Alexandria, January 30. - John Patterson, aged 61, one of Alexandria's influential citizens, died at 9 o'clock this morning at the Blair Memorial hospital, Huntingdon. Mr. Patterson had been suffering for many months from a complication of diseases and in the hope of prolonging his life, his physician took him to the hospital a few days ago. Examination on Sunday morning showed that an operation would be hopeless and that the end was near. His wife died a few months ago. Surviving him are four children: Miss Margaret and Samuel, at home; Mrs. Ella Raub, of Illinois; Robert, of Mt. Union. In politics Mr. Patterson was a staunch Republican. He was a member of the Odd Fellows' lodge and always active in the affairs of the community. He was a good, conscientious citizen, who will greatly missed. The funeral service will be held at his late home on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in the Alexandria cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Wednesday Morning, January 31, 1917
