, 1926, in Orbisonia, she was a daughter of the late Newville N. and Olive (Black) Sellers. She was married to James Robert Miller who survives in Phoenixville. Two brothers and two sisters survive; Melvin L. Sellers, New Freedom; LaRue S. Dell. Kimberton; Major Norman G. Sellers and wife, Shirley, Baton Rouge, La.; and Vera O. Himes, Orhisonia. Several nieces., nephews, grand-nieces and grandnephews survive. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Centennial Evangelical Lutheran Church, Kimberton. She was active in the SPCA in New Carrollton, Md. KIFER, 85, of Blanton Gardens Retirement area, near Dallas, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2003, in Dallas. He was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Mae Kifer, whom he married in November 1943 in Harlingen, Texas. They met in Wichita Falls in 1941 while Mr. Kifer was stationed there. He is also survived by three sons; Ron Kifer, Greg Kifer, Mark Kifer; daughters-in-law Sharron Kifer, Debbie Kifer and Karen Kifer; grandchildren Jennifer Kifer, Jessika Kifer, Koyt Kifer, Kullen Kifer, Kimberly Fretz, Eric Fretz, Katie Kifer and Jason Kifer. One sister, Grace Capwell of Saxton survives. He left Pennsylvania via train at the age of 17 and traveled to Kansas, where he worked on a farm. Upon returning to Pennsylvania, he worked in a steel mill in Pittsburgh and attended a university. He joined the U.S. Air Force in October 1941 and served in the European Theatre of Operations throughout France, Germany and the European countries, returning to the United States in 1945. Following his discharge from the Air Force, he worked for a short time on the Wichita Falls Police Force. He received his bachelor of arts degree from Texas Wesleyan College (now University) and a master of theology from Perkins School of Theology at SMU. He earned a doctorate from Daniel Baker University and an honorary doctor from Howard Payne College. He did graduate work at the University of Edinburgh. Scotland. He began his ministry on the 5-Point Circuit in the Wichita Falls District and retired from the ministry as the district superintendent in 1983. He served several churches in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church in Chico, Roanoke, Denton, Wylie, Mesquite, Greenville and Dallas. He enjoyed painting and doing wood crafts. Division St., Mount Union, and most recently a resident of Huntingdon Manor, Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon, died at 5:15 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born April 5, 1924, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Grace (Traphili) Pagana. She was united in marriage to John J. Magliere Jan. 5,1947, at St. Catherine’s Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union. Mr. Magliere preceded her in death May 11, 1984. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Louise Hileman and her husband, David, of Mount Union. She is also survived by three grandchildren; Tina Welch, John McKim and Aaron Atherton; six great-grandchildren and one brother, Joe Giacobello of Mount Union. Born Aug. 25, 1929, in East Windsor, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Henry L. and Della (Lucier) Perron. She was twice married; first to Russell A. Miller, May 13, 1939; then to Robert H. Sneath Jan. 18, 1975. Mr. Miller preceded her in death April 4, 1967; Mr. Sneath preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1988. She is survived by one brother and two sisters; Robert H. Perron and his wife, Joyce, of Troy, Mich.; and Margaret D. LaFountain and Dorothy R. Perron, both of Canton, Mich. He was born Jan. 21, 1928, in Mount Union. He was united in marriage to Lola Querry Kyler of Mapteton March 11, 1947. Mrs. Lankard survives at home. He is also survived by one son, Stephen Mark Lankard of Ranier, Ore.; two granddaughters, Lola Marie Lankard of Portland, Ore, and Stephenie Marie Lankard of Longview, Wash.; and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Lankard was of the Presbyterian faith. He attended the Mount Union schools and graduated with honors in 1946. He spent 18 months with the 1st Cavalry, serving in Tokyo, Japan. John Henry MONTZ, 80, of R.R. 1, Box 259, Huntingdon, died at 3:35 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2003, at his Porter Township home. Born Dec. 21, 1922, at the family farm near the Raystown Dam, he was a son of the late Wilbert G. and Blodwin (Phillips) Montz. He was united in marriage to the former Virginia Margaret Schirm June 24, 1943, at the Alexandria Methodist Church, with the Rev. Clifford Williams officiating. Mrs. Montz survives at their home. