Rogers Genevieve Mary Rogers, formerly of Blairs Mills and most recently of RR2, Dalton, died unexpectedly Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001 at the Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock. She had been in failing health. Funeral services were held Sept. 24 at the Lawrence E. Young Funeral Home in Clarks Summit. Officiating was Rev. Arthur Davis and interment was made in Greenwood Cemetery, Glendale. Born in Blairs Mills, she was the daughter of the late John and Rena (Cutshall) Gardner. She married Dayton M. Rogers 62 years ago. He survives at their home. Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Several area nieces and nephews survive: Ross Yohn of Rockhill, Joyce Krause of Orbisonia, Alverta Durst of Hagerstown, Md., Paul "Pete" Gardner of Shirleysburg and Fred Yohn of Aurora, Col. She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church, Scranton, and its Doers Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women and the Dames of Malta. She had been employed by the Manhattan Shirt Company and later in the local garment industry in the Scranton area.
