JOHN McILHENNY SHOOTS HIMSELF. John McIlhenny, of Shirley township, blew the top of his head off with a shotgun, Friday afternoon. He had been living in a small house in Hill Valley about six miles from Mt. Union. For a few days before the deed he had been stopping with James Banks. On Friday evening McIlhenny borrowed a gun from Mr. Banks and left the house. In the evening Mr. Banks went to the McIlhenny house and rapped at the door but received no reply. He forced the door open and found McIlhenny lying on the floor with the top of his head blown off and the empty gun by his side. The suicide was a veteran of the Civil War.