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Donna S. Montz of Mill Creek; and two brothers and one sister; infant brother William Montz; Clair Montz, McConnellstown and Helen Koontz, Huntingdon. He was preceded in death by a son, Terry G. Montz, Sept. 21, 2002; two sisters, Ruby Frommell and Dorothy Bradley; and one brother, Warren Montz. Mr. Montz was an active and dedicated member of the Alexandria United Methodist Church. He was a true disciple for Christ even during his illness. He participated in the Sunday School and had also served as a trustee and was chairman of the administrative council. He was an honorary member of Future Farmers of America (FFA). A graduate of Alexandria High School, he was a member of the Class of 1942. He was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had lived at his Porter Township residence for the past 55 years. For a number of years, he worked on the family farm and on the Mabel Moore- Black Angus Farm. Later, he worked at Edgewater Acres, Alexandria. R.R.. and as a truck driver for the former Alexandria Clay Mill. He retired in 1985, after 25 years of service, from Juniata Valley School District where he had served as a bus driver and custodian. She had been in failing health for the past two and one-half years. Born in Bay Village, Ohio, March 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Edward K. and Elaine (Owens) Gribben. She was united in marriage to C. Blair Miller Sept. 2, 1947, in Bellevue, by the Rev. James Barnett. Mr. Miller survives in Huntingdon. She is survived by one son and two daughters; Thomas B. Miller, Huntingdon; Susan M. Toppin, Delran, N.J.; and Patricia M. Lyons, Mashpee, Mass. There are six grandchildren. Two half sisters survive; Peggy Holdcroft and Jenne Sue Dan, both of the Pittsburgh area. She was preceded in death by one half brother, Edward K. Born Sept. 4, 1931, in Tyrone, she was a daughter of the late George and Carmela (Scroco) Iavasile. She married Frank Lalli April 14, 1951, in Tyrone. Mr. Lalli survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ben (Deborah K.) Friday; two sons, Terry Lee Lalli and his wife, Sharon of Tyrone, and Jay A. Lalli and his wife, Annette of Palmyra. There are six grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. One sister, Josephine Hillard, survives in Tyrone. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. SCHOCK, M.D., 79, of R.R. 2, Box 69, Huntingdon, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born Aug. 15, 1923, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Clarence and Mabel (Decker) Schock. He was united in marriage to the former Doris Wilson, formerly of Southmont, July 1, 1944, at the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon, by the Rev. Peters. Mrs. Schock survives at their Miller Township residence. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William W. Schock Jr.. PhD and Beverly (Conner) Schock of Houston, Texas. Three grandchildren survive; Mrs. Scott (Kristine) Sherrill, Mrs. Todd (Jennifer) Resnik and Senior Airman William W. Schock III. Two brothers preceded him in death; J.C. Schock, Esquire and Robert C. Schock. Dr. Schock was a member of Huntingdon Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon. He was a member of the American Medical Association; the American Academy of Pediatrics; the Pennsylvania Medical Society; the Huntingdon County Medical Society (past president); the American Association of Military Surgeons; the staff of J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon: the American Cancer Society (past president 1955-1957); the hoard of directors of the American Heart Association (1955-1962) and was listed in Whos Who in America. He was also a longtime member of the National Rifle Association. He attended the William Smith School. A graduate of Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army’s V-12 (delayed service) program. He enrolled in the premed program at Juniata College and continued his education at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. Upon graduation from Temple in 1947, Dr. Schock completed both his junior and senior internships at Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital, Johnstown. In 1948. he opened his practice of pediatric medicine in Huntingdon, but was recalled to service during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and was stationed at Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne, Wyo., until 1952, where he served as the chief of outpatient services and pediatrics. Following his discharge from active duty. Dr. Schock remained in the USAF Reserve until his retirement as captain in 1968. In 1952. he returned to Huntingdon to resume his medical practice from which he retired in 1981. A well-known pediatrician and lifelong resident, he cared for the children of several generations of local families. He had exceptional diagnostic skills and a caring nature for his young patients. