McCartney, 84, of Box 322, Mount Union, RR 2, died unexpectedly at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Born April 7, 1921, in Petersburg, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Henderson) Brenneman. She was united in marriage to Harry W. "Will" McCartney, March 10, 1937. Mr. McCartney preceded her in death Oct. 22, 2001. Mrs. McCartney is survived by 10 children: Carl McCartney, Altoona; Mary Kauffman and husband, Samuel, Lewistown; Nancy Knable and husband, Donald, Newton Hamilton; Ronald McCartney and wife, Wanda, Mount Union, RR 1; Donald McCartney and wife, Iva, Mount Union, RR 2; Jack McCartney and wife, Daphne, Shirleysburg; Connie Forshey and husband, Dean, Shirleysburg, RR 1; Danny McCartney and wife, Susie, Mill Creek; Helen "Dolly" Heffner and husband, Daniel, Huntingdon; and Susan Martin and husband, Joe, McVeytown; and 49 grandchildren, 106 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Doris Abrashoff, Kistler; Alice Kern, Mill Creek; and Rene Bunn, Altoona. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert and Wilbert "Wimp" McCartney. Mrs. McCartney was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Mount Union. She retired from Robin Footwear, Mount Union, and previously worked at Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon. Mrs. McCartney loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed going to the Belleville auction. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Steve Motter officiating. Interment will be made in the Mount Union Cemetery. Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. this evening, Friday, march 10, and from 9 a.m. Saturday until the hour of the service. The Daily News, Huntingdon, PA, March 10, 2006
