Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Jan. 27, 1920, in Dalton, S.D., she was the daughter of the late John B. and Esther (Garner) Shoemaker. She was united in marriage to Paul C. Savitts May 10, 1938, in Cumberland, Md. Mr. Savitts preceded her in death Nov. 22, 1999. she is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Willaim (Jean S.) Dunn of Saxton, and Shirley Irene Moussianux of Frederick, Md.; one son, James P. "Butch" Savitts of Richmond, Va.; nine grandchildren: Paul V. Savitts; Jonell, John and Kristi Moussiaux; Eric and Sharon Savitts; Daniel and Brenda Winter; and Karen Doyon; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister survive; James Shoemaker of Huntingdon, and Harry Shoemaker and Nelda Opfer, both of Elizabeth Twp. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick H. Savitts; a granddaughter, Laura Savitts; a grandson, David Winters; and two brothers, William "Pinky" Shoemaker and John Shoemaker. Mrs. Savitts was of the Methodist faith. At one time she had been employed by Petersburg Transformer. She was known for her quilt making and flower gardening and enjoyed traveling, music and photography. Mr. Savitts was loved by her family and neighbors and friends. She was a true and gentle friend to all, from Canada to Louisiana. Funeral services will be held March 4, at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon, with the Rev. James E. Stork officiating. Interment will be made in Donation Cemetery, Huntingdon. Dean M. MCKNIGHT, 75, of Six Mile Run, died March 2, 2004, at his residence. Born Dec. 28, 1928, in Wood, he was the son of the late William and Agnes (Mitchell) McKnight. He was united in marriage to Janet Neville Oct. 1, 1948, in Cumberland, Md. He is survived by his wife; a son, William McKnight, and his wife, Deborah, of James Creek; two daughters, Darlene Barber, and her husband, Terry, and Lana Thompson, all of Six Mile Run; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and three step-grandchildren. A sister, Jane Burkett, and her husband, Clyde, of Schellsburg, survive, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one grandson. Mrs. McKnight was a member of and enjoyed attending Finleyville Union Church, Six Mile Run. He was a charter member and helped established the Six Mile Run Volunteer Fire Co., where he served as first fire chief and held that position for 13 years. He also served as an EMT in the ambulance division and taught first aid classes. He was a technician with Zimmerman Electronics and retired in 1982 due to poor health. He had previously worked as a coal miner and a construction worker. Funeral services will be held March 5, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, with Pastors Jesse Musser and John Miller officiating. Interment will be made in Duvall cemetery, Six Mile Run. Shirley (Helsel) LYNN, 68, of Six Mile Run, died March 4, 2004, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born Nov. 18, 1935, in Aitch, she was the daughter of the late George B. and Flora Bell (Hoover) Helsel. She was twice married, first to Lester "Johnny" Whitfield; then, to James H. Lynn April 26, 1980. She is survived by her husband; one son, John "Pete" Whitfield of Hopewell; two daughters, Patty (Whitfield) Thomas, and her husband, Lonnie, of St. Thomas and JoDee (Whitfield) Fisher of Huntingdon; four stepsons: Kenneth Lynn of Hagerstown, M.D.; Patrick Lynn of Wood; and Christopher Van Orman and Jack Van Orman, both of Niles, Ohio. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Whitfield; two sisters, Doris "Becky" Salkeld and Dorothy "Susie" Welser; and three brothers, Harry, Albert and Jimmy Helsel. Mrs. Lynn was a member of Stonerstown Church of Brethren, Saxton. She was a member of the Hopewell Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary. She attended Saxton-Liberty High School and was primarily a homemaker. Funeral services will be held March 7, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, with Pastor Deborah Hoover officiating. Interment will be made in Russellville Methodist Cemetery, James Creek. Wallace Hohman GILBAUGH, 80, of Warner Robins, Ga., died March 5, 2004, in Warner Robing, Ga. Born May 27, 1923, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Wallace Conway Gilbaugh and the late Helen Barbara (Hohman) Gilbaugh. He was united in marriage to Linda Lee Price June 20, 1959, in the Huntingdon Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Raymond Powell. Mrs.Gilbaugh preceded him in death June 19, 1994. He is survived by one half-brother and one half-sister, Robert C. Gilbaugh of Lock Haven and Helen Louise McAdams of New Holland. Mr. Gilbaugh was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warner Robins, Ga., where he was an ordained deacon and elder. He was a member of the Frank P. Hommon Post No. 24 American Legion and the Standing Stone Post No. 1754 VFW, both of Huntingdon. He was also a life member of the 8th Air Force Society. Mr. Gilbaugh attended William Smith School and graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1941. He was a graduate of the Aircraft Mechanics Course in Los Angeles, Calif. He was employed by the United States Air Force as a civil servant and retired from his employment at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Ga. He served with the United States Air Force during World War II, attaining the rank of staff sergeant while serving in the European Theatre. A memorial service was held Oct. 14, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with Richard L. Gilbaugh officiating. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Betty F. Nearhoof, 83, of Ridge Road, Warriors Mark, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at Altoona Hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1920, in Birmingham, a daughter of the late David and Mary (Reeder) Wesley. On May 16, 1940, she was married to Robert B. Nearhoof at her family home. She is survived by her husband; two sons and one daughter: Elmer Nearhoof and wife, Lynne; Robert Nearhoof II and wife, Becky; and Sue Ronan and her husband, Michael, all of Warriors Mark; six grandchildren: Sharon May, Amy Nearhoof, Becky Lawson, Andrea Ronan and Kenneth and Katie Nearhoof; and a sister, Helen Cupp, a guest of Epworth Manor, Tyrone. Mrs. Nearhoof was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She belonged to the United Methodist Women and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Warriors Mark Fire Co. She was a graduate of the Warriors Mark High School Class of 1938. She had been employed at Puritan Co. and Big Yank and, with her husband, owned and operated a dairy farm. She enjoyed her grandchildren, knitting, sewing and playing the organ. Funeral services for Mrs. Nearhoof will be held March 8, at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home, Tyrone, with the Rev. Charles A. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will be at Burket Cemetery, Warriors Mark. Anna H. BURZYCK, 90, formerly of Pittsburgh, died March 5, 2004, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, where she had resided since 1997. Born Jan. 1, 1914, in Broughton, she was the daughter of the late Valenti and Franciska (Podbelska) Czarniewski. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Burzyck Aug. 17, 1946. Mr. Burzyck preceded her in death Aug. 17, 1979. She is survived by two daughters, Andrea Price, and her husband, George, of Murrysville, and Carole Hileman, and her husband, Robert Jr., of Huntingdon; five grandchildren: Steven and Michael Price of Murrysville; Robert Hileman III of Ithaca N.Y.; Paul Hileman, and his wife, Jodi, of Alexandria; and Jacquelyn Hileman of Gettysburg.; and one great-grandson, Garrett Hileman of Alexandria. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Mrs. Burzyck was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Burzyck was a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Pittsburgh. While she was a resident of Huntingdon, pastoral care was provided by Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She retired from the Joseph Horne Co. in Pittsburgh where she had been employed as a bridal consultant. A funeral mass will be held March 10, at St. Raphael and Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Pittsburgh. Committal will be made in St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh. George F. STEEL, 82, of The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, formerly of Washington St., Huntingdon, died March 5, 2004, at Westminster woods. He had been in failing health for the past six months. He was born March 31, 1921, in Huntingdon, a son of the late Charles P. and Frances (Bales) Steel. On February 12, 1972, he was united in marriage to D. Lorraine Moore in Huntingdon by the Rev. Daniel Brumbaugh. Surviving are his wife, at home; one stepson, Richard R. Godard and his wife, Donna, of Williamsport; three step-grandchildren: Randy Godard, Crystal Crane and her husband, Josh, and Shawn Godard and his wife, Crissy; and four step-great-grandchildren: Caressa and Cabel Crane and Alex and Abigal Godard. Two sisters survive, Betty Johnson and her husband, James, of Eugene, Ore., and Janet Hefright and her husband, John, of Huntingdon, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Capt. Charles E. Steel, United States Navy (retired). Mr. Steel was of the Lutheran faith. He was a life member with 60 years as a member and Past Commander of the Frank P. Hommon Post #24 American Legion, Huntingdon; a life member of the Standing Stone Post #1754 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Huntingdon; and held memberships in the 40 & 8; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #976, Huntingdon; the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #233, Huntingdon; and was a former member of the Stone Creek Valley Lions Club. He attended the Huntingdon public schools and was a graduate of Huntingdon High school with the Class of 1939. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard from March 1940 until his retirement as a First Sergeant in April 1969. Mr. Steel was activated to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II with service in Normandy, northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland and central Europe and then again during the Korean War, where he earned three Bronze Campaign Stars. During his military service, he was awarded the Gen. Thomas J. Stewart Medal, the Pennsylvania Service Ribbon and obtained "Expert" and "Sharpshooter" badges in rifle and carbine and pistol respectively. He was a retired farmer. Following his retirement, he worked for Meyash Car Wash and Laundromat, Huntingdon. Mr. Steel was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and dogs. He was a skilled woodworker. Funeral services will be held March 8, at the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Dr. Peter J. Naschke officiating. Interment will take place at the Mount Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Stone Creek Ridge, Henderson Twp., Huntingdon. Mary Joan GLASGOW, 76, of Mount Union, died March 5, 2004, at her home. She had been in failing health since December. Born Oct. 16, 1927, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and M. Pearl (Treece) Glasgow. She is survived by a sister, M. June Fleck of Mount Union; and five nieces who have become her adopted daughters: Linda L. Irvin of Millersburg, Barbara J. Wright of Hesston, K. Susie Scornavocca of Morrisville, Sandra K. Shoop of Boiling Springs and Patti J. Fleck of Rolla, Mo. She was preceded in death by a brother, C. Max Glasgow, in 1971. Ms. Glasgow, was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, and the "Do Your Best" Sunday School class. She was a member of the Air Force officer Association, the Mount Union American Legion Post No. 107, the Mount Union Art Guild and for many years participated in literacy tutoring. She graduated from Mount Union High School in 1945 and from the Jefferson Hospital Training School for Nurses, now known as Jefferson University, in 1949. Shortly after graduation from nursing school, she joined the United States Air Force Nurse Corps. She retired as a major in 1976 after more than 20 years of service. Funeral services will be held March 13, at First United Methodist Church, Mount Union, with the Rev. Jeff Canankamp officiating. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. Doris F. NONEMAKER, 76, of Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, died March 6, 2004, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born July 20, 1927, in Saltillo, she was the daughter of the late Ferris and Margaret (Watkin) Mansbarger. She was united in marriage to James A. Nonemaker who preceded her in death March 31, 1000. She is survived by three daughters: Pam Mackey, and her fiance, Richard MacLean, of Allentown, Mich.; Terri Hrimnak, and her husband, John, of Chambersburg; and Kathy Cox, and her fiance, Charles DeCarlo, of Reinholds; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She is survived by five sisters: Donna Lewis of Green Valley, Ariz.; Rita Briggs of Shippensburg; Dorcas Shearer of Camp Hill; Elsie Mansberger of Huntingdon; and Patricia Speck of Jersey Shore; and one brother, James Mansbarger of Green Valley, Ariz. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ferris Mansbarger Jr. Mrs. Nonemaker was an active member of Green Village Church of God, Chambersburg, where she helped with church youth programs and bible Release. She was also a member and past president of the Golden Age Club. She retired from the former . Schoeneman Co., where she has been employed as a supervisor. Funeral services will be held March 10, at the Greenvillage Church of God, with the Rev. Ronald Dull officiating. Interment will be made in Parklawns Memorial Gardens. Hazel Rebecca BARNETT, 93, of Waterfall, died March 6, 2004, at her home in Taylor Twp., Fulton County, following an extended illness. Born July 17, 1910, in Wells Valley, she was the daughter of the late Rosswell and Sarah (Crider) Stains. She was united in marriage to Sebert D. Barnett March 21, 1942. Mr. Barnett preceded her in death March 9, 1996. She is survived by a son, Howard R. Barnett, and his wife, Ronda, of Wells Tannery, and a daughter, Brenda R. Pebble, and her husband, Lewis, of Waterfall. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Michael Barnett of Crystal Spring; Erika Bowman of Everett; Kenneth Mumma of Waterfall; Joseph Mumma of Fort Littleton and Ashley Pebble and Brittani Pebble, both of Everett; and four great-grandchildren: Kayla Mumma of McConnellsburg; D.J. Mumma and Tashie Mumma, both of Fannettsburg; and Lillie Bowman of Everett. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Barnett was a member of Center United Methodist Church, Waterfall, where she was a member of the Church's Ladies Aide Society. She was a member of the Hustontown Area Senior Citizens. Mrs. Barnett was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held March 9, at the M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown, with the Revs. George Clippinger and Belvy White officiating. Interment will be made in Center Cemetery, Waterfall. John Henry Calvin GUTHRIDGE, 86, of Saxton, died March 7, 2004, at his home in Saxton. Born June 6, 1917, in Saxton he was the son of the late Nimrod and Amanda (Ford) Guthridge. He was first married to Jean (Tate) Guthridge; then to Maxine (Lane) Sherlock Guthridge. He is survived by his wife; three sons: Jake Guthridge, Robert Guthridge and Andrew "Gump" Guthridge; six daughters: Joan "Libby" Hubler, Mary Ann Stewart, Linda Liddick, Tina Earnest, Tammy (Blous) Treister and Cindy Zimmerman; one stepson, Jody Sherlock; and two stepdaughters, Hulda (Sherlock) Drenning and Jean (Sherlock) Myers. Gladice Dolt who was reared in Mr. Guthridge's childhood home, survives. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by the following siblings: Clifford, Nimrod "Nimmy" Jr., Edgar, Harry, Andy, Chester, Alice Swisher, Nellie Hess, Francis "Beanie" Reed, Mary Dick, Ethel Miller and Sara Elizabeth Savitts. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter and three great-grandchildren, along with Donald Guthridge, Amy Vance and Amanda Katheryn Gearhart who were all reared in Mr. Guthridge's childhood home. Mr. Guthridge was a member of Robertsdale Church of God, Robertsdale. He had been a coal miner with GMW/MARK Mining in Somerset. He also had been a farmer and worked for Standard Steel, both in Lewistown; the Steel Mill in Pittsburgh; and Millers Stanley Steel in Meridian, Conn. After his retirement he worked part-time as a janitor at J&P Furniture. Funeral services will be held March 10, at Robertsdale Church of God, with Pastor Donald Simmons officiating. Interment will be made in Broad Top City IOOF Cemetery. Dorothy Jeanette KUHNS, 85, of Orbisonia, died March 8, 2004, at Chambersburg Hospital, Chambersburg. Born Aug. 21, 1918, in Shirleysburg, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Laura (Rorer) Reck. She was united in marriage to Paul R. Kuhns, who preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by two daughters, Doris Swope of Harrisburg and Linda Miller of Mount Union; one son, Paul Kuhns of Orbisonia; and seven grandchildren: Becky (Miller) Shenk, Hawaii; Josh Wakefield and Apryl Wakefield, both of Mount Union; Tracey Kuhns, Robertsdale; Crystal Dehart, Philadelphia; Laurie Dehart, McVeytown; and Paul A. Kuhns, Orbisonia. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Miller. As the last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Merle Reck and Leo Reck. Mrs. Kuhns was of the Protestant faith. In earlier years, she worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglas in Huntingdon. She later worked at L. Greif Bros. Manufacturing, Mount Union. After her retirement, Mrs. Kuhns did housekeeping for several local families. Graveside services will be held March 11, at Mount Nebo Cemetery, Shirleysburg, with the Rev. Tim Miller officiating. Helen Louise (Rohland) HESS, 91, of 2701 Cold Springs Road, Huntingdon,died March 8, 2004, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona. Born Aug. 11, 1912, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Thomas W. and Connie (Numer) Rohland. She was united in marriage to Carl W. Hess who preceded her in death April 4, 1979. She is survived by six sons and five daughters: in Huntingdon, Carl T. Hess, and his wife, Ruth; Fred D. Hess, and his wife, Naomi; Max M. Hess; William R. Hess; Helen L. Dickson; Linda A. McCarty; Frank R. Hess, and his wife, Connie; and Terry W. Hess, and his wife, Donna; Jean L. Clark of Anderson, Ind.; Nancy M. Clark and her husband, Corky, of Etivoli, N.Y.; and Diane L. Rickeard and her husband, Gordon, of Amberson. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale V. Hess; a grandson, Carl "lucky" Hess; a granddaughter, Christine Moran; a brother, Thomas Rohland; and a sister, Margaret Lane. Mrs. Hess was a former member of Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. She was educated in the Huntingdon public school and started work at the Huntingdon Silk Mill at the age of 15. Soon after, she began her life as a homemaker. She was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had resided at her Cold Springs Road home since 1936. Mrs. Hess enjoyed cooking and baking, but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Funeral services will be held March 11, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon. Interment will be made in Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon. Alice A. BRUMBAUGH, 85, of 1117 Saxton, died March 8, 2004, at her home following an extended illness. Born March 18, 1918, in Clearville, she was the daughter of the late Hughes and Nora (Redinger) O'Neal. She was united in marriage to Samuel T. Brumbaugh Nov. 19, 1938, in Cumberland, Md. She is survived by her husband at home; a daughter, Ruth Walls, and her husband, Dale, of Saxton; two sons, Kenneth Brumbaugh, and his wife Karen (Olson), of New Brighton, Minn., and Roger Brumbaugh, and his wife, Kathleen (Edwards) of Saxton; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters. Mrs. Brumbaugh was a member of Raven Run Church of the Brethren, Saxton, where she served as deaconess for 45 years and had taught the children's Sunday School class for a number of years. She was a 1936 graduate of Robert P. Smith High School. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Brumbaugh also helped her husband farm, having engaged in farming her entire life. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed flower gardening. Funeral services will be held March 12, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Dan Hammel officiating. Interment will be made in Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery. Elizabeth Marie "Libby" RUFFNER, 71, of Huntingdon, died March 8, 2004, at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, where she had been residing since January. She had been in failing health for the past year. Born April 7, 1932, in Spruce Creek Twp., Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Lewis and Alverta Grace (Rupert) Estep. She was united in marriage to Cornelius S. Ruffner November 1950 in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Ruffner preceded her in death December 1994. She is survived by a daughter, Mr. Courtney (Margie) Gaiter of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; two granddaughters, Holly Nelsona and Kelly Catando; one grandson, Joseph Gaiter; three great-grandsons, Brock Nelson, Trevan Nelson and Allan Nelson; and three great-granddaughters, Kaycee Catando, Katherine Catando and Jessica Catando. A sister, Mrs. George (Marjorie) Lowes of Monroeville, and a brother, Lou Estep of Altoona, survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, James M. Estep, Jan. 31, 1999. Mrs. Ruffner was of the Lutheran faith. She was a graduate of Juniata Valley High School. She retired in 1995 from Top's Diner in Mill Creek, where she had been a waitress for over 16 years. She was an avid bingo player. Mrs. Ruffner was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had resided at her Warm Springs Avenue home since 1984. Funeral services will be held March 12, at the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, with Pastor Elizabeth Hess officiating. Interment will be made in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Petersburg. Anna Erma WIBLE, 87, formerly of Robertsdale and Saxton, died March 9, 2004, at Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia, where she had been a resident since 1988. Born July 17, 1916, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Rebecca (Wakefield) Hileman. She was united in marriage to Kermit L. Wible Oct. 5, 1935, in Centre Hall. She is survived by her husband of Huntingdon; one son, K. Leon Wible of Leesburg, Fla.; one daughter , Linda Cutshall of Huntingdon; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Three sisters and one brother survive: Thelma Rupe of Huntingdon; Grace Dore of Venice, Fla.; Dorothy Evitts of North Port, Fla.; and Kenneth Hileman of Huntingdon. Mrs. Wible was a member of Saxton United Methodist Church. She graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1935 and later attended Juniata College. Mrs. Wible was primarily a homemaker. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon, with the Rev. Wayne L. Richards officiating. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery, Three Springs. George Irwin "Irv" PHILLIPS III, 59, Alexandria, died March 9, 2004, at his home. He was born April 18, 1944, at his family's farm, which is the present location of Edgewater Acres, Porter Twp. He was the son of the late George Irwin II an Jane (Hunter) Phillips. She was united in marriage to Julie A. Hess June 23, 1995, in Winchester, Va. He is survived by his wife at home, and two sons, George Irwin Phillips IV, and his wife, Brenda, of Plainfield, Vt., and David Jennings Phillips of Huntingdon. Two sisters, Jane Foltz, and her husband, William, of Dubois, and Kate Heins,and her husband, John, of Princeton, N.J., survive. Mr. Phillips was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, Petersburg. He was a life member of William P. Spyker American Legion Post No. 520, Alexandria, and a member of the Harry's Valley Rod & Gun Club, West Twp., Huntingdon County. He graduated from Juniata Valley High School with the Class of 1962. Mr. Phillips was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served as a sergeant with the United States Air Force Stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines, from March 31, 1965, to Oct. 30, 1968. He was a self-employed surveyor with Phillips and Associates. His main interests were spending time with his wife and children. He was Corvette enthusiast and owner and was an avid hunter. Mr. Phillips was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and had resided at his Porter Twp. home since 1978. A memorial service will be held March 11, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Route 305 Petersburg, with Pastor David Benfer officiating. Interment in Alexandria Presbyterian cemetery will be private. Full military honors will be accorded at graveside. Ronald G. MELLOTT, 64, formerly of Mapleton, died March 9, 2004, at Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, where he had been residing. Born Oct. 29, 1939, in Huntingdon, he was the son of F. Irene (Dell) Mellott, a resident of the Shirley Home for the Aged, Shirleysburg, and the late Robert W. Mellott. He is survived by five brothers: Donald E. Mellott, a resident of the Shirley Home for the Aged; Dorsey M. Mellott of Fayetteville, N.C.; Robert W. Mellott II of Irving, Texas; and Rodney J. Mellott and Timothy E. Mellott, both of Huntingdon. Mr. Mellott was a member of Cornelius Chapel United Methodist Church, Mapleton. He enjoyed books, magazines and puzzles. Thelma (Hileman) RUPE, 90, of Huntingdon, died March 10, 2004, at Huntingdon Manor, Warm Springs Avenue, Huntingdon. Born Dec. 15, 1913, in Pogue, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Rebecca E. (Wakefield) Hileman. She was twice married, first to Lex Speck Dec. 31, 1931; then to Mack D. Rupe July 1, 1950, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lewistown. Mr. Rupe preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1971. She is survived by two sons, M. Lee Speck, and his wife, Jeanne, of Middlefield, Ohio, and Thomas C. Speck, and his wife, Mary, of Mill Creek; two grandchildren, Lee Anne (Speck) Stueber, and her husband, Gerald, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Thomas C. Speck Jr. of Lewistown; and two great-grandsons, Frederick Gregory Stueber and Konrad Speck Stueber, both of Chagin Falls, Ohio. Two sisters and one brother survive: Dorothy Evitts of North Port, Fla.; Grace Dore, and her husband, Harold, of Venice, Fla.; and Kenneth Hileman, and his wife, Pam, of Huntingdon. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald E. Speck; one granddaughter, Dorothy Speck; and one sister, Anna Erma Wible, who passed away just three days ago, March 9, 2004. Mrs. Rupe was of the Protestant faith. She graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1931. She was employed by the J.C. TOWER, 70, of Mount Union, died unexpectedly March 10, 2004, at Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. Born Nov. 2, 1933, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel I. (Marshall) Grove. She was united in marriage to Paul H. Tower Jr. Jan. 4, 1984, in Lewistown. She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Nancy (Morningstar) Snyder of Saltillo; one son, Paul W. Tower Sr. of Burnt Cabins; and five grandchildren: Corry Snyder, Phillip Snyder, Clayton Snyder, Paul W. Tower Jr. and Michele Dawn Tower. Born March 2, 1953, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy M. (Barclay) Dudick. He was united in marriage to Teresa Kepner April 18, 1980. He is survived by his wife; two children, Tracy Shawver of Belleville and Matthew Dudick of McGuire Air force Base, N.J.; and two grandchildren, Daniel Kipp Shawver and Noah Shawver. A sister, Ann Jones of Liverpool, survives. Mr. Dudick was a member of Bethel AME Church in Lewistown. He was a 1971 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School. KORTH, 65, of Broad Top, died unexpectedly March 11, 2004, in the emergency room at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring. Born Sept. 21, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl R. and Atlanta A. (Bear) Carl. She was united in marriage to Russell H. Korth Jr. Sept. 28, 1956, in Stow, Ohio. She is survived by her husband at home; two sons and three daughters: Russell H. Korth III of Broad Top; Susan M. Wilmott of Saxton; Michelle Zadnowsky of Warren, Ohio; Thomas A. Korth of Eagle; and Leslie A. Brown of Broad Top; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A sister, Marion Lesher of Akron, Ohio, survives. