Piper of Lilly, Cambria county, died at noon Tuesday, July 5, at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Flannigan of East End, Altoona, the cause of his death being Bright's disease. The deceased was born at Petersburg, Huntington county on February 12, 1819, being at the time of his death in the 85th year of his age. He was for many years a farmer but for the last ten years had been making his home with his children as his wife died twelve years ago. He is survived by five children - W. H. of Philadelphia; Martin K. and Luther M., mentioned above and Mrs. Susan Crum of Hollidaysburg. He is also survived by four brothers and two sisters. The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church. The funeral took place Thursday morning, July 8, the remains being taken from Altoona to Trough Creek Valley in Huntington county.
