Friday, April 3, 1925; p3. The Daily News, Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Friday, April 3, 1925; p3. David Porter, died at his home in Mooresville, early in the morning of March 31, 1925. Mr. Porter came from a fine old Presbyterian family, noted for their thrift, industry and honesty. He was one of a large family whose parents, in their dignified Christian home, made worth while. Mooresville will miss his quiet unassuming way that was always ready to be helpful. He has long been an officer in our church doing good—his life, his family, his home, giving out, like his father’s an influence for good. Only a short-time ago, his daughter Esther Porter Davis went to heaven from her home in Barree leaving two little children. Esther was a quiet modest girl, noble and true. True at school, so attentive and so earnest. In the church, she was always glad to serve her Master. How she loved the Christmas story, anything about God, and heaven and peace on earth. Today she is reaping her reward. She lived a spotless, consecrated life, a splendid wife and mother. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 1.6 Kb