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Nov. 30, 1919, in Juniata, she was the daughter of the late James and Edna (Bittner) Nelson. On March 28, 1942, in Juniata, she married James B. Harpster. Mr. Harpster survives at their home. Surviving are a son, James W. Harpster, and his wife, Susan, of Eden Hill; two grandchildren, James R. Harpster, and his wife, Jennifer, of New York, and Julie M. Anderson, and her husband, Travis, of Eden Hill; and two great-grandsons, Hunter and Travis Anderson. A sister-in-law, Dorie Nelson of Altoona, and a brother in Law Jim Kennedy of Altoona survives. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justin. The last surviving member of her immediate family she was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Harpster was a member of the Lower Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was active with the youth group. CAMBRIDGE, 68, formerly of Bald Eagle, and at the time of death residing in Ormond Beach, Fla., went to be with the Lord Friday, March 12, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (States) Cambridge. The couple was united in marriage March 5, 1954, and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He is survived by three sons: Howard A. Cambridge, and his wife, Rose, of Tyrone, and Jeffrey Cambridge and William Cambridge, both of Warriors Mark; and six grandchildren: Ashley, Nichole, Billy, Erica, Jeffrey and Morgan. A sister, Loretta McClellan of Bald Eagle, survives. Mrs. Cambridge served in the United States Army as an instructor on helicopter engines. He was also honored as a sharpshooter. He owned and operated Howard Cambridge and Sons Trucking Co. After his retirement in 1997, he moved from Pennsylvania to Florida, where he was employed as a courier for Ameripath. Madalene L. CALVERT, 89, formerly of Hollidaysburg, died March 12, 2004, at the Presbyterian Home in Hollidaysburg. Born May 9, 1914, in Altoona, she was the daughter of Milton and Ruth (Beck) Logue. She was united in marriage to Boyd L. Calvert Nov. 27, 1936, in Cumberland, Md. Mr. Calvert preceded her in death July 16, 1995. She is survived by one son, David Calvert, and his wife, Colleen, of Duncansville; two daughters, Linda Helsley, and her husband, David, of Somerset, and Barbara Sparr, and her husband, Ed, of Alexandria; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Logue, in 2003. Mrs. Calvert was a member of Frankstown Park Missionary Church. She was very active in her church and taught Sunday School. She was very active in politics and served as a Republican Committee woman. She graduated from Altoona High School with the Class of 1932. Roland Cadle officiating. Interment will be made in Alto Reste Cemetery. Col. Darrell Fred RISHEL, 76, of Augusta, Ga., entered into rest March 13, 2004, at Doctors Hospital, Georgia. Col. Rishel was born in Alexandria and lived the past 11 years in Augusta, Ga. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lucy; a son, Darrell F. Rishel, and his wife, Allyn, of Corning, N.Y.; a daughter, Dr. Rebecca Mecredy, and her husband, Dr. Tim Mecredy, of Augusta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Darrell and Matthew Rishel and Michael and Emily Mecredy; and one great-grandson, Alexander Joseph Rishel. He is also survived by two sisters, Catherine Jean Knee and Caroline Rowles, both of Clearfield; and an aunt, Jean Bollinger. Col. Rishel served as a deacon for the First Christian Church of Augusta. He received his doctor of education degree at Penn State University. During a long and distinguished career as a helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army, he achieved the rank of colonel. He was an accomplished musician, playing most recently with The Augusta Jazz Project. CORBIN, 65, of Huntingdon, died March 14, 2004, at Altoona Hospital in Altoona. Born in Mill Creek, he was the son of the late Louis and Phyllis (Corbin) White. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Rupert) Kyle Corbin, at home; three children: Kim McCarty and Kit McFadden, and her husband, Michael, all of Endwill, N.Y., and Kris Kyle, and his wife, Staci, of Huntingdon; and three granddaugters: Brittnie McFadden of Endwell, N.Y., and Emily Kyle and Rachel Kyle, both of Huntingdon. A sister, Shirley Rust, and her husband, Dennis, of Evanston, Ind., survive. He is also survived by Donald Hagens of Mount Union, a close family member. Mr. Corbin was a member of the Frank P. Hommon Post No. 24 American Legion in Huntingdon. He was educated in the public schools of Huntingdon and graduated from School with Class of 1957. He served in the United states Army from 1961 - 1964, attaining the rank of SP4. Walter Allison "Bill" JOHNSON, 77, of 109 Mount Vernon Avenue, Smithfield Twp., Huntingdon, died March 14, 2004, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born July 21, 1926, at the Walker Twp. family home in the village of McConnellstown, he was the son of the late Leroy Walter and Mary Ruth (Allison) Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Betty (McKenzie) Johnson, a resident of The Oaks at Westminster Woods; a son-in-law, Larry G. Rinker of Huntingdon; one grandson, Larry G. Rinker Jr., and his wife, Missy (Walker), of Porter Twp., Alexandria; and two great-grandsons, Dustin and Austin Rinker of Alexandria. One brother and one sister survive: Raymond Leroy Johnson and Mrs. Wilson (Phyllis) Snyder, both of Hesston. A daughter, Bonnie Kay (Johnson) Rinker, preceded him in death July 2002. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Home Association of the Standing Stone Post No. 1754 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 223, both of Huntingdon. He was also a life member of the Smithfield Volunteer Fire Co. He attended the Peightal and Woodcock Valley schools and Huntingdon High School. In his youth, Mr. Johnson was employed by a Huntingdon area laundry. He co-owned Johnson Brothers Trucking and Hauling from 1954 to 1960. Later, he was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas for 35 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed Monday night bingo and socializing with friends. Funeral services will be held March 18, at the John B. CRILE, 62, of Huntingdon, died March 14, 2004, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, where he had resided for over two years. Born March 30, 1941, in Mahaska County, Iowa, he was the son of Bernard Crile of Oskaloosa, Iowa, and the late Norma (Campbell) Crile. He was united in marriage to Dian M. Shank June 29, 1963, in Indiana County. He is survived by his wife at home; two sons and two daughters: Douglas E. Crile of McConnellstown; Mrs. Dennis (Amy) Leonard of Altoona; S. Keith Crile, and his wife, Joy, of Spartansburg, S.C.; and Mrs. Don (Jennifer) Cowart of Murgreesboro, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren: Peter and Chad Leonard; Brantley, Derek and Clayton Crile; and Charlie and Breanna Cowart. Michael Crile of Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was preceded in death by one son, John Robert Crile, and one sister, Betty Richardson. Mrs. Crile was ordained as a pastor October 1964 and was called to the Smithfield Community Bible Church, now known as Emmanuel Bible Church, Huntingdon, where he pastored from the fall of 1964 until 1998 when he became pastor emeritus. He was a member of the Fundamental Ministerial Association of Altoona, where he served as treasurer for several years. He served on the board of the Bible to Youth Camp and was founder of Huntingdon Christian Academy, Huntingdon's first Christian school, in 1975. He graduated from Fremont High School in Fremont, Iowa, with the Class of 1959, and graduated from Manahath School of Theology in Altoona in 1963. Mr. Crile enjoyed his family, people, gardening, old cars, reading, old-time radio and traveling. BARLEY, 60, of Penn Twp., James Creek, died March 14, 2004, at The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. Born Feb. 29, 1944, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Carl Lester and Dorothy Blanche (Garner) Stapleton, who survive in McConnellstown. She was united in marriage to John F. Barley Sept. 2, 1967, at Abbey Reformed Church in Huntingdon. She is survived by her husband at their James Creek, residence; a son and daughter, twins, Kevin L. Barley, and his wife, Amy, of Oakmont and Kelly E. States, and her husband, Chad, of Huntingdon; and a special granddaughter, Erin Kelly States of Huntingdon. Two sisters, Arlene Gulics of Woodbridge, N.J. and Jody Snare of McConnellstown, and one brother, Ron Stapleton,and his wife, Diana, of Six Mile Run, survive. Mrs. Barley was a member of Abbey Reformed-United Church of Christ in Huntingdon, where she served on the executive council, missions committee, Christian education committee and stewardship committee. She served on the board of directors of Huntingdon County PRICE, where she had served as president and, most recently, treasurer. For the past 21 years, she was responsible for coordinating the cashiers' tables at the annual PRIDE Telethon. She was also a charter member of the Woodcock Valley Lioness Club. Mrs. Barley graduated from Huntingdon Area High School with the Class of 