Formerly she resided with her stepmother, Anna T. Bowser, at Huntingdon. R.D. 4. Born July 20, 1021, in Roaring Spring, she was the daughter of the late Aaron Jr. and Bertha M. (Clap-per) Garber. She is survived by her stepmother and the following brothers and sisters: Aaron Garber, Orbisonia; Herbert Garber, Donna E. Heck and Eugene Garber, all of Huntingdon; Kathryn M. Goodman, Alexandria; and A. June Leonard, Huntingdon. Miss Garber was preceded in death by six brothers: John, Harry, Charles, Wilbert, Warren and Harold. She was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church, Huntingdon, R.D. 4. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Purple Heart. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 19, at 2 p.m., at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Greg L. Harven officiating. Interment will be made in the Aibright Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Roaring Spring. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. tonight and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service on Tuesday. Joseph J. Williams, 73, of Cham-bersburg, died Wednesday, Oct.13, 1999, at the Chambersburg Hospital. He is survived by his wife, the forrner Marcella Covert, who is a native of Orbisonia. They celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary July 23, 1999. Also surviving is a son, Craig, of Chambersburg, and two daughters, Lisa Stay man of Chambersburg and Ginine Jordan of Fairfield. America, Inc.; National Association of Retired Federal Employees; and was a long-time choir member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church in Chambersburg. He was an avid fisherman. Brechbiel, 92, former-ly of Mapleton, R.D., died at 7 a.m. Monday, Oct.18, 1999, at Hunting-don Manor, Huntingdon. Born Dec.18, 1906, in Greencastle, R.D., he was the son of the late David and Effie (Wellech) Brechhiel. He was united in marriage to Zola V. Varner Nov.22, 1928, in. Cumberland, Md. Mrs. Brechbiel preceded him in death April 16, 1998. Surviving are three children: Velma Hardy and Duane Brechbiel, both of Mapleton, R.D.; and Joyce Ford, Saltillo. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. Brechbiel is survived by a sister, Rhoda Wolford, and a brother, David Brechbiel, both of Greencastle. Eight brothers and four sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of the Beech Run Church of the Brethren, Mapleton, R.D., where he was a trustee, deacon and Sunday School teacher for over 40 years. During his life, Mr. Brechbiel was employed by Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mount Union, for over 43 years, retiring in 1971. He was also a farmer. Born Feb.10, 1922, at the family home in Penn Township, she was the daughter of the late Arthur P. and Mabel (Hoover) Hess. She married Floyd Benjamin Wible July 4, 1946, at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Huntingdon. He preceded her in death May 10, 1982. Mrs. Wible is survived by three sons: Dennis F. Wible, Fort Myers, Fla.; and Kevin A. Wible and Joey D. Wible, both of Huntingdon. Mrs. Wible began working for Mead School and Office Products May 11, 1966. She was employed in production as a spiral inserter. She retired May 1, 1984, after 18 years of service. She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Hesston. She was an active member of the Smithfield Fire Company and its auxiliary and was a cook for fire company dinners, banquets and functions for many years. She had been recognized on several occasions for her hard work and dedication to the fire company. She attended the Hesston Grade School and graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1941. She had been a lifetime resident of Huntingdon County. Prior to moving to the Blair House five years ago, she had lived on Pike Street in Smithfield since her marriage. Dr. James E. Witt, 61, of Burnt Cabins, died at 1 a.m. Tueday, Oct. 19, 1999, at Harrisburg General Hospital. Harrisburg, following a heart attack. Born June 13, 1938, in Johnstown, Cambria County, he was the son of the late James F. Witt and Virginia I. (Newcomer) Witt who survives in Johnstown. He married Judith R. Mathias, May 11, 1963 In addition to his wife and moth-er, he is survived by a sister, Jenny Hench of Huble'sburg. Dr. Witt was a member of the Church of the Brethren, New Paris, and he attended the Burnt Cabins Presbyterian Church, Burnt Cabins. He was a staff member of the Fulton County Medical Center for 29 years; former chief of staff at the Fulton County Medical Center; member of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Medical Association; was currently on the board of directors for the Community State Bank of Orbisonia; and was a former faculty member at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Witt graduated from the Chestnut Ridge High School and received his bachelor of science degree in chemistry and master's degree in education from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He received his osteopathic degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and served his internship at Doctors Hospital, Erie He then went into private practice at Spring Run. In 1970, he taught clinical medicine and was director of Rural Clinics at the Philadelphia College or Osteopathic Medicine from 1973 until 1980. In 1980, he opened a private practice in McConnellsburg. In May 1998, he became a part-time instructor at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He was also involved in farming since 1964. Born Nov. 5, 1942, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James and Mary K. (O'Connell) Welsh. He was united in marriage to the former Carolyn D. Rogers July 3, 1965, at Glenside. Along with Mrs. Welsh, he is sur-vived by the following children: Dee Romberger, Harrisburg; Patti Clugston, Chambersburg; Alex Welsh, Suzanne Welsh, David Welsh, Marcus Welsh, Ashley Welsh and Omar Welsh, all at home. He coached Little League Baseball and was a coach for the Little Ladies Softball team in Orbisonia-Rockhill. He retired in 1993 from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, after 24 years of service. Born Sept.26, 1933, in Alexandria, she was the daughter of John and Alberta Carolus. Mrs. Carolus survives in Huntingdon. She was united in marriage to Raymond Danielak Sept.10, 1960. He preceded her in death March 1992. Surviving are seven children: Cindy Birdwell, Washington, Mich.; Donna Paviani, Rochester Hills, Mich.; Cathy Berroa, Tampa, Fla.; Ronald Danielak, Joseph Danielak, David Danielak and Timothy Danielak, all of Detroit, Mich. Mrs. Danielak is survived by five siblings: James Carolus, Laura Patterson and Roberta Port, all of Huntingdon; Robert Carolus, Petersburg; and Harvey Carolus, Alexandria. Mrs. Danielak was a graduate of the Juniata Valley High School, Class of 1952. She attended the Nyack Bible College in New York and later made her home in Detroit, Mich. Richard "Dick" Meck Sr., 64, of James Creek, R.D. 1, died unexpectedly Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at 5:30 a.m., at his home. Born July 15, 1935, in Six Mile Run, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Margaret (Clark) Meck. He married Durlene M. Schaffer Aug.25, 1956, in Round Knob Church of God. The Rev. Daniel Brumbaugh officiated at the ceremony. Mrs. Meck survives at home, along with the following children: Vickie Lynn Kormanic, Erie; Monea Lorie Fortunato, Brackettville, Texas; Richard Gregory Meck, Huntingdon; and Daniel John Meck, James Creek. There are four grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister also survive: Lorenzo Meck, Six Mile Run; Don J. Meek, Chambersburg; and Jane Willison, Saxton, R.D. An infant brother preceded him in death. Mr. Meck was a member of the Round Knob Church of God. He was a 1953 graduate of the Saxton-Liberty High School; a 1957 graduate of Shippensburg State Teachers College; and received his master's degree in education from Penn State. He was a member of PSEA and the Pennsylvania Retired Teachers Association. He retired in 1989 after 33 years of service at the Hollidays-burg Junior High School, where he taught ninth-grade algebra. He started working for the New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. when he was 16, and worked there every summer. Between 1990-1998, he worked there full-time in the concrete paving division. He also owned and operated the D&D Sta-bles and Tack Shop in James Creek for the past 34 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
