Miss Mary Virginia Neff, of 1311 Mifflin street, Huntingdon, Pa., died at the home of her brother, Clyde E. Neff, in Wilkinsburg, on Thursday, October 17th at 11.30 a.m. from the effects of Spanish influenza and pneumonia. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Neff (both deceased) and was born in Huntingdon on January 31, 1898; being aged at time of death 20 years, 8 months and 17 days. Miss Neff had graduated from the Huntingdon High school in 1916, and from the Zeth Business School in Altoona, in 1917. About four months prior to her death she went to Wilkinsburg, where she accepted a position in the offices of the Westinghouse Company. She was always of a bright and cheerful disposition, and had many friends in Huntingdon, who are very sorry to learn of her sudden death. While in Huntingdon, she had been employed as clerk in several of the best stores, and her services were always entirely satisfactory wherever she worked; the writer can vouch for the truthfulness of such a statement, as she at one time clerked in his store. She is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Clyde E. and Miss Margaret M. Neff, of Wilkinsburg; James B. Neff, of Altoona; Charles in the U.S. service in France; Miss Frances Neff, of Huntingdon and by Mrs. Nellie, the wife of W. L. Beck, of 1311 Mifflin street, this city. The body was brought to Huntingdon on Friday afternoon, and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Beck, where private funeral services were conducted on Sunday afternoon, by the Rev. L. M. Brady, pastor of the Fifteenth street Methodist Episcopal church, of which the deceased was a faithful member. Interment in Riverview cemetery in the family plot.
