Born March 24, 1912, in Trough Creek, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late David S. and Mary S. (Hazzard) Grager. Her husband, Walter M. Price, whom she married June 28, 1927, preceded her in death on April 30, 1960. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Elizabeth) Vaughan, McVeytown; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having been preceded in death by: two infant daughters, Dorothy W. Price and Linda L. Price, and brothers and sisters, Rash A. Grager, Ellen Taylor, Irene Cowan, Wilda Grager, William Grager and Iva Kauffman. She had been employed for many years by a number of professional and business people in the Mount Union area as a domestic housekeeper. She attended the Brethren Church in Latta Grove in her early years and later attended Newton Hamilton Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Newton-Wayne Fire Company. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with the Rev. Jerry Wise officiating. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mountainview Cemetery, Mill Creek. Ryder Sr., 78, of rural Huntingdon died Monday, May 31, 1999, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. Born Nov. 10, 1920, in Barree Township, Huntingdon County, he was a son of the late John W. and Willa A. Clarke Ryder. On June 22, 1940, in Winchester, Va., he married "Betty" Marian Shenefelt, who survives at home. He attended the Manor Hill School and Petersburg Vocational High School. A Navy veteran, he served during World War II as a gunner's mate serving aboard the merchant ships USS Anthony Wayne and USS Quincy. He retired from Penn State in 1986 from Animal Sciences and for 14 years before that was with the Penn State Campus Patrol, for a total of 33 years with the University. He was a Methodist and member of Frank Buck Post 1 American Legion in Williamsport, a life member of Standing Stone Post 1754 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Hun-tingdon, and member of the Nat-ional Rifle Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, John David of Williamsport, Samuel H. Jr. of Bar-ree Township, Huntingdon County, and Stephen W. of Hughesville; two sisters, Joanne C. Heck of Centre Hall, Mary Patricia Harris of Smith-field Township, Huntingdon; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
