BARBARA ELLEN STEWART RIGGS, Wife of Oliver L. Riggs, sr., of Armagh, Indiana county, died at the Memorial hospital in Johnstown on Wednesday where she underwent an operation on Dec. 20 in the hope of getting relief from a complication of diseases. She was born in Huntingdon county, Jan. 125, 1864, the daughter of General Stewart and was a sister of Alexander and Andrew Stewart and Mrs. Riley Kreamer and Mrs. Charles Gerlach of Johnstown and D. R. Stewart of Greensburg. She and Oliver Riggs, a native of West Virginia, were married on Dec. 21, 1889, in Huntingdon county by the Rev. Mr. Cole, a Presbyterian minister. Mr. and Mrs. Riggs made their home in Marrellville? until fourteen years ago, when they removed to Indiana county. Besides her husband and brothers and sisters, Mrs. Riggs is survived by seven children: Miss Rachel, a teacher; Oliver, jr. and Emery Riggs, members of the Johnstown police force; May, wife of Calvin Blough of Johnstown; Ada, wife of Leonard Biddleman, of Armagh; Alice, wife of Frank Patchen, and Jacob Riggs of Seward. She is also survived by three grandchildren. Mrs. Riggs was a member of the Armagh Methodist church, the services to be conducted on Friday afternoon at the church by the Rev.