1962. After graduation, she attended Hagerstown Medical Secretarial School and completed her training as an EEG technician. She worked with her husband in his business, Barley and Co., and was owner of Alpha staff Incorporated. Her previous employment included Polyclinic Hospital in Harrisburg and the former Prismo Safety Corporation. Mrs. Barley was recognized as an outstanding citizen in the community and was awarded the Easter Seals "Brace of an Ace" Award in 1987. She was honored with the prestigious Huntingdon County PRIDE Award in 2001. Gary H. Marcy officiating. Freeman A. Park, 94, formerly of Saltillo, died March 16, 2004, at the Morrison Cove home in Martinsburg. Born March 13, 1910, in Mapleton, he was the son of the late Bland and Annie J. (Stake) Park. He was united in marriage to Pauline Crum May 21, 1932, in Three springs. Mrs. Park preceded him in death Feb. 21, 1975. He is survived by three daughters: Janice Lorraine Lippy of Rone, N.Y., Suzanne Whitsel of Hollidaysburg and Donna Grove of Mount Joy; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Shore; three brothers and four sisters; and a close friend, Ethel Parks. Mr. Park attended Fairview Evangelical Church, Three Springs, and was a trustee of the Cornelius Chapel Cemetery Association. For over 40 years, he was a self-employed truck driver hauling lumber and railroad ties from lumber yards. Mr. Park enjoyed working in his wood shop where he made assorted crafts. Interment will be made in Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton. Katharyn Scalia JONES, 87, of Indian Head, Md., died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at her home. Born March 30, 1916, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Frank Scalia and the late Frances Bellante. She is survived by her husband, Alva Everette Jones of Indian Head; two daughters, Kathy Jones Dyer, and her husband, Danny, of Accokeek, Md., and Diane Jones Morgan, and her husband, Mike, of Port Tobacoo, Md.; four grandchildren: Shawn Coombs, Stacy Lloyd and her husband, John, Justin Morgan and Cody Morgan; and three great-grandchildren: Kathy Lloyd, Jack Lloyd and Mitch Lloyd. Two brothers and two sisters survive: William Scalia of Huntingdon, Robert Scalia of Enola, Mary Belle Breig of Indian Head, Md., and Frances Holland of Highland, Md. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Scalia Jr. Mrs. Jones was a member of Business and Professional Women: the National Association of Retired Federal Association of Retired Federal Employees; Meals on Wheels; the Charles County (Maryland) Commission of Aging; and was a volunteer at Civista Medical Center, the Richard R. Clark Senior Center and the and the Angel's Watch Women's Shelter. A former resident of Huntingdon, Mrs. Jones was a 1933 graduate of Huntingdon High School and earned her associate's degree from Charles County Community College in Maryland. She was an administrative assistant at the Naval Ordinance Station in Indian Head, Md., retiring in 1974. She also served as an administrative assistant to the President of the College of Southern Maryland. Funeral services were held March 19 in LaPlata, Md. DOYLE, 45, of Burnt Cabins, died March 16, 2004, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Burnt Cabins on Route 522, Dublin Twp., Fulton County. Born Aug. 31, 1958, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Janvier and Helen (Lake) Covert, who survive at Shade Gap. She was united in marriage to Perry J. Doyle Aug. 11, 1989. She is survived by her husband at home and one daughter, Alicia D. Dell of York. One brother, Kenneth Covert of Cassville, and one sister, Robin Peterson of Shade Gap, survive. She was preceded in death by an infant son. Mrs. Doyle attended Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap. She was employed by United Cerebral Palsy, Johnstown, as a certified nurse aide. Born Dec. 11, 1917, in Rockhill Furnace, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (Tice) Daughenbaugh. He was first married in 1942 to Louise Wilson, who preceded him in death June 6, 1985. He then married Jean (Brown) Ballas in 1987. He is survived by his wife at home; one son, James E. Daughenbaugh of Orbisonia; one daughter, Lou Ann Long of Three Springs; one stepdaughter and four stepsons: Ruth Ann Henry of Lewisburg, Stan Ballas of Herndon, Va., Dennis Ballas of Spring Grove, John Ballas of Sykesville, Md., and Steve Ballas of Three springs. He was preceded in death by one son, William Daughenbaugh, and five brothers and three sisters. Mr. Daughenbaugh was a member of Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene, Rockhill Furnace. He owned and operated Daughenbaugh's Garage, Orbisonia, from 1949 to 1983. He was also a bus driver for the Southern Huntingdon County School District for many years. FOSTER, 75, of Mifflin St. Huntingdon, and just recently of Landisville, died March 16, 2004, at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster. Born Aug. 2, 1928, in Clear Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Verna (Chilcote) Winegardner. She was united in marriage to George Raymond Foster July 13, 1948, in Winchester, Va. Mr. Foster preceded her in death March 2, 1983. She is survived by one daughter, Darlene Reynolds Seitler, and her husband, Ray, of Palmetto, Fla.; two sons: Ronald L. Foster, and his wife, Jean, of Fort Myers, Fla., and Arthur A. Foster, and his wife, Kelli, of Landisville; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two sisters survive: Anna Kyper of Everett and Freda Brown of Saxton. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dallas Winegandner and John Winegardner. Mrs. Foster was of the Protestant faith. She was employed as a waitress at various Huntingdon area restaurants for 23 years, most recently at the Palace Restaurant. She also worked from home as a seamstress for a number of years. Born Feb. 16, 1922, in Saxton, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer C. and Bertha A. (Moore) Eichelberger. She was united in marriage to Clair Snyder who preceded her in death in 1981. She is survived by two daughters: Patricia Mykut of Saxton, and Marlene Scarpari of Elizabeth; five sons: George Snyder of Pittsburgh, Ronald Snyder of Wood, Donald Snyder of Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Tom Snyder of San Diego, Calif., and Dennis Snyder of Hopewell; 21 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren. A brother, George Eichelberger, and a nephew, David Eichelberger, both of Harrisburg, survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Snyder. Mrs. Snyder was a member of Wood United Methodist Church. She was a life member of Saxton VFW Post No. 4129 and the Broad Top American Legion Post No. 126 Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Terrace Mountain Farm Society and Hopewell Senior Citizens. She was primarily a homemaker but had also worked in a shoe factory. Gladys J. KEITH, 82, of Harrisburg, died March 17, 2004, at Harrisburg Hospital. She was born in Huntingdon in 1921, the daughter of the late Harry and Lelia (Myer) Witters. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Haller of Camp Hill and Patricia Pluguez of Medford, N.J.; one son, Robert L. Keith of Mechanicsburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A brother, Charles Witters of Mechanicsburg, survives. Ms. Keith was a member of the Wormleysburg Church of God and was a volunteer in the RSVP of Harrisburg and the Golden Agers. She was retired from the former TRW and she also worked as a seamstress for the former Cameron Dress Co. She enjoyed playing bingo with her many "Bingo Buddies." ERWIN, 85, formerly of Three Springs, died March 17, 2004, at Woodland Retirement Center in Orbisonia. Born Nov. 28, 1918, in Dublin Mills, she was a daughter of the late Dorsey B. and Mary (Bratton) Brown. She was united in marriage to Arthur E. Erwin Sept. 23, 1950, at Everett. Mr. Erwin preceded her in death Jan. 13, 2001. One sister, Dorothy Brown of Three Springs, survives. Mrs. Erwin had attended First United Methodist Church, Three Springs. She was employed as the former Huston's Store in Three Springs for many years. Funeral services will be held March 20, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery. Cloyd W. Marks, 73, of Fannettsburg, died March 19, 2004, at Fulton County Medical Center in McConnellsburg. Born March 29, 1930, in Robertdale, he was the son of the late Melvin C. and Alma A. (Heath) Marks. He was united in marriage to Yukiko Nakahara March 18, 1952. Surviving is his wife and two sisters, Mrs. James Andrew (Melvina) Palko of Wood and Mona Clippinger of Robertsdale. Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister. Mr. Marks was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Dry Run. He was a member of the Mercersburg VFW Post 6241. