Union, Pa. Joanne B. Pheasant, 73, of 1320 Moore Street, Huntingdon, died at 5:04 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. The funeral services were held on Friday 13, at the Robert D. heath Funeral Home, Mount Union. Officiating was Pastor Mindy Coates and interment was made in the Mapleton IOOF Cemetery, Mapleton Depot. Mrs. Pheasant was born on April 17, 1934, in Mapleton Depot, the daughter of the late Elder and Vera (Heck) Booher. Her first Husband, George N. "Boy" Grainey, preceded her in death on June 24, 1978. She then married Roy D. "Pete" Pheasant and he preceded her on March 24, 1991. Mrs. Pheasant is survived by three chidlren: David Grainey and wife, Sharon of Waynesburg; Diana Swanger and Husband, Ken of Mapleton Depot and Drena Russler and husband, Brian of Huntingdon. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jason Grainey; Christopher Grainey; Teri Grainey; Nicole Ross; Natasha Harris; Kenneth R. Swanger, Jr.; Penny Swanger; Gregrey Sacchitella and Devin Borger. Mrs. Pheasant has great-grandchildren surviving: Garrett; Riley; Parker; Carson; Hunter; Mason; Madison; McKenzie; Danica; Devin; Brenna; Trevor, Anthony and Alyssa. The following brother and sisters surviving: Lillian Shore and husband, Willis of Huntingdon; Linda Miller and husband, Frank of Mount Union; Sallie Querry of Huntingdon and James Booher and wife Carol of Mount Union. Mrs. Pheasant was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Grainey and brothers Wendell, Robert, Richard and Reed Booher. She graduated from Captain Jack High School in 1951. She was a member of the Auxiliary to Mapleton American Legion Post. Mrs. Pheasant was most recently employed at the former Helig-Myers Furniture store in Huntingdon and retired in 2000 and had previously worked as a bookkeeper for Fred Bayer Co. and General Finance Co. both of Huntingdon. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and especially enjoyed following their involvement in various activities. Mrs. Pheasant was of Protestant faith.
