McCahan died at his home at Birmingham, at 11 o'clock on Friday forenoon, of consumption of the lungs, having been ill about two months. He was aged 290 years and 5 months. He was the son of the late John K. McCahan, who was postmaster at Birmingham when he died, about three years ago. Deceased had been a telegraph operator for the Pennsylvania railroad company at Birmingham for a number of years. His wife, Mrs. Carrie McCahan, and baby, Robert, survive, together with his mother, Mrs. Mary McCahan, sr., and these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ella Giles, now the postmaster at Birmingham; Mrs. H. L. Pryor, S. H., Dorothy, Wm. C., D. May, B. Frank, R. Clark, and R. Bruce McCahan, all of Birmingham. The funeral was held at the late home of the deceased at 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.