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, his dogs, collecting native American artifacts and gardening. Mary Lou MCCOY, 57, of HCR 71, Orbisonia, died at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia. Born Oct. 20, 1945, in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Daniel B. and Grace E. (Parker) Coldsmith. She was united in marriage to Harold D. "Stump" McCoy July 10, 1965, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. McCoy survives at their home. She is also survived by one daughter, Lori Stevens of Huntingdon; one grandson, Brandon Stevens, also of Huntingdon; and one sister, Betty Pingley of Martinsburg, W.Va. Raymond Eugene SHAFFER, 77, of Blairs Mills, R.R. 1, died at 5:35 am. Friday, March 21, 2003, at his home in Dublin Township. Born March 16, 1926 in Ligonier, he was the son of the late Norman and Reba (Roadman) Shaffer. He was married to Rosella M. Tirdeli Nov. 25, 1948. Mrs. Shaffer survives at home. Mr. Shaffer is survived by two daughters, Helen Lorraine Leasure of Blairs Mills and Cynthia R. Meritt, Baltimore, Md. Three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. One brother and three sisters also survive Mr. Shaffer. They are; William E. Shaffer of Ligonier; Louise Miller of Hanover; Wilma Mostellar of Allenwood; and Carla Sonson of Zephyrhills, Fla. Mr. Shaffer was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Shaffer was a member of the Shade Gap Lions Club. He worked as a freight conductor for Conrail for 31 years in Baltimore, Md. Geraldine Naomi HORNE, 81, of North Clear Ridge Road, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, in Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg. Born Jan. 7, 1922, in Mount Union, she was a daughter of the late Orris and Ruth Cramer Brown. She was a member of Walnut Grove Church of God, Three Springs, and its Gleaner's Class. Earlier in life, she taught the Children's Sunday School Class and was secretary-treasurer of the Missionary Society. For nearly 20 years, she worked at Sagner Inc., McConnellsburg. Mrs. Horne was a member of the auxiliary of Fulton County Camp, Gideons International. Surviving are her husband, Miles W. She was married to Merrill Bergstresser March 25, 1940. Mr. Bergstresser preceded her in death July 4, 1978. She is survived by one daughter, Nora Schaffer of Harrisburg; two grandchildren: Robin Schaffer of New Orleans, La.. and Mark Schaffer of Harrisburg. A graduate of Hustontown High School. she retired as a houseparent at Milton Hershey School following 16 years service. She was an avid gardener. Born Sept. 1, 1913, in Oneida Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late James and Ella (Lightner) Hawn. His first wife, the former Elizabeth Stiver, preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to the former Mildred (Barnes) Rhodes Aug. 16, 1955, in Pleasant Gap Methodist Church by the Rev. Walter F. Glenn. Mrs. Hawn survives at their home. He is survived by two stepchildren; Dorothy M. Stever, Saxton, R.R. 1, and Robert James Rhodes, Huntingdon, R.R. 4. There are eight step-grandchildren and nine step-great-grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan and had played for Huntingdon Little League, Teener League and City League Baseball. Born Feb. 1, 1935 in Todd Township, James Creek, she was a daughter of the late Cloyd Howard and Carrie B. (Norris) Rhodes. She was united in marriage to Walter H. Ickes in Winchester. Va. Mr. Ickes survives at their South Newton Township residence. She is survived by four daughters and one son; Sharon Woodal, Saxton; Anthony Woodal, San Antonio, Texas; Kandis Misner, Nanty Glo; Michele Wright, Shippensburg; and Kristin Cardene, Camp Hill. Coons Fry of Chambersburg, where she had been residing. Born May 5, 1906, in Three Springs, she was a daughter of the late Clay and Alice (Hudson) Park. She was married to Donald Bard who preceded her in death in 1965. She is survived by one son and two daughters: Charles D. "Bardy" Bard, Waterfall; Alice R. Coons Fry, Chambersburg; and Anna Weaver, Biglerville. There are 19 grandchildren, and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister and one brother: Lillian Baker of Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, and Max Park, Three Springs. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Bard was a member of First Baptist Church of Three Springs. She retired in 1971 from the Masonic Homes, Elizabethtown, where she had been a LPN. Robert Spyker GRAFFIUS, 85, passed away Monday, March 24, 2003, at Somerset Alzheimers Community, Everett, Wash. Born June 10, 1917, in Petersburg, he was a son of the late Gustave and Mae Graffius. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn; four children, Penny King and her husband, Ralph, Tacoma, Wash.; Robert Graffius Jr and his wife, Jean, San Jose, Calif.; Gerald Graffius and John Graffius, both of Marysville, Wash. There are eight grandchildren residing in Washington state and numerous nieces and nephews in Pennsylvania. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. He was a member of the Nile Temple, Scottish Rite Bodies and Masonic Lodge of the F&AM. A graduate of Petersburg Vocational High School, he joined the Army Air Corps in 1937, in which he served for 22 years. He served during World War II as a radio man in B-17’s in the 82nd Fighter Group and 99th Bomb Group where he flew 50 bombing missions out of Africa and Italy. He was a master sergeant when he was honorably discharged at Paine Field, Wash., in 1960. He then worked as an installer for General Telephone for nearly 20 years. An active fisherman, for years. he operated his boat out of McConnell’s Boat House in Mukilteo Bay on Puget Sound, and went by the handle "Green Jeep." He was an avid deer and elk hunter and woodsman. Funeral services were held March 26 in Everett. Inurnment was made at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park, Everett. J. Albert ROHRER, 81, of 25 Reynolds Ave., Mont Alto, died at 12:07 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003, in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital, Waynesboro. His death was unexpected. Born July 27, 1921, in Shirleysburg, he was a son of the late John G. and Mary Taylor Rohrer and lived his early life in Shirleysburg. He was married to the former Betty M. Robertson Oct. 28, 1943, in Mont Alto. Mrs. Rohrer survives at their residence., where they have resided since 1961. He is survived by three daughters: Kay Mitchell, Rita Smith and Karen Smith, all the Mont Alto. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers survive: Wayne T. Rohrer, Shirleysburg; Dale E. Rohrer, Mount Union; and Paul E. Rohrer, Mont Alto. A number of nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Rohrer was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, where he served as a trustee for six years and was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class. He was a 1939 graduate of Mount Union High School. In his early life, he was employed as a farmer for Goodacres in the Quincy area. He then worked for Hess Manufacturing, Quincy, for five years. For 20 years, he was employed by Kottcamp Plumbing and Heating, Chambersburg. In 1985, he retired from local 520 Plumber's and Pipefitter's Union, Harrisburg, after 20 years of service. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling, which included spending winters in Arizona and Florida following his retirement. ALLISON, 86, of 35 Huey St., Allensville, died at 12:28 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at Beverly Health Care, William Penn, Lewistown. Born March 18, 1917, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Harry C. and Katherine J. (Ehrenfeld) Aurandt. She was united in marriage to J. Samuel Allison March 20, 1943. Mr. Allison survives. She is also survived by two sons: Richard S. Allison, Zebulon, N.C., and David H. Allison, Oakville, Ontario, Canada. There are three grandsons. One brother, Alva S. Aurandt of Sun City, Ariz. survives. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Aurandt, in 1980. Mrs. Allison was a member of Allensville Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of the Mifflin County Association School Retirees, NEA, PSEA and a former member of the Mifflin County Library Board, Kishacoquillas Valley Historical Society and the Belleville Civic Club. She retired from the Mifflin County School District in 1975 after having taught Latin, English and mathematics. She had served as the Menno Twp. auditor. Esther Mae MELLOTT, 74, a resident of the long-term care unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, formerly of Hustontown, died at 12:58 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at the medical center. Born Sept. 6, 1928, in Robertsdale, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Mollie (McKnight) Rohrer. She was married to Lee Mellott Sept. 28, 1948. Mr. Mellott preceded her in death March 18, 1988. She is survived by two