Moore, age 80, of Stiver Road, Warriors Mark died Monday, October 25, 2004 at 5:05 p.m. at Moran's Nursing Home, Bellwood. He was born January 7, 1924 at Tyrone RD1, the son of Marcus A. and Virginia E. Beck Moore Sr. On November 27, 1943 at Harrisburg he was married to Virginia Cunningham who survives. Also surviving is a cousin, Lorna Barto of Spring Mount. He was a graduate of Warriors Mark High School Class of 1941. He retired in 1986 after 34 years service as a clerk at the A&P Tea Company Supermarket in Tyrone. He saw service in the United States Navy during World War II as a torpedo man second class, serving in both the European and Pacific Theaters. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Cartright Hunting Club which he had served as president for 50 years. He was a member of the Warriors Mark Fire Company, an active member of the Fire Police, was a member of Anderson Denny Post #4559 V.F.W. and Howard Gardner Post American Legion #281. Funeral service for Mr. Moore will be held Thursday, October 28, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc. with Reverend Charles A. Fitzgerald officiating. Interment with military honors will be made in Burket Cemetery, Warriors Mark. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, October 27, 2004
