McElrath, 75, of Pogue Road, Orbisonia, went to be with the Lord at 4:06 p.m., Saturday, January 24, at J. C. Blair Hospital, Huntingdon. A Funeral Liturgy was held Thursday, January 29, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Gap, with Rev. Fr. Alan Thomas as the celebrant. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia. She was born March 4, 1933 in Robertsdale, and she was the daughter of the late Charles and Flo (Bair) Doyle. Mrs. McElrath is survived by three children: Richard Miller and William McElrath, both of Orbisonia and Annette LaBarre and husband, Scott of Bethlehem. She was especially fond of her grandchildren: Jennifer Heaster; Richie Miller; Matt Miller; Landon McElrath; Cailyn Breski and Mike, Zack and Josh LaBarre. Mrs. McElrath was blessed with three great grandchildren: Taylor Heaster; Allison Miller and Masalyna Miller with whom she loved to spend time. Two sister and four brothers preceded in death: Mary Shingler; Rose Miller; William Doyle; Bernard Doyle; Wendell Doyle and Robert Doyle. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. McElrath was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Gap. From all the families whose lives were touched by her from her years of service with the Home Nursing Agency and employment on her own after her retirement as a caregiver, from her friends and family, Mrs. McElrath will forever be known as a person who never gave up and was always there for the people around her. She showed a compassion for the sick and dying that few people will ever possess. She showed this same compassion to all her friendship in her life but most of all she showed this to her family until her passing. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
