Born April 15, 1923, in Orbisonia, he was the son of the late Chester and Minnie Peterson. Mr. Peterson is survived by his daughter, Tracy A. Azevedo of Manteca, Calif. and his son, Scott Peterson of Dover. He is survived by his siblings, Verna M. Peterson of York, Mary E. Keith and her husband, Ted, of Rockhill Furnace, Ross Peterson and his wife, Joan, of Three Springs, Ronald Peterson and his wife, Betty, of Orbisonia, Arthur Peterson and his wife, Judy, of Haines City, Fla., Calvin Peterson of Tampa, Fla. and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Peterson is also survived by his friend, Jane Haring. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Velma Peterson. Mr. Peterson was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a member of the Lions Club of York, as well as the American Legion. Mr. Peterson lived in York for 60 years and will be remembered as a loving father, brother, uncle and friend. He worked hard his whole life and knew how to fix almost anything. Mr. Peterson loved to hunt and fish, and was proficient at both. He also enjoyed playing golf. Mr. Peterson will be remembered for his quick wit and a great sense of humor, he enjoyed telling a few jokes. He was happiest being outside and enjoying the sunshine. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Road, Orbisonia. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11 at the Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia.
