McClain, 78, of Calvin, died Sunday evening, Dec. 31, 2000, at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at the Robert I. McClain Funeral home. Cassville, with the Rev. Donald Henderson officiating. Interment will be made at Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, RD Mapleton. Visitation will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Born Sept. 28, 1922, in Union Township, Huntingdon County, he was a. son of the late Dwight and Pearl (Stapleton) McClain. He was united in marriage to Elsie L. Querry on April 10, 1943, at the United Methodist Parsonage in Cassville. Mrs. McClain survives at their home. The following children survive: Carl E. Colbert of Star Route, Huntingdon, Larry A. McClain of Cassville, Bonnie E. Hess of Maytown, Darlene L. Henise of Felton, Kathleen A. Barnhart of Star Route, Huntingdon, David G. McClain of Cassville RD and Terry L. McClain of Calvin. Eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. McClain is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Dorothy Heaster of Mapleton, Edna Hall of Shiremanstown, Betty Flanagan of Shiremanstown, Winston McClain of Star Route, Huntingdon, Beth Edwards of McConnellstown, Jenny Johnson of Hesston, Thomas McClain of Austin, Texas, Richard McClain of Cassville, Barry McClain of Mount Union and Stephen McClain of Star Route, Huntingdon. One brother, Kevin McClain, is deceased. Mr. McClain was of the protestant faith. He was co-owner of McClain Logging, Calvin, and was previously employed at Owens Corning Fiberglass, Huntingdon, for 18 years.