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served in the Korean War. He worked as a welder at Letterkenny Army Depot. Mr. Marks' hobbies included painting and building model airplanes. He enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar. He loved animals and enjoyed walking. Funeral services will be conducted March 23, at the John L. Agett Funeral Home, Dry Run, with the Rev. Tim Vaughn and the Rev. Roy Fahnestock officiating. Mildred Louise BRADNICK, 77, of Three Springs and formerly of Shade Gap, died March 19, 2004, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Albert Jackson of Three Springs. Born Jan. 14, 1927, in Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Dicie Moore. She was united in marriage to Eugene W. Bradnick Nov. 15, 1947. Mr. Bradnick preceded her in death Dec. 23, 1987. She is survived by three daughters and two sons: Peggy Jackson and James Bradnick, both of Three Springs, Mary Moore and Debra Warren, both of Rockhill Furnace, and Donald Bradnick of Marietta; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One daughter, Carol Jean Hess, preceded her in death July 4, 1998, and one brother, Ordean Price, is also deceased. Mrs. Bradnick was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Shade Gap. She was past president of the Three Springs Senior Center. In earlier years, Mrs. Bradnick cooked at various restaurants and at the Shade Gap School. She also did housekeeping in the area. At one time, she and her husband cooked and maintained the facilities at the Shirley Home for the Aged in Shirleysburg. In addition, she had worked at the Knouse Foods canneries in Franklin and Adams counties. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and was loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed playing bingo, gardening, watching wildlife and attending the Three Springs Senior Center. Funeral services will be held March 23, at the Martin R. "Emmy" KREIDLER, 92, of Huntingdon, went peacefully to be with her Lord March 20, 2004, at the home where she had lived for 57 years. For the past two years, she had been housebound, and lived alone since June, when she lost Charles, her husband of 66 years. Born Aug. 26, 1911, in Dudley, she was the sixth child of 11 born to Thomas and Elizabeth (Stains) Jones. She was united in marriage to Charles Kreidler June 12, 1937, in a double wedding ceremony with Mr. Kreidler's sister and her husband, Mildred and Robert Hinkle of Lancaster, both of whom are now deceased. Mr. Kreidler passed away June 26, 2003. Mrs. Kreidler left behind three children: Benjamin Kreidler, and his wife, Linda, of Huntingdon; Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Narehood of Morrisdale; and Mrs. Ian (Sandra) Harrison of State College; four grandchildren: Toby Kriedler of Pittsburgh, Travis Kreidler of Alabama and Tanya Eutzy and David Smead Jr., both of Huntingdon. She is also survived by six step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Kreidler came from a large family of 11 siblings, who all preceded her in death: Jean Underwood, Matthew Jones, Benjamin Jones and Arthur Jones, who had all resided in Huntingdon; John Jones and Kenneth Jones, who had resided in Dudley; and Martha Mils who had resided in Renovo. Three other siblings, Rose, William and Margaret, died in infancy. Mrs. Kreidler was a longtime member of Calvary Independent Baptist Church, Huntingdon, where she faithfully attended Sunday School and church services until the past two years when ill health prevailed. Earlier, she was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and sang in the choir there. She also contributed regularly to various bake sales and other functions in the community. She attended Cookstown Elementary School through fifth grade, then stayed home to help her mother, father and family. Later, she worked as a housekeeper in Dudley and in New Jersey, prior to her marriage. As a lifelong homemaker, she was known for her cooking, especially homemade bread, chicken corn soup and pancakes. She maintained an open home fondly known as "Wanderer's Rest" for friends, family and strangers alike. Earlier in her life she enjoyed her flowers, hunting and fishing at her famous fishing holes, and had many stories to tell. She also worked side by side with her husband on the family farm. Mrs. Kreidler's life revolved around her church, family and friends and being the center of those lives. "Emmy," or "Nanny", as she was affectionately addressed by family, will be deeply missed. Dawn K. BUECHELE, 74, of Petersburg, died March 20, 2004, at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Born May 28, 1929, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. and Ina G. (McMahan) Knode. She was united in marriage to Fred J. Buechele who preceded her in death June 17, 1999. She is survived by two sons, Robert G. Buechele, and his wife, Carolyn, of Mountain Home, Idaho, and Dwight W. Knode, and his wife, Wendy, of Petersburg; two step-grandchildren, Erinn and Bryan Decker; and a step-great-grandson, Brandon Patrick Decker. Five sisters and one brother survive: Dorothy Singer and Shirley Weaver, both of Petersburg, Marie Hostetler of Allensville, Myrtle Manbeck of Huntingdon, Betty Miller of Alexandria and Robert C. Rodney Lee CARPER, 47, of 111 Shelton Ave., Alexandria, died March 20, 2004, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Dec. 4, 1956, at J.C. Blair. He was the son of George Archie and Marjorie Elizabeth (Gensimore) Carper, who survive at Tyrone, R.R.1. He was united in marriage to Lisa Diane Clouse July 24, 1982, in Alexandria by the Rev. Faust Hissong. He is survived by his wife at home and one daughter, Ashley Renee Carper, and one son, Sean Michael Carper, both of Alexandria. Three brothers and two sisters survive: Stanley W. Carper of Milroy, Michael A. Carper of Reedsville, George M. Carper, and his wife, Bonita, of Mount Union, Debra A. Hawn, and her husband, Daniel, of Petersburg and Susan B. Carper of Huntingdon, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mr. Carper was of the Methodist faith. He graduated from Juniata Valley High School with the Class of 1974. He had been employed by Mill Hill Agway in Williamsburg since September 1999. He enjoyed sports, especially football and weightlifting at Juniata Valley High School. Mr. Carper was a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County and resided at his Alexandria home since 1997. "Marty" YARNELL, 68, of Petersburg, died March 21, 2004, at Altoona Hospital in Altoona, following an extended illness. Born Sept. 15, 1935, in Three Springs, she was the daughter of the late Sheldon K. and Florence (McConnaughy) Flasher. She was first married to Melvin Everhart, who survives at Petersburg: Later she was married to Alfred Yarnell, who preceded her in death March 2, 2003. She is survived by one son, Mark Everhart of Petersburg; two daughters, Pamela Everhart-Forsht of Gilbert, Ariz., and Gloria Everhart of Huntingdon; One son, Matthew W. Everhart of Petersburg; two stepsons, John Yarnell and Larry Yarnell, both of Petersburg; and four grandsons; Jason Forsht, Brian Everhart, Gene Hammon and Benjamin Hammon. Three brothers and five sisters survive: George Flasher of Mount Union; Frank Flasher of Three Springs; Arthur Flasher of Elizabethtown; Edna Seachrist of Harrisburg; Virgina Barnard of Michigan; Donna Barthalow of Shippensburg; Mary Brennan of McConnellsburg; and Linda Watts of Mobile, Ala. One brother, Amon "Buck" Flasher, preceded her in death. Mrs. Yarnell was a member of the Petersburg Church of the Nazarene. She was retired from Huntingdon Manor, Huntingdon, having given 25 years of service as a nurse aide. She was a collector of cookbooks. HELLER, 77, of Bradenton, Fla., and Lewistown, died March 23, 2004, at The Woods of Manatee Springs, Bradenton, Fla. Born Nov. 6, 1926, in New Bethlehem, he was the son of Winn B. and Bernice (Minich) Heller. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia A. (McCall) Heller; two daughters, Mrs. David (Beth) Heller-Crimmins of suburban Philadelphia and Mrs. Charles (Susan) Heller-Rusbasan of Surrey, England; and four grandchildren: Carol and Philip Crimmins of suburban Philadelphia and Maxine and John Rusbasan of Surrey, England. A sister , Joann Baudoux of Mechanicsburg survives. Mr. Heller was a member of the Lewistown Presbyterian Church in Lewistown, where he served as an elder. He served as a board member and former chairman of the board of directors for Russell National Bank in Lewistown and was a member of the Lewistown Country Club; the Masonic Lodge in St. Petersburg; the Jaffa Shrine in Altoona; The University Club; Lewistown Lions Club and the Lewistown Rotary Club. He was also active in the Mifflin/Juniata Counties United Way and served as board Member for the Mifflin County Industrial Development Corporation. He graduated from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with the Class of 1948. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. Mr. Heller was the former owner and operator of Heller's Funeral Home, Lewistown and Burnham from 1950 to 1991. He was also part owner of the Koch Funeral Home in State College. A memorial service will be held in late June, when Mrs. Heller returns to Lewistown. Martha Mercedes ROSS, 88, of McVeytown, died March 23, 2004, at Lewistown Hospital, Lewistown, following an extended illness. Born March 10, 1916, in Orbisonia, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Gertrude (Booher) Drake. She was united in marriage to John W. "Bill" Ross July 8, 1936, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Ross preceded her in death Jan. 29, 1990. She is survived by one daughter, R. Jean Ryan of Lewistown; two grandchildren, Victoria R. Heidel of McVeytown and Brenda J. Blessing of Orrstown; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Two brothers survive, Fern "Red Drake and Earl Drake, both of Rockhill Furnace. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson and the following sisters and brother: Jenevieve Suders, Elmer Leroy Drake, Freda Krugh, Hazel Ingram and Mary Alesi. Mr. Ross was of the Protestant faith. With her husband she owned and operated Bill's Refuse Service and helped operate Bill's Diner during the 1940s and 1950s. She loved hunting and watching wildlife in her yard. She was a deep appreciation for time spent with her family and friends and also enjoyed writing poetry. Charles Beltz officiating. Interment will be made in Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. Jean K. GROVE, 81, of Churchville, Md., died March 23, 2004, at Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. Born in Alexandria, she was the daughter of the late Charles Harnish and Marie Beharry Koser. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Benjamin Grove. She is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth G. Ehrhart of Churchville, Md.; a granddaughter, Debra Ann Romish of Quarryville; and a great-grandson, Gavin Powell Romish of Quarryville. A brother, Charles Robert Koser of Alexandria, survives. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Daniel T. Grove, and a grandson, Christopher Brent Grove. Mrs. Grove was a member of the Daughters of Ruth Sunday School class at the 15th Street United Methodist Church in Huntingdon. She graduated from Alexandria High School in 1940. She was active in the family life of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, word search puzzles and visiting with friends. Lillian I. WILSON, 76, formerly of Huntingdon, died March, 24, 2004, at Huntingdon Manor in Huntingdon. Born Sept. 18, 1927, in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Violet (Gillen) Everetts. She was united in marriage to Francis S. "Dutch" Wilson Sept. 6, 1947, at First Methodist Church in Huntingdon. Mr. Wilson preceded her in death May 5, 1997. She is survived by a son, Kenneth E. Wilson of Huntingdon, and two granddaughters, Sarah Wilson and Kendra Wilson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Wilson was a member of Ardenheim Independent Church of the Brethren. She was a member of the Women of the Moose, Huntingdon. She was a graduate of Huntingdon High School and was employed by the Arrow Shirt Factory in Huntingdon until its closing. Shirley C. WELCH, 82, of Greensburg, died March 24, 2004, at Mercy Jeannette Hospital. Born May 13, 1921, in Wayne Twp., Mifflin County, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Emma B. (Boozer) Bilger. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Welch Jr. who preceded her in death in 1991. She is survived by a son, Charles Welch, and his wife, Joyce, of Harrison City, and two grandchildren, Randy and Melinda Welch. She was preceded in death by a sister, Leota Woodcock. Catharine Louise (Hileman) WILSON, of Aliquippa, died March 24, 2004. She was born Aug. 19, 1929, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Mildred L. Hileman. She was united in marriage to McClellan Wilson Dec. 25, 1947. She is survived by her husband; and nine children: Gary Wilson of Orbisonia; Margaret Pierce of Huntingdon; Ricky Wilson and Paul Wilson, both of West Palm Beach, Fla.; Brenda Frazer of New Bern, N.C.; Robert Wilson of Elwood City; and Carol Vickodil, David Wilson and Randy Wilson, all of Aliquippa. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters survive: Robert Hleman of Port Charolotte, Fla., Ronald Hileman of Mount Union, Mary Diak of Mount Union and Betty Shultz of Huntingdon. Mrs. Wilson loved to travel, having toured London, England, and Holland, Germany, France, Mexico, the Caribbean Islands, Hawaii and the Bahamas. Services will be held in Aliquippa. Allegra "Sis" (Carper) THOMPSON, 69, of State College, and formerly of Aaronsburg and Huntingdon, died March 24, 2004, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born Dec. 2, 1934, in Coburn, she was the daughter of the late Ray John and Lodie (Musser) Carper. She was united in marriage to James L. Thompson July 16, 1976, in Aaronsburg. She is survived by her husband at home and one son from a prior marriage, Dale Hosterman of Millheim. Two sisters and three brothers survive: Nancy Gwinn of Phoenix, Ariz., Jane Rimmey of Centre Hall, Frank Carper of New Jersey, Barry Carper of Spring Mills and Michael Carper of Aaronsburg, as well as several nieces and nephews. A brother, Harold Carper, preceded her in death. Mrs. Thompson attended Calvary Independent Baptist Church in Huntingdon and was a former member of the Lutheran Church in Aaronsburg. She was an inspector of medical supplies for Gettig Pharmaceuticals. She had previously been employed by several companies in the Huntingdon and Philadelphia areas. Mrs. Thompson enjoyed arts and crafts and gardening and will always be remembered for her humor. Funeral services will be held March 27, at the Koch Funeral Home, State College, with the Rev. Elizabeth Ann "Betty" LANE, 84, of Newark, Del., passed away March 26, 2004, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, Del. Born April 3, 1919, in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Frank T. and Esther C. (Jones) Allender. Her husband, Leroy P. "Preacher" Lane, preceded her in death. She is survived by a son, Larry W. Lane; a daughter, Linda D. Power; a grandson, David R. Power; two granddaughters, Lisa R. Ryan and Elizabeth D. Power; and eight great-grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica, Keith, Kevin, Melissa, Paige, Casie and Jakob Ryan. A brother, Frank L. Allender, survives. She was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. Mrs. Lane was a member of Olivet Presbyterian Church, Prospect Park, where she was very active in church activities. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Rainbow Girls in Prospect Park. She was a graduate of Orbisonia High School and worked as a distribution manager for Renaire Corporation, Springfield. Mrs. Lane was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Pauline (Shinn) Galbraith SHUNK, 90, a resident of The Oaks at Westminster Woods, Huntingdon, and formerly of 1705 Washington St., Huntingdon, died March 26, 2004, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Born Dec. 2, 1913, in Everett, she was the daughter of the late James and Eva (Moore) Shinn. Her first marriage was to John P. Galbraith who preceded her in death in 1951. On June 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to Frank Shunk Jr., in Winchester, Va. Mr. Shunk preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2001. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Joan (Galbraith) Branthaver, and her husband, G. Edward, of Williamsport, Md.; John P. Galbraith of Huntingdon; and Mary Anne (Shunk) Morder, and her husband, Robert A., of Huntingdon; four grandchildren: Jason R. and Bradley S. Morder and Heather S. and Amanda G. Galbraith, all of Huntingdon; and two great-grandchildren. One sister, Ann Zauzig, and her husband, R. Gaird, of Huntingdon, survive. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel E. Branthaver, and a sister, Vera S. Robb. Mrs. Shunk was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren, Huntingdon. She was educated in Huntingdon public schools and graduated from Huntingdon High School with the Class of 1931. Mrs. Shunk was primarily a homemaker, and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, flowers and gardening. Funeral services will be held March 30, at the John B. "Gabby" GEIB, 42, of Elizabethtown, died March 26, 2004, at 4609 Bossler Road, Bainbridge, as the result of an accident. Born in Harrisburg, he was the son of Amos W. Geib and Elizabeth Diegel Richard, who survive in Elizabethtown. He and his wife, Linda J. (Olweiler) Geib, would have celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary in May. He is survived by his wife at home; his parents; step-mother, Mellie Roland Geib of Elizabethtown, formerly of Huntingdon county; a daughter, Amanda D. Wilson, and her husband, Jason W., of Bainbridge; and one step-granddaughter. Four sisters and three brothers survive: Tammy L. Aller of Washington Boro, Vicky S. Stief of Elizabethtown, Kelly E. Geib of Marietta, Edward E. Geib of Camp Hill, Cheri L. Geib of Elizabethtown, Roland A. Geib, and his wife, Kathleen M., of Elizabethtown, and Kim M. Wolgemuth, and her husband, Steve A., of Elizabethtown. In his earlier years, Mr. Geib attended Newville Bible Church in Elizabethtown. An avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist, he was a member and president of Freewheelers Inc. He also enjoyed hunting and was a member of Mosquito Creek Sportsmens Club in Cameron County and Milton Grove Sportsmens Club. He owned and operated National Towing Service in Bainbridge and was previously employed for 22 years as a maintenance supervisor at Wyeth Laboratories Inc. in Marietta. He was also involved with the Mariettta Emergency Development Squad at Wyeth. Funeral services will be held April 2, at Good Mennonite Church, Bainbridge. Interment will be made in Good Mennonite Cemetery in Elizabethtown. Paul E. BOLLMAN, 76, of Saxton, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at Huntingdon Manor in Huntingdon. Born Jan. 27, 1928, in Carbon Twp., Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late John and Nevada (Thomas) Bollman. He was united in marriage to Sylvia Black, April 3, 1953. Mrs. Bollman preceded him in death Jan. 31, 2002. He is survived by one brother, Joe Bollman of Quakertown; and nine sisters: Nevada Ruby of Youngstown, Ohio; Ruth Tedrew of Saxton; Margaret Cornelius of Saxton; Hannah McKnight of Cassville; Elsie Gates of Dudley; Ethel Ford of Todd; Dolly Duvall of Wood; Mary Ann Weaver of Biglerville; and Sally Hess of Cassville. Mr. Bollman was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served as a private in the United States Army. He had been employed