All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/pafiles.htm ________________________________________________ DAVID NEWTON PALMER A well known resident of Mount Union, died Monday, November 12, 1923, at Harrisburg [Harrisburg State Hospital] after a lingering illness from complications. He was the son of James and Barbara Palmer, and was born March 6, 1860 in Hill Valley, where he resided for a part of his life. On January 17, 1889 [should be 1886], he was united in marriage with Alice Carrie Stunkard, of Gilboa, who survives with these children: Preston and Leslie Palmer, of Detroit, Michigan; Remick of Altoona; Misses Anna, Alice and Esther Palmer, at home. He was a member of the Methodist church, and a man highly esteemed by neighbors and friends. For several years after locating in Mount Union, Mr. Palmer served as policeman for the borough, also for the Harbison-Walker Refractories Company. The body was brought to his late home on Tuesday, and funeral services will take place from the Methodist church this Friday afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock, in charge of his pastor, the Rev. D. Y.
