Neff died on Friday morning very suddenly at 7:30 at his home in Porter township. He had just eaten breakfast and was sitting by the stove, when his head began to droop and he died instantly. The physician pronounced it valvular heart failure. He was a son of Andrew G. and Annie (Frank) Neff and was born on July 14, 1850, in Porter township. He was a bachelor and had followed farming all his life. After the death of his parents he and a maiden sister Anna lived together. The mother died four or five years ago. Mr. Neff was a member of the Reformed church at McConnellstown. Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Miss Anna Neff, at home; Mrs. Laura, widow of the late Scott Huyette, of Porter township; Jacob C. Neff and Milton B. Neff, of Porter township. Mrs. A. B. Brumbaugh, of 1622 Moore street, Huntingdon, is an aunt. The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, services at the residence and interment in Neff cemetery between Alexandria and Petersburg. Altoona Tribune, Tuesday, January 28, 1919, page 9
