W. Peterson, died suddenly this morning at 8.15 o'clock at her home, 22 Valley street. Yesterday, Mrs. Peterson was in her usual health. At six o'clock last evening she became ill with a pain in the stomach. The family physician was summoned and she secured temporary relief. About eight o'clock she became worse and the physician was recalled. Her condition apparently improved again until shortly after midnight when she suffered an apoplectic stroke which left her unconscious. Another doctor was called into consultation with the family physician but she died without regaining consciousness, her entire right side being paralyzed. Mrs. Peterson had for some time been suffering with stomach trouble but her illness was not considered dangerous. The deceased was born March 2, 1877, in Hill Valley, Huntingdon county, making her age 35 years and 7 days. Her mother died in 1888 and her aged father, Peter Whitsel, resides at the Peterson home. Besides the husband, the following brothers and sisters are living: Daniel Whitsel of Hill Valley, Franklin Whitsel of Saltillo, Harvey Whitsel of Mt. Union, Mrs. (Melissa) John Snue of Cora, Pa., Mrs. (Catherine) Clay Weight of Pitcairn. On December 23, 1908 she was married to Mr. Peterson at her parents' home in Hill Valley. No children were born to the union. She was a member of the Lewistown Methodist church and a woman of lovable traits of character. W. W. Peterson was formerly a butcher of this place, but is now in the livery business in Lewistown. Transcribers Notes: This is from The Sentinel newspaper of 9 March 1912. I am not related to this family. I found several newspaper obits in an old family bible. The obit has been transcribed exactly as the newspaper clipping was printed.