as a coal conveyor man for Vaughn Tinley's coal mine in Saxton. He had also worked in the woods, but was primarily known for operating a salvage yard. Funeral services will be held March 29, at the Curtis A. Heath Funeral Home, Broad Top City, with Pastor Lanny Hoover officiating. Interment will be made in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run. Betty J. STEVER, 57, of Calvin, died March 28, 2004, at Rahway Hospital in Rahway, N.J. Born Aug. 29, 1946, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Edward G. and Grace V. (Snyder) Brown. She was united in marriage to Norman L. Stever March 7, 1975. Mr. Stever preceded her in death June 14, 1993. She is survived by two brothers, Edward J. Brown of Roosevelt Park, N.J. During her life, Mrs. Stever had primarily been a homemaker. Graveside services will be held April 2, at Wright Cemetery, Calvin, with the Rev. David Ford officiating. Kay L. MORGAN, 57, of Lancaster, died of natural causes March 28, 2004, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lewistown, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Ethel M. Treaster. She and her husband, H. Dennis Morgan, had been married for nine years. She is survived by her husband; three sons: James T. Furnier, and his wife, Karen, of Atlanta, Ga., Timothy S. Furnier of Middleburg and Louis G. Sycz, and her wife, Shannon, of Lock Haven; a daughter, Tammy K. Harris, and her husband, James, of Atlanta, Ga.; two step-daughters, Shelby D. Keen, and her husband, Roy M., of Lancaster, and D'Anne Nelson, and her husband, Lee, of Upper Darby; and a stepson, Cameron Wade Morgan, and his wife, Debra C., of Doylestown. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Morgan was an active member of Calvary Church. She was a former leader of the 4-H Horse and Pony Club in Snyder County. She was also a member of the Red Rose Quilters Guild and made several charity quilts for children at Lancaster County Shelter for Abused Women. She worked in sales at the Dress Barn in Rockvale Square and previously taught cosmetology at the International Beauty School of York. Robert Duane LEONARD, 22, of Saxton, died unexpectedly March 28, 2004, at his home, from injuries suffered in a house fire. Born May 19, 1981, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Ronald D. and Jody D. (Holovka) Leonard. He is survived by his father in Saxton; his mother in Johnstown; paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Leonard of Altoona; maternal grandmother, Rebecca J. Bowden of Johnstown; and paternal grandfather, Patrick Holovka of Johnstown. Two brothers survive: Johnathon Leonard of Saxton and Ronald D. Leonard Jr. of Mount Union. He was preceded in death by a sister, Sarah Leonard. Mr. Leonard was affiliated with Coalmont United Methodist Church. He graduated from Tussey Mountain High School with the Class of 1999 and for a number of years had worked at Seton, Saxton. He enjoyed reading. Funeral services will be held March 31, at the D. Ronald Long Funeral Chapel, Saxton, with Pastor Todd Templeton officiating. Interment will be made in Grandview Cemetery, Saxton. Elizabeth W. MCBRIDE, 85, formerly of Enola, died March 28, 2004, at Manor Care in Camp Hill. She is survived by her husband, Victor McBride, a resident of Manor Care; two sons, Victor G. McBride, both of Enola; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. One sister, Barbara Baker of Florida, survives. Mrs. McBride was a retried beautician. A memorial service was held today at the Sullivan Funeral home in Enola. Anna Curran (Thompson) SNYDER, 84, of Newville, died March 29, 2004, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born in California in 1920, the daughter of the late James S.G. and Anna (Watts) Thompson. She met her late husband, the Rev. Dr. Ralph B. Snyder, while teaching in New Bethlehem and Duncannon. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Barker, and her husband, Frederick T., of Derby, Vermont, and Margaret Elaine Fry, and her husband, Clarence W., of Newville; and four grandchildren: Michael J. Fry, Margaret A. Fry, Jonathan S. Barker and Jeremiah F.S. Barker. A sister and brother survive: Margaret G. Thompson and James S.G. Thompson, and his wife, Marcia, all of McAlisterville, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was especially fond of her Sheltie, Sid. Mrs. Snyder was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Newville and shared a "beautiful ministry" for 54 years in Duncannon/Speeceville, Big Spring Presbyterian Church in Newville and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Lebanon. Parishioners referred to her as an "ideal minister's wife" who taught Sunday School, sang alto in the choir, belonged to and was former president of Presbyterian Women, led Brownie Troops, visited parishioners and was "the hostess of the manse." She was a member of the Newville Historical Society, Green Ridge Village Auxiliary and the Big Spring Senior Center. She was a music education graduate of Westminster College in New Wilmington. Mrs. Snyder was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who gave her children and grandchildren spiritual values and an appreciation for the beauty of nature, a love of travel, cooking and music. A memorial service will be held April 1, at First United Presbyterian Church, Newville, with the Rev. Vernon Gauthier officiating. Interment will be made in Lost Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, McAlisterville. Stephen R. ATHERTON, 46, of Three Springs, died March 29, 2004, at Altoona Hospital, Altoona, as a result of injuries sustained in a logging accident while at work earlier in the day near Allensville. Born March 18, 1958, in Springfield, Mass., he was the son of Leslie M. and Constance (Ginithan) Atherton of Big Greenbriar Road, McVeytown. He was married to Peggy M. (Yohn) Atherton who preceded him in death and was formerly married to Annette J. (Starr) Atherton of Hill Valley. He is survived by four sons: Randy J. Atherton, and his wife, April, of James Creek; and Corey R. Atherton, Scott M. Atherton and Danny L. Atherton, all of Three Springs; and one granddaughter, LaKendra Atherton. Five sisters and two brothers survive: Tonja Charnesky of Florida, David Atherton of McVeytown, Debra Beck of Huntingdon, Michael Atherton Sr. of McVeytown, Lucinda Parsons of Midland, Mich., Linda Atherton of Germany Valley and Laurie Gray of Mechanicsburg. Mr. Atherton attended Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church in Mill Creek. He had attended Mount Union Area High School. Mr. Atherton was a self-employed logger and had formerly worked for Henkles and McCoy. He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter and also enjoyed his work. He liked hunting and fishing and hunting for mushrooms and was a NASCAR fan. Funeral services will be held April 2, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with President Richard Hark officiating. Interment will be made in Saltillo Cemetery. Doris Jean (Patterson) WHELAND of pleasant Gap, formerly of Spruce Creek, died March 30, 2004, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. Born Dec. 15, 1933, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Harold Edward and Mary Catherine "Kate" (Estright) Patterson. On Jan. 17, 1952, she was united in marriage to Carl E. Wheland, who preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1997. She is survived by a daughter, Kay L. Cain, and her fiance, Mike Carter, of Pleasant Gap and a son, Carl E. Wheland of Tyrone. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Tami Cain of Pine Grove Mills and Tara L. (Wheland) Morenoroque of Willimantic, Conn. Mrs. Wheland attended school in Spruce Creek. She worked at Moser's Poultry, Hanover Foods and the Grier School. She was also a homemaker. A graveside service will be held at the convenience of Mrs. Wheland's family, with the Rev. James Harper officiating. Marjorie L. RUTHERFORD, 79, of Gettysburg, died March 31, 2004, at Shepherds Choice in Gettysburg. Born March 5, 1925, in Mount Union, she was the daughter of the late John R. and Lorree (Norris) Rutherford. She is survived by a sister, Janet M. Zeigler of Gettysburg, as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Rutherford attended mountain Top Ministries in Orrtanna and was employed as a secretary at Juniata College until her retirement in 1987. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Interment will be made in Mount Union Cemetery. Kerry K. DAVIDSON, 55, of Orbisonia, died March 31, 2004, at her home following an extended illness. Born April 12, 1948, in Honolulu, Hawaii, she was the daughter of the late Michael S. Kennedy and Catherine (Crownover) Kennedy of Mount Union. She was united in marriage to Richard E. Davidson March 18, 1989, in Shirleysburg. She is survived by her husband at home and by her mother. Four brothers and one sister survive: Michael Kennedy of New Cumberland, Patrick Kennedy of Ringwood, N.J., Dennis Kennedy of Petersburg, Timothy Kennedy of Saylorsburg and Rose Gladfelter of Mount Union; as well as 15 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and great-nephews. A sister-in-law, Helen Snyder of Orbisonia, survives. Mrs. Davidson was of the Catholic faith. At one time she had helped with the Orbisonia Food Bank and also at Huntingdon House. She retired on disability from the former Ownes Corning Fiberglas plant in Mount Union. Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of Mrs. Davidson's family. Interment will be made in Three Springs Cemetery.
