McMullen, 91, formerly of Shade Valley and Path Valley and more recently a resident of Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, died at 9:10 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2002, at Chambersburg Hospital. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, RD Shade Gap, with Rev. Fr. George Koharchik officiating. Interment will be made at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, 9-10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Born Feb. 18, 1911, in Tell Township, Huntingdon County, she was a daughter of the late Simon and Rebecca (Silverthorne) Starr. She was married to Jacob A. McMullen on June 23, 1931, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, RD Shade Gap. Mr. McMullen preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1991. She is survived by the following children: Helen Hunter, Philadelphia; Magdalen Corley, Mesa, Ariz.; Paul McMullen, Chambersburg; and Jane Crouse, Chambersburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. One son, Leo, preceded her in death. Mrs. McMullen was the last surviving member of her family of 10 children. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, RD Shade Gap, and during her life was a homemaker. The Valley Log, Orbisonia, Pa., February 20, 2002
