Parson, wife of Archie Parson, died at her home in Port Royal, on Thursday, Oct. 17, at 11.30 p.m., from the effects of Spanish influenza and pneumonia. Mrs. Parson was the daughter of William H. and Lena L. Fair, of Tenth and Moore streets, this city, and was born in Huntingdon on Sept. 28, 1883, being aged at time of death, 35 years and 19 days. She was united in marriage to Archie Parson, of Shade Gap, about 16 years ago, after which they made their home in Mount Union during the remainder of their married life, until quite recently, when they moved to Port Royal, where Mr. Parson had accepted a position as signalman. She was well known in Huntingdon, and had many friends who were sorry to learn of her sudden death. She and her husband were members of the Baptist church in Mount Union. She is survived by her husband, three daughters and one son as follows: Mildred, Calvin, Thelma and Lena Parson, all at home. She is also survived by her parents, residing at Huntingdon, and by the following brothers and sisters: Ira H. Fair, Mrs. C. B. Swayne, Lewis E. Fair, of Huntingdon; Miss Marietta Fair, at home; Mrs. Harry Cornelius, Mrs. Howard Mills, of Juniata, and Harvey Fair, who has been living at the home of his sister, Mrs. Cornelius, in Juniata. Funeral services were conducted at her late home in Port Royal, on Sunday, the funeral cortege arriving in Huntingdon on Sunday afternoon on the 1.52 train, and went to the home of her parents, where further services were conducted by the Rev. F. R. Wagner, pastor of the Lutheran church of Huntingdon, assisted by Rev. Bullen, of Mount Union, with interment in Riverview cemetery.
