McMath, of Black Log Valley, whose serious illness was noted in the Globe, died on Wednesday morning after several months illness of liver complaint and stomach trouble. He was aged 40 years and belonged to one of the most prominent families in the county and was widely known. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters. Interment at Waterloo in the Presbyterian Cemetery, Rev. Finney officiating. In the death of Mr. McMath another old landmark is removed from the community. NOTE: I think the "aged 40 years" is an error since I have him at 68 when he passed away. His daughter, Catherine, also died of Typhoid Fever two weeks later and she was only 40 years old. ~ M.