daughters: Linda Deshong and Susan Hoover, both of Harrisonville; four grandchildren: Dawn Baughman, Hustontown; Tracy Black, McConnellsburg; and Dawson Truax and Briahnna Leigh Hoover, both of Harrisonville; one step-granddaughter, Autumn Deshong, Harrisonville; and three great-grandchildren: Tanner Lee Baughman, Shandi Black and William Jacob Black. Charles Hicks officiating. Interment will be made in Union Cemetery, McConnellsburg. Richard A. YOCUM, 67, of Box 34 Grant Street, Mapleton, died at 7:37 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at his home. He had been in failing health. Born April 18, 1935, in Haws, Mifflin County, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Julia I. (Woods) Yocum. He married the former Shirley L. Corbin Dec. 4, 1956, in Mapleton. Mrs. Yocum survives at their home. He is survived by one son and two daughters: Richard K. Yocum, State College; and Karen L. Yocum and Julia A. Yocum, both at home. One sister and one brother survive: Maxine Barret, Mount Union; and Ronald L. Yocum, Mapleton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Yocum. Mr. Yocum was a member of the United Methodist Church. Following graduation from Mount Union Hugh School in 1953, he began employment with the Susquehanna Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad as a steam locomotive fireman. He entered the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and served with the HQ 479th and 436th Fighter Day Squadrons as a jet fighter mechanic until he was honorably discharged as Airman 1st Class in 1956. Mr. Yocum retied on disability in 1978, after many years with the Robin Footwear plant in Mount Union. He was a avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed working on antique automobiles. Eva MCKETA, 90, of Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, formerly of Cassville, passed away at 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003, at Westminster Woods. Born in Dudley on Tuesday, April 16, 1912, she was a daughter of the late Stephen and Verona (Thronskie) Worhach. She was married to John McKeta who preceded her in death. Two sons survive: Donald McKeta, Seattle, Wash.; and Michael McKeta, Hellertown. There are seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One sister, Anna Yankanish of Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, survives. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard McKeta. Mrs. McKeta was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, Wood. She had worked as a factory worker at Cove Shoe Co., Martinsburg, and had also worked at the former Wood Shoe Factory, Wood, and the former Huntingdon Sportsware, Huntingdon. Interment will be made in St. Michael's Orthodox Cemetery, Wood. Walter G. FICK SR., 73, of 1677 Old Kiln Road, Chambersburg, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at his home. Born Feb. 20, 1930 in Robertsdale, he was a son of the late William H. and Gertrude (Bollinger) Fick. He was married to the former Margaret H. Lamperski who survives. He is survived by three sons: Walter G. Fick Jr., Hanover; Kevin L. Fick, East Berlin; and Gary S. Fick, New Oxford; one daughter, Denise Weigle, York Springs; two stepsons: Carl R. Hughes, Sherwood, Wis.; and Delbert E. Hughes Jr., New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; and one stepdaughter, Margaret Bratek, Rapid City, S.D. There are 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Born June 18, 1916, in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Blair B. and Minnie (Wench) Coffman. She was united in marriage to James C. Bollinger May 4, 1934, in Hollidaysburg. Mr. Bollinger preceded her in death May 9, 1983. She is survived by one son, James B. Bollinger, North Tonawanda, N.Y.; one son-in-law, William Moore, Sacramento, Calif.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Jane has left her Down Syndrome and Alzheimer's disease and is now perfect in the presence of the Lord. Born Nov. 13, 1943, in Loysville, Perry County, she was a daughter of the late Harry R. and Florence L. (Whittaker) Thomas. She is survived by one sister and one brother: Joan Thomas of Shirleysburg, and John R. "Jack" Thomas of Martinsburg. There are also three nieces, one nephew and seven grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, A.W. Thomas and Robert W. Thomas. (Sipes) PRICE, 68, a resident of the Rheems Nursing Center, Elizabethtown, for the past seven years, formerly of the Elizabethtown and Mount Union area, died at 4:50 a.m. Friday, March, 28, 2003, at Lancaster General Hospital. She was born July 28, 1934, in Lucy Furnace, Mifflin County, the daughter