Mattern and the oldest resident of Warriors Mark died at her home in Warriors Mark at 10.30 o'clock yesterday morning of a heart ailment after seven months' illness. She was born at Union Furnace, Huntingdon county, on Oct. 5, 1849, a daughter of Joseph H. and Elizabeth (Keith) Waite, and on March 19, 1868, was united in marriage with Mr. Mattern, who died in October, 1925. Her entire life was spent in the vicinity of Warriors Mark. Surviving are one son, Frank K. Mattern of Warriors Mark; two brothers, H. H. Waite of Huntingdon and Blair Waite of Juniata; one sister, I. S. Buck of Warriors Mark, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Mrs. Mattern was a member of the Warriors Mark Methodist church and was active in the work of the church as long as her health permitted. Funeral services will be held at the home in Warriors Mark at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be made in the Warriors Mark cemetery.
