Fred William Parks, Jr., age 58, of 1315 Mount Vernon Avenue, Huntingdon died Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 6:25 a.m. at the J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, following an extended illness. He was born in Huntingdon on May 28, 1947, the son of Fred William Parks, Sr. and Sara Isabelle (Hall) Parks who preceded him in death. On September 30, 1968 in Baltimore, MD he married Carolyn Kay (Smith) Parks who survives. Also surviving are one son and one daughter: Jeannette Linn (Parks) Zimmerman and her husband, Mark Eugene of Harrisburg and Joseph Fred Parks of Huntingdon; five grandchildren: Keysha Marie Sheeder, Kayla Louise Parks and Allen Parks of Huntingdon, Wyatt Eugene Zimmerman and Cassie Layne Zimmerman of Harrisburg; one sister, Sally Jo (Parks) Duvall of Mill Creek; three nephews and one niece: Joseph C. Duvall of Mill Creek, Thomas J. Duvall of Little Rock, AR and Harry L. Smith of Huntingdon and Amy Jo Smith of Petersburg. He was preceded in death by one niece, Tina Louise (Smith) Carper. Mr. Parks was a member of the Emmanuel Bible Church of Smithfield Township, Huntingdon. He attended Huntingdon public schools and was employed by Owens-Corning Fiberglas on the Mat Line from 1972 until his retirement in 2000. He enjoyed woodwork in crafts and cabinetry. Friends may call at the Emmanuel Bible Church, RD4, PA Route 26, Huntingdon, following the Memorial Service on Friday, June 3, 2005. A Memorial Service will be held at the Emmanuel Bible Church on Friday, June 3, 2005 at 5 p.m. with the Reverend Gregory Harven officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions in remembrance of Mr. Parks for the Emmanuel Bible Church, Auditorium Fund, RD4, Huntingdon, Pa. 16652.