of the late Fred A. and Stella Lucille "Billie" (Arnold) Sipes. She was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Price April 18, 1953, in Hagerstown, Md. She was preceded in death by her husband April 1, 1991. Mrs. Price is survive by two sons, Keenan D. Price, Elizabethtown, and Kevin D. Price, Hummelstown; and five grandchildren: Derek Price, Brandon Price, Kevin Price, Dean Dieffenderfer and Ryan Dieffenderfer. Two sisters, Ramona Price and Dorothy Walters, both of Mount Union, and one brother, Kenny Sipes Sr., Shirleysburg, survive. Blase CINDRIC, 83, of Somerset, passed on Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Siemons Lakeview Manor Estate, Somerset. Born Nov. 8, 1919, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Blaz and Anna (Milcic) Cindric. His wife of 56 years, Phyllis (Cunningham) Cindric, formerly of Mount Union, survives. He is also survived by one son, Blase B. Cindric and his wife, Mary Patricia (Madigan) and grandsons, Blase Anthony and Brandon Thomas Cindric, all of Girard, Ohio. He was preceded in death by five sisters; Elvera Cigich, Stephana Fishter, Anna Halapia, Louise Basista and an infant. Mr. Cindric was a member of St. Peter’s Church, Somerset. He was a member of the NEA, PSEA and PSAR. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and graduated from Shippensburg University in 1945. He also pursued graduate studies at the University of Pittsburgh. A teacher in the Somerset Area School District, he had 39 years experience and served as the business education department coordinator for many years. He was the first wrestling coach at Somerset High School. Particularly fond of bowling and golf, he enjoyed all sports. A funeral Mass was held April 2 at St. Peter’s Church, Somerset, with the Rev. Monsignor Samuel Tomaselli as celebrant. Committal was made in Somerset County Memorial Park. Norma G. KENDALL, 67, of 100 E. Walnut St., McConnellsburg, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born July 20, 1935, in Robertsdale, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Hilda (Johnson) Watkins. She was married to John "Jack" Kendall who preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons and one daughter: John M. Kendall II, and his wife, Dolly, Daniel R. Kendall and Mrs. Bob (Teressa) Carter, all of McConnellsburg. March 30, 2003, at his residence. Death was unexpected. Born in Huntingdon Aug. 31, 1983, he was the son of the Steve and Theresa (Gutheridge) Carberry. Mrs. Carberry survives in Saxton. His father is deceased. One sister, Crystal Carberry of Saxton survives. He is also survived by a grandmother, Esther Keith of Saxton. A 2000 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, he enjoyed bowling and basketball. He worked as a laborer at K.W. Reese. He had previously worked at the Saxton Foodliner for several years. Interment will be made in Dudley Protestant Cemetery. Edmund L. EVERHART, 75, of 3307 Cold Springs Road, Huntingdon, died Sunday, March 30, 2003, at Mount Sinai Hospital, Miami Beach, Fla. Born April 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Edmund S. and Carrie (Temple) Eberhart. He was united in marriage to Norma Eberhart Sept. 11, 1975. He is survived by his wife at home; two daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Jean) L'Altrelli and Mrs. James (Joyce) Lytle; one granddaughter, Amy L'Altrelli; and three grandsons, Alfred L;Altrelli, Matthew Lytle and Geoffrey Lytle. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Mahlon Eberhart. Mr. Eberhart was a member of the 15th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. He was a member of the Standing Stone Senior citizens and the Frank P. Hommon American Legion Post No. 24, Huntingdon, and a life member of Standing Stone VFW Post No. 1754, Huntingdon. He graduated in 1945 from Huntingdon High School. He served with the U.S. Navy and the Seabees in both Europe and the South Pacific Theatre, from March 14, 1945 until July 29, 1946, earning the American Theatre Ribbon, Pacific Theatre Ribbon and Victory Medal. He served again, from May 7, 1951, until Aug. 25, 1952. Mr. Eberhart had been employed by the J.C. Blair Company for a number of years. Later, he worked for U.S. Postal Service until his retirement. After his retirement he enjoyed woodworking and attending arts festivals. Full Military honors will be accorded following the memorial service at the funeral home. Verna E. BOOHER, 76, of Orbisonia, went to be with the Lord at 1:35 am. Monday, March 31, 2003, at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, following an extended illness. Born Aug. 13, 1926, in Wayne Township, Mifflin County, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Mabel (Worthy) Sample. She was married to Melvin S. Booher Aug. 31, 1944, at Orbisonia. Mr. Booher preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1997. Three sons survive; William S. Booher and Donald E. Booher, both of Orbisonia, and Duane F. Booher, Mount Union. There are nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence Sample and Harvey Sample; and two sisters, Catherine Smith and Florence Pratt. Mrs. Booher was a charter member of Harvest Ministries of the Church of God of Prophecy, Shirleysburg, R.R. She was a homemaker. Interment will be made in Jordan Cemetery, Orbisonia, R.R. Opal (Duffey) VAUGHN, 79, of 29 W. Maxwell St., Mount Union, died at 3:45 p.m. Monday March 31, 2003, at Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, after years of failing health. She had been a resident at the center for three and one-half years. Born March 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Susie (Hamilton) Duffey. She was thrice married. Her first two husbands, William Houck of McVeytown and R.W. Naugle of Mount Union, preceded her in death, She then married Fay M. Vaughn Jan. 25, 1975. He survives at their home. Two daughters survive; Helen L. Houck-Ray of Ogden, Utah. And Barbara J (Naugle) Pennock of Marshal, Mo. There are six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One brother and four sisters survive; Raymond Duffey, Pogue; Viola Clugston, York; Mrs. Andy (Betty) Painter, Cassville: and Mary Sheeler and Lillian Horne, both of Port Royal. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, William R. Houck, and a half sister, Lecada Shields. Mrs. Vaughn was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union. For many years, she was employed at Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon. In 1965 she opened Opal’s Styling Coiffure, Mount Union, which she operated until her retirement in 1989. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. KENT, 62, a resident of Huntingdon Manor, Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon, since November 2002, formerly of Mapleton, died at 12:06 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003. at JC. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born Feb. 2, 1941, in Springfield Township, HuntingdonCounty, she was a daughter of Elwood R. and Edith K. (Smith) Banks. Her mother survives in Mill Creek. Her father is deceased. She married William S. Deter in 1959. He preceded her in death in 1965. She then married Patrick Kent in 1988. He preceded her in death in 1991. Two sons and one daughter survive; Dennis W. Deter, State College; Kenneth L. Deter, Mapleton; and Kathy G. Smith, Memphis, Tenn. Three grandchildren survive; Jonathan Smith, Justin Hensley and Nicole Lee. She is also survived by two sisters and three brothers; Esther M. Ashley, Hixsley, Tenn.; Dorothy K. Corcelius, Huntingdon. R.R. 2; and Elwood E. Banks, Willis C. Banks and William B. Banks, all of Mill Creek. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Nelson R. Banks and Roger L. Banks. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1959. She loved to travel and lived for a time in New York, North Carolina, Florida and Virginia, where she held jobs as a waitress and greenhouse attendant. Her hobbies included doing crafts and working with plants. She enjoyed using her computer and she loved cats and dogs. There will be a private funeral service, held at the convenience of the family, Thursday, April 3, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home. Mount Union, with the Rev. Donald Pangburn officiating. Interment will he made in Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek. Lula M. McFALLS, 101, formerly of Huntingdon, R.R. 2, died at 5:24 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2003, at Huntingdon Manor, Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 29, 1901, in Henderson Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Jane (O’Shall) McFalls. She is survived by two sons and three daughters; Charles H. Knode, Alexandria, R.R. 1; Richard F. Knode and Viola M. Fultz, both of Huntingdon, R.R. 2; Helen M. Getz, Petersburg; and Mary E. Bowser, HCR 61, Mill Creek. There are 22 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four sons, one daughter, three grandchildren and one great-grandson. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters. Ms. McFalls was of the Methodist faith. She had been employed in the food services department at Juniata College before retiring in 1969. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family with the Rev. David L.
